Addressing a Jan Samvad programme in Jehanabad, Choudhary highlighted the increase in Bihar's budget since 2005, now exceeding Rs 3 lakh crore. "There has been tangible improvement in education, healthcare, infrastructure and social justice. Women, the backward and extremely backward sections and oppressed communities have been brought into the mainstream through targeted schemes," he said.
Choudhary's Jan Samvad initiative follows the CM's rollout of rural road and bridge projects worth several thousand crores.
He announced that under the CM's Rural Roads Strengthening and Management Programme, 188 rural roads spanning 309km are being upgraded at a cost of Rs 250 crore. "These roads will enhance connectivity between panchayats, villages and Mahadalit tolas," he said.
He added that 24 roads measuring 42km are set for construction in the 2025-26 fiscal year at a cost of Rs 35 crore. Also, eight bridges totalling 470.82 metres in length will be built at a cost of Rs 38 crore, including those over the Dardha and Morhar rivers and along the Kindui-Rita Bigaha road.
Another 25 roads and one bridge will be constructed under the CM's Rural Connectivity Programme at a cost of Rs 59 crore.
Appealing to residents to support the CM in the upcoming assembly elections, Chaudhary called for continued public backing to further accelerate Bihar's development.
Present at the event were MLC Anil Kumar, MLAs Santosh Kumar and Rambali Yadav, former MP Chandreshwar Prasad Chandravanshi, former MLA Munilal Yadav and Jehanabad Nagar Parishad chairperson Rupa Devi.
