Investigation paper on married couple selling porn sent to DPP
KUALA LUMPUR: The investigation paper on a married couple suspected of recording and selling pornographic content on social media has been referred to the deputy public prosecutor (DPP) today.
"Both suspects remain in remand. Further investigations are ongoing," said Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad.
"The suspects, both aged 34, are being investigated under the Penal Code, as well as the Communications and Multimedia Commission Act 1998."
The couple was arrested in a raid at a hotel in Shah Alam, Selangor, on suspicion of recording and selling pornographic content on social media.
City police chief Datuk Rusli Mohd Isa had said the couple offered slots for sexual services for RM450 to RM800 at a four-star hotel.
He said the couple also sold pornographic content on Telegram.
"They promoted the pornographic content and prostitution activities on X with a mobile phone," he said, adding that the woman would share the profits from her activities with her husband.
