Watch emergency services respond to deadly mass Russian drone attack
A mass drone attack by Russian forces on the Ukrainian Black Sea port city of Odesa early on Saturday killed one resident and set ablaze a multi-storey apartment building, authorities said. The assault follows weeks of intensified Russian attacks, prompting US President Donald Trump to sharpen his tone and threaten harsher sanctions. On Telegram, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy confirmed six people, including a child, injured, noting Russia launched over 30 missiles and 300 drones across 10 regions overnight, stressing air defence's importance. Ukraine 's air force detailed five missiles and 30 drones struck 12 locations, with seven others hit by downed aerial objects. Ukraine continues to appeal for additional allied support, aid, and domestic production to repel Russian aggression.

Russian drone kills civilian in Kherson
A local resident has been killed in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson by a Russian drone. Source: Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Oblast Military Administration, on Telegram Details: Prokudin said that a 49-year-old man was fatally injured by explosives dropped from a drone. Prokudin expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased. Over the past day, 34 settlements in Kherson Oblast and the city of Kherson were subjected to Russian drone strikes, artillery shelling and airstrikes. Russian troops targeted social infrastructure and residential areas in the oblast, damaging 3 high-rise buildings and 10 houses. Russia kills 1, injures 8 people in Donetsk Oblast
The Russian military attacked Donetsk Oblast on May 17, killing one person and injuring an additional eight. This was reported by the Governor of Donetsk Oblast, Vadym Filashkin, on Telegram. The drone strike occurred in the morning and impacted the Yablunivka settlement, as well as Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Andriivka. In Yablunivka, attacked the settlement with an FPV , killing a 27-year-old woman. Russian forces also used drones to strike a car in Andriivka, injuring five people including one minor. An additional two people were injured in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Earlier in the day, Russian hit 18 towns and villages in Donetsk Oblast, as well as other oblasts across . Donetsk Oblast has been the epicenter of Russian aggression since 2014, with increased fighting after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
