Haryana Sports Minister Commends SGT University for Hosting International Kho-Kho Course Level III-A 2025 in Collaboration with KKFI and IKKF
Continuing its legacy of academic excellence and commitment to national development through sports and health sciences, the Faculty of Physiotherapy, SGT University, Gurugram, is proud to host the prestigious International Kho-Kho Course Level III-A 2025 from June 2 to June 15, 2025. Organized in academic partnership with the Kho-Kho Federation of India (KKFI), under the aegis of the International Kho-Kho Federation (IKKF), the initiative marks a significant step forward in scientific sports education and international capacity building. June 2-11 focused on advanced training for 52 Kho-Kho coaches from India and abroad, while June 12-15 is designed to enhance the skillset of more than 120 technical officials. Participants from countries such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Iran, Australia, England, Korea, UAE and Malaysia have joined their Indian counterparts to collectively professionalize the sport through structured, science-backed training. Applauding the initiative, Shri Gaurav Gautam, Hon'ble Minister of State, Haryana, who attended the inauguration of the second phase of the program, commended SGT University for promoting indigenous sports like Kho-Kho through international academic platforms. He stated, 'Kho-Kho not only keeps us physically fit but also supports mental well-being. It is a sport that requires minimal investment, making it accessible to all.' It is a step forward in making Kho-Kho more professional, using the latest knowledge from sports science, ethical coaching, and global best practices.' He further added that the facilities provided by SGT University, including physiotherapy training, nutritional guidance, and yoga practices, will elevate Kho-Kho from excellence to global recognition. We are quite hopeful that by 2032, Kho-Kho will be included in the list of Olympic games.' 'It was a proud moment to host the Advanced Level III-A Training Course with KKFI. The focus on injury prevention in Kho-Kho was well-received, and the active participation from coaches made the sessions truly rewarding. Such initiatives are vital for the sport's growth and athlete safety,' said Dr. Sajjan Pal, HOD Sports, Faculty of Physiotherapy, SGT University. Held at SGT University's cutting-edge campus, the course blends classroom instruction with practical experience. The Faculty of Physiotherapy, supported by departments like Nutrition, Yoga and Naturopathy, has curated and delivered a diverse range of academic modules. These cover biomechanics and movement analysis, strength and conditioning, sports psychology, doping and nutrition awareness, ethical conduct, sexual harassment prevention, and Basic Life Support (BLS) training. This initiative has resulted in the elevation of coaching standards, integration of injury prevention protocols, promotion of ethical sporting environments, and improvement in emergency preparedness. Ultimate Kho Kho season 3 to commence from November 29
Gurugram (Haryana) [India], June 13 (ANI): In a major development for the globalisation of Kho Kho, the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) announced that for the first time international players will be eligible for inclusion in the Ultimate Kho Kho (UKK) players' auction for the upcoming third season. The announcement was made by KKFI president Sudhanshu Mittal during a press conference held at Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tercentenary (SGT) University on Friday. He also confirmed that the third season of Ultimate Kho Kho will commence from November 29, marking a new chapter for India's professional Kho Kho league. The press conference was held in the esteemed presence of Gaurav Gautam, Minister of State for Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship (IC), Sports (IC), Law and Legislative (Attached), Government of Haryana who appreciated the efforts done by KKFI for promoting Kho Kho on a global stage and improve the state of sports development in Haryana. Other members who attended were Hemant Verma, Vice Chancellor, SGT University, Amrit Singh Chawla, Member, Governing Body, SGT University and Jawahar Singh Yadav, President, Haryana Kho Kho Federation who promised that Kho Kho will be promoted extensively in Haryana and more Kho Kho players will be promised more facilities and job opportunities. The announcement came alongside the Advanced Level III A Training Programme for Coaches and Technical Officials, which is currently underway at the SGT University campus. Additionally, Kho Kho Federation of India and SGT University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen the commitment of developing educational and scientific resources for all indigenous sports including Kho Kho. Speaking at the press conference, Sudhanshu Mittal said, 'Kho Kho has become a symbol of India's sporting innovation and ambition. With Ultimate Kho Kho Season 3 set to begin from November 29, 2025, we are proud to take another bold step by opening the league to international players for the first time. This move not only strengthens the competitive quality of the league but also reflects our vision of making India the global hub for Kho Kho' The upcoming season of UKK will mark a major shift in the league's composition, as international players are expected to significantly raise the league's competitive profile and global visibility. With its unique blend of speed, strategy, and skill, UKK has grown rapidly since its launch in 2022, becoming the third-most watched non-cricket sports tournament in India, behind only the Pro Kabaddi League and Indian Super League. The first season drew 64 million viewers, including 41 million from India alone. The Odisha Juggernauts claimed the title in Season 1, while Gujarat Giants emerged champions in the 2023-24 edition. The press conference also spotlighted the ongoing Advanced Level III A training programme, a two-week intensive initiative hosted by KKFI and IKKF to strengthen the technical and scientific backbone of the sport. The programme has drawn over 230 participants, including 20+ international coaches and technical officials from countries such as Sri Lanka, Iran, Australia, Korea, England, Malaysia, Nepal, and others. Notably, federations have been given the option to attend the courses online, making this the first hybrid-format training programme in which countries like Brazil and Peru attended. The current programme, being held at SGT University, is split into two segments: training for coaches from June 2 to June 11, and training for technical officials from June 12 to June 15. The technical officials' course has drawn participation from over 100 Indian officials across 30 states and UTs, and 15 international officials, including representatives from Australia, Nepal, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and others. SGT University Co-Hosts National Seminar 'Bihar Leads the Rising East' in Patna

This landmark event aimed to bring together stakeholders from governance, academia, and civil society to reflect on Bihar's development journey and chart new directions for its inclusive development. Esteemed dignitaries releasing a report on Bihar during the National Seminar 'Bihar Leads the Rising East' held in Patna The seminar was conceptualized under the leadership of Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, Chancellor, SGT University, and Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Former Member, Rajya Sabha, and Vice-Chairman, RMP. The event provides a platform for in-depth discussions on Bihar's economic resurgence, governance models, rural development, and future policy frameworks. The introductory address was given by Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, who said that 'Bihar today is emerging not just as a symbol of cultural pride but as the capital of aspirational progress. Institutions beyond Bihar, including SGT University, PPRC, and RMP, must collaborate to analyze the Purvodaya model and accelerate development in the eastern states. To realize the vision of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,' we must document Bihar's success stories and share its best practices across the nation.' Shri Samrat Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, spoke on the tremendous progress the state is making and will continue to make. 'Bihar is witnessing a historic transformation, where once no new medical colleges or universities came up for decades; today we proudly have 32 universities and a budget of Rs. 3.17 lakh crore. With Vikramshila University set for revival and land already allotted, we are reclaiming our legacy and building a stronger future for our youth.' 'Bihar has long been a cradle of intellectual tradition, from Nalanda to Takshashila.
