HC clubs pleas against pvt varsities regulatory panel chief
Bhopal/Jabalpur: The MP high court has ordered that a fresh petition challenging the MP Private Universities Regulatory Commission chairman's appointment be clubbed with an earlier plea accusing him of corruption.
Now, the two petitions against Prof Bharat Sharan Singh will be heard simultaneously.
Advocate Anil Singh from Bhopal, in his petition, said Prof Singh's appointment as the commission chairman was contrary to rules and illegal.
The petitioner argued that he was appointed chairman of the commission in 2020 on deputation. Earlier, Singh was posted on deputation at SN Shukla Private University in Shahdol. He said the salary of Prof Singh at the private university was Rs 3.5 lakh per month, but he preferred to come as chairman of the commission, where his salary is Rs 2.10 lakh per month.
Following initial arguments, a bench of acting chief justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and justice Vinay Saraf ordered clubbing of the two petitions.
