5-yr-old video of firing comes to haunt woman now studying in Canada
Rajkot: A five-year-old video showing a woman firing a single shot into the air has come back to haunt her, with the Devbhumi Dwarka police registering an FIR against her under the Arms Act. The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the district police lodged a complaint at Jam Khambhaliya police station on Tuesday against the woman and her relative, after the video recently surfaced and went viral on social media. Police confirmed that Nandini has been living in Calgary, Canada, for the past three years for academic studies. The FIR was filed by Pabu Mayani, a constable with the SOG, following a preliminary investigation into the video. Speaking to TOI, he said, "We received information that she fired a shot into the air five years ago using a licensed double-barrel firearm belonging to her relative. The video of this incident is now being widely circulated on social media. We traced the video to a Facebook account." Police stated that the manner in which the shot was fired appeared reckless and could have endangered human life or personal safety. The 53-year-old co-accused was summoned for questioning and presented the firearm licence to the authorities. He admitted to lending the weapon to the woman. He was detained for violating provisions of the Arms Act.

Two involved in double murder case arrested
Prayagraj: A man wanted in a double murder case was arrested along with his accomplice after being injured in a police encounter near Kaju village, under the limits of Charwa police station of Kaushambi district early Wednesday. The injured man, identified as Virendra (40), a resident of Malaka, was admitted to the district hospital for treatment. His aide, identified as Shivbabu Pasi of Bhikari Ka Purwa, was also arrested. Police said that two persons, identified as Gudia and Gore Lal, were found murdered near Gauhani Kala village under the limits of Charwa police station on June 29. Following the incident, an FIR under section 103 (1) of BNS was registered. On Wednesday, a joint team of SOG, Surveillance, and Charwa police received information about movement of the two men involved in the double murder and intercepted them near Kaju village. When the cops asked them to stop, Virendra opened fire on the police party, and the cops retaliated, injuring Virendra in the exchange of fire. The arrested persons told police that they were well acquainted with the deceased. Gore Lal tried to make an abortive bid to have a physical relation with the woman. The accused also expressed a desire to have a physical relation with the woman. At this, Gore Lal became aggressive, and the accused hit both the woman and Gore Lal with an iron rod and escaped from the scene after killing them. tnn

5-year-old gun-firing video lands Canada based woman in trouble; booked under arms act in Gujarat
RAJKOT: An old video can resurface to cause serious legal trouble in the age of social media. A woman who is studying in Canada for the past three years was booked by Gujarat police under the Arms Act after a five-year-old video of her firing a gun into the air went viral online. The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Devbhumi Dwarka Police registered a case against Nandini Rudach and her distant relative, Harsur Rudach, at Jam Khambhaliya police station on Tuesday under multiple sections of the Arms Act. According to police, Nandini has been residing in Calgary, Canada, for the past three years for study. The FIR was filed by Pabu Mayani, a constable with the SOG, following a preliminary investigation. Speaking to TOI, he said, 'We received a tip-off from an informant that Nandiniben fired a shot into the air five years ago using a licensed firearm belonging to Harsur. The video of this incident is now being widely circulated on social media. We traced the video to a Facebook account belonging to Karan Gadhvi.' The investigation confirmed that Nandini fired a single round into the air using a licensed double-barrel firearm owned by her relative, Harsur Rudach. Police stated that the manner of firing, as seen in the video, was reckless and could have endangered human life or personal safety. Harsur Rudach, 53, was summoned for questioning and presented his firearm licence to the authorities. He admitted to lending his gun to Nandini, who fired one shot using the weapon. As a result, Harsur was detained for violating provisions of the Arms Act. The investigation into this incident is underway.

Police find missing man in Balrampur
Kanpur: Police successfully rescued a missing man from Bharthana area of Etawah. The man, missing since June 28, was held captive by unidentified miscreants in Balrampur. The victims was found with wounds on his face and a cloth tied around his mouth. The victim was unable to provide comprehensive details about the incident. One Sheela Devi lodged a missing case for son Manish at Bharthana police station on June 28. During police investigation, the surveillance and SOG teams received information regarding the victim's location. Following the lead, the police team travelled to Balrampur. On Monday, the police force carried out a search operation in Balrampur and located the victim. He was found under the influence of alcohol, with facial injuries and his mouth tied with cloth. The team left Balrampur with the rescued person on Monday night and arrived in Etawah on Tuesday morning. SSP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava confirmed the registration of a missing person case on a complaint filed by the mother of Manish. The SSP said that the victim was in inebriated condition and couldn't provide any information about the kidnappers. Quack held for operating clinic in Changodar
Ahmedabad: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Ahmedabad Rural police on Monday arrested a man for practising allopathic medicine without a valid medical degree in Dholeshwarnagar on the Changodar-Tajpur Road. Acting on a tip-off, the SOG team detained Biswajeet Ghosh, aged around 40 years, who was operating a clinic and administering allopathic medicines and injections without any recognized medical qualification or registration with the Gujarat Medical Council. During the raid, cops seized allopathic medicines, injections, and medical equipment worth Rs 27,403 from the premises. A case has been registered against Ghosh at Changodar police station under Section 30 of the Gujarat Medical Practitioners Act, 1963, according to a release issued by Ahmedabad Rural police.
