"We're planning to create fresh, fun, inclusive, entertaining radio with plenty of interaction with our listeners, which has always been my favourite part of radio. The comedian worked his way up a pyramid to play for the show's top prize. Stephen answered the first few with ease - but wasn't quite as lucky on the £50k catchphrase. It appeared to be someone who was running alongside a clock or watch. Although Stephen's guesses included "time travel" and "running with time", he failed to find the correct answer. Despite the setback, he still won £25,000 for his charity as well as helping increase the amount won by his competitors. Host Stephen Mulhern said afterwards: "Well I tell you what, there's a turn up for the books. "Honestly, that was fantastic. That was amazing play." To which Stephen K. Amos replied: "Thank you. I'm glad we could help my friends as well." It was at this point that the elusive £50k answer was finally revealed. Rob Brydon appears on a celebrity edition of Catchphrase Stephen Mulhern admitted: "I thought you were going to say it at one point. It's running like clockwork." He continued: "Think of that no longer, because you are taking away the £4,900 that you won earlier on. "Now, that £25,000, taking your total prize money for your charity to £29,900." Stephen K. Amos triumphed over Corrie legend Beverley Callard and presenter Kirsty Gallacher in the earlier rounds. His efforts in the Super Catchphrase meant he also doubled their winnings, so Beverley now received £3,800 for her charity. Meanwhile, Kirsty's doubled amount went up to £6,800 for her cause. The episode originally aired in 2022 - although ITV2 viewers have now seen the outcome play out again. Earlier this year, it was revealed Celebrity Catchphrase had been renewed for an 11th series - before series 10 even aired. ITV commissioner Gemma John-Lewis said: "We're delighted to announce a further series of the much loved family favourite, Celebrity Catchphrase. Stephen Mulhern's career so far The presenter is a mainstay on various ITV shows, but how did he become one of Britain's most well-known faces? Stephen first gained an interest in magic and tricks from his father who taught him as a kid. After performing at Butlins, he became the youngest member of the Magic Circle and even made an appearance on Blue Peter in a piece about Harry Houdini. His career started in Children's TV when he presenter the show Finger Tips in 2001. After four years, he launched Tricky TV on CITV in 2005, which he presented until 2010. During this time, he was handpicked by bosses to front the ITV2 spin-off for Britain's Got Talent. He presented Britain's Got More Talent until the cancelation of the companion in 2019. But it's not all bad news for Stephen who is known for his duties on a number of quiz shows. In for a Penny, a format originally launched on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway was launched the same year. Before, he was chosen by bosses to host Catchphrase in 2013 and has been fronting the show ever since. Other huge shows he presented for ITV included Big Star's Little Star, Rolling In It and the reboot of Deal Or No Deal. He also made regular appearances on This Morning in 'The Hub' segment between 2011 and 2014. After the Philip Schofield scandal rocked ITV, he was chosen to reunite with his former CITV co-star Holly Willoughby as the host of Dancing on Ice. "The only show where you say what you see, the hugely popular series continues to win legions of fans and with Stephen's infectious and playful humour it's a firm favourite with our viewers." Gary Chippington, Executive Producer and Creative Director of STV Studios Entertainment, added: "It's testament to Catchphrase's fantastic format and universal appeal that it's still one of the UK's most-loved entertainment shows, four decades after ITV first commissioned it. "The incomparable Stephen Mulhern is a huge part of the show's success, and we're looking forward to getting back in the studio with him and a great line-up of stars later this year for what promises to be another brilliant series of Celebrity Catchphrase." Celebrity Catchphrase airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
