Bizman duped of Rs 1.7 cr in fake namkeen venture

1 2 Hyderabad: A businessman from Noorkhan Bazar has alleged that he was duped of nearly 1.7 crore by a fake manufacturer of savouries and snack foods, who lured him into a bogus partnership under the pretext of running a namkeen and paan masala business. Acting on his complaint, Hyderabad central crime station (CCS) police have registered a case of cheating and launched a manhunt for the accused. The complainant, Syed Shah Hamed Hussain Sabri, told police that Abhishek Avula introduced himself as a reputed manufacturer of snack foods, claiming his family owned several popular brands. To support his claims, Abhishek reportedly pointed to YouTube videos and a substantial online following to bolster his credibility. Convinced by these representations, Sabri said he entered into a formal business partnership with Abhishek in Sept 2024. Between Oct 22 and Dec 14, 2024, Sabri transferred 1.21 crore from his HDFC Bank account to Abhishek's firm, and an additional 48.1 lakh to individuals introduced as employees and suppliers. But after the transfers were made, Abhishek became untraceable — he switched off his phone and cut off all contact," Sabri said in his complaint. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The World's Oldest Living Actors. Reportingly Undo Suspecting foul-play, Sabri made inquiries and discovered that Abhishek had allegedly cheated several others in a similar fashion under the guise of running namkeen and masala businesses. Multiple FIRs are reportedly pending against him in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Following Sabri's complaint, CCS police registered a case against Abhishek on July 18 under sections 316(2) (criminal breach of trust) and 318(4) (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. "We have prima facie evidence of Sabri transferring substantial amounts to a company operated by the accused. He is currently absconding, and efforts are on to trace and apprehend him," a CCS official said.

Credit: Getty Images It's never easy to find the time and motivation to train, but almost all of us can spare six minutes to do a workout that doesn't require any equipment. When it comes to motivation, that's a bit trickier, but at least with this short session from Pilates instructor Lilly Sabri, you know that you'll be finished in next to no time, and you'll be pleased to have done it. Advertisement If you do want to roll out one of the best yoga mats, it will make the session more comfortable as you'll be doing the entire workout lying down. Don't be fooled into thinking it will be an easy ride just because it's only six minutes long, either. Sabri suggests this as an intermediate workout, and you can be sure your abs will feel the effects of it afterwards. Watch Lilly Sabri's 6-minute core workout There are six exercises in the workout, and they are broken up by short breaks while Sabri explains what move is coming up next. Sabri does the workout with you, setting a pace for the exercises and providing tips to help you push through and get the most from it, so make sure you can see your screen throughout. Advertisement With a short workout like this, it's important to maximize each move, so make sure your form is correct and you're moving at the right pace to engage your core muscles. The workout features a mix of leg raises and sit-ups, along with the Hundreds exercise, which is a classic Pilates core-burner. The session works the upper and lower abs, your obliques through twisting moves, and the deep core muscles. There are no planks or bridges in the session, with all moves performed from the same lying position to make it easier and faster to transition between exercises. If you can make it a regular addition to your weekly routine, perhaps doing the workout three or four times a week — that's still just 18-24 minutes of work a week — is a great way to get into the rhythm of training regularly, and you'll notice your core strength improving. Advertisement You can also use this short core routine as a finisher for a longer workout, to ensure your abs get some special attention after a full-body circuit, for example. Once you have completed the workout comfortably, it will be worth looking at longer sessions to keep progressing. Or you could even double up on this workout for a testing 12-minute session. If you enjoyed this Pilates-style workout and are looking for something longer, try this 20-minute core workout, which also improves your balance. No aid, no justice: Qawwal group to stage sit-in

Overwhelmed by sorrow, Qawwal Majid Ali Sabri breaks down at the funeral of his brother, nephew, and a fellow troupe member, while PPP's Saeed Ghani, Governor Kamran Tessori of MQM-P, and PTI's Haleem Adil Sheikh stand united in condolence. PHOTO: JALAL QURESHI/EXPRESS Qawwal Majid Ali Sabri has announced a protest and symbolic sit-in outside the Karachi Press Club on Friday, accompanied by musical instruments and fellow musicians, in response to the federal and provincial governments' failure to announce any form of compensation - more than a week after the Kalat tragedy. Majid Ali Sabri, of the renowned Sabri Qawwal family, stated that certificates received from performances in Qawwali gatherings cannot eradicate hunger and poverty. His group, which lost members in the Kalat incident, has warned of a peaceful demonstration after Friday prayers, where they will gather outside the Karachi Press Club with their instruments to express their outrage through silence. The protest is in response to the absence of any financial assistance or official statements acknowledging the loss of three lives and the injury of five others, one of whom remains in critical condition in hospital. In an interview with The Express Tribune, Sabri emphasised that unless immediate aid and compensation are announced, they will place their tabla, harmonium, and dholak on the ground in a silent sit-in to "shake the conscience of those in power." Sabri expressed frustration over repeated appeals to government officials that have resulted only in sympathy and hollow assurances. "No practical steps have been taken, and no meaningful response has come for the families who lost everything," he said. "There is deep sorrow and even deeper hunger in the homes of the victims." He described the homes of the deceased Qawwals as filled not just with grief, but with the cries of hungry children, saying families are struggling for basic necessities like food and milk. "Performance certificates cannot fill stomachs," he said. "They are not enough to address this suffering." Sabri stressed that the group is not demanding govt stipends, but rather justice — which, he said, is the right of every citizen affected by terrorism. "We have brought honour to this country through our art," he said. "Now it is the government's responsibility to answer our call." He also voiced disappointment at the silence of prominent cultural and literary institutions, which have not stepped forward to support the grieving families or demand justice on their behalf.
