Police arrest alleged impaired driver who crashed into downtown Toronto restaurant

One person is facing impaired driving charges after a vehicle crashed into the front of a restaurant in Toronto. A driver has been arrested for impaired driving after a car crashed into a downtown Toronto restaurant early Saturday morning. Toronto police say they responded to a single-vehicle collision just before 4:30 a.m. in the area of Sackville Street and Dundas Street East. Images from the scene show the aftermath of the crash at Café ZUZU with broken glass and debris scattered across the front entrance and the bent metal frame of the window sitting atop the car. Images from the area show a vehicle with significant damage to its bumper. Photos also show visible damage to the entrance of Café ZUZU, a café and restaurant nearby, with glass and debris scattered on the ground.

Two Bradford men charged with assaulting emergency worker

Two men have been charged with assaulting an emergency worker after a disturbance on a Bradford street. Officers were patrolling in the city centre on Saturday evening, with footage shared on social media showing a large police presence on Sackville Street near an Army careers centre and a takeaway. A 22-year-old man from Bradford was charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and was bailed to appear at Bradford Magistrates' Court on 29 man, 40, also from the city, was charged with one count of the same offence and is due to appeal before magistrates on 12 August. A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident and was bailed pending further police investigations. Toronto police say they received a call at 7:19 p.m. about a person stabbed inside a building in the area of Sackville Street and Dundas Street East, east of Parliament Street. When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a stab wound. Toronto paramedics told CTV News Toronto that the man sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police say a suspect was arrested and later transported to hospital. Paramedics said the suspect suffered minor injuries. The circumstances that led to the stabbing are not known.
