Sacramento Police investigating deadly assault
Sacramento Police said they are investigating a deadly assault that happened on Friday night. Police said that they received reports of an assault around 9:45 p.m., and that fire crews were first on scene on the 1700 block of South Avenue. First responders found a man who was unconscious, police said. They took the man to the hospital, but he was later pronounced deceased. Police said homicide detectives were investigating and have not released any information about a suspect.

Sacramento firefighter assaulted by person requesting medical aid, officials say
One person was detained after a Sacramento city firefighter was assaulted while responding to a request for medical aid, officials said Monday night. It happened shortly before 9 p.m. in the area of Arcade and Rio Linda boulevards in north Sacramento. Sacramento police said the person who assaulted the firefighter was the same person who made the request for medical assistance. Man killed in North Sacramento shooting
A man was killed in a North Sacramento shooting early Sunday morning, Sacramento Police said. The shooting happened around 4 a.m. near Mahogany Street and North Avenue. Police said officers arrived at the scene and found a man who had been shot at least once. Officers and first responders gave the victim first aid, but he died at the scene, police said. Police are investigating the shooting and said they do not have any information about the shooter yet.

Car crashes into south Sacramento Starbucks, minor injuries reported
SACRAMENTO — Customers were injured by broken glass when a car crashed into a south Sacramento Starbucks, police said Tuesday evening. Sacramento police said it happened just before 5:30 p.m. at the Starbucks at Greenhaven Drive and Pocket Road. All injuries, including to the driver, were minor, police said.
