J-Pop Group f5ve Drops Cryptic Tweet; Fans Concerned About Possible Disbandment
This year, fans of the Japanese music industry have been witnessing their favourite groups disbanding one by one. For instance, only a month ago, beloved J-rock band TOKIO announced they would no longer be active. As a result, this has left fans hoping that it isn't going to become a trend throughout 2025. Unfortunately, adding to the growing unease, Japanese girl group f5ve (ファイビー) recently tweeted a sudden message thanking fans for their support since their debut. Although brief and heartfelt, the unexpected post on on 28th July (Monday) quickly sparked concern among Hi-f5ves (f5ve fans), who worry it may quietly hint at an upcoming announcement. Debuting back in 2023 under the name SG5 (Sailor Guardians 5), the group quickly attracted global attention with their unique concept inspired by 'Sailor Moon'. Their early aesthetic leaned heavily into magical girl themes, which helped set them apart in a saturated idol market. However, after rebranding in April 2024, the group embraced a bold new identity as inter-dimensional dream agents, signalling a fresh creative direction both visually and musically. Their first release under the new name, 'Lettuce,' marked a turning point. The track gained significant traction on TikTok, earning international views and buzz for its quirky concept and sleek production. As their first song post-rebrand, it not only introduced a reinvented f5ve but also highlighted the group's creative range and potential to stand out on a global stage. Interestingly, two days prior to the cryptic thank-you tweet, the group asked Hi-f5ves to continue supporting them through hardships, hinting at struggles with their company without directly addressing the situation. This vague message quickly stirred concern among fans, who have since been closely watching for any signs of what might be unfolding. Overall, the tone of these recent posts has left many feeling uneasy. Nevertheless, despite growing worries about the group's future, fans remains fiercely loyal. Many have pledged to stand by f5ve through whatever decisions the members make. Whether this marks a farewell or a difficult transition, one thing is certain: their fanbase is devoted and ready to support them every step of the way. Here is the official post: thank you to everyone who has supported us. thank you for your patience while merch orders are shipping. thank you to everyone who has streamed sequence 01 and come to a fan event or has said something kind. we will never forget this year. we love you very much. hi-5 4ever… — f5ve (@f5ve_official) July 28, 2025 Source: Twitter Zaima Humaira contributed to this article

Sailor Moon Museum will finally make its outside-Japan debut
After traveling to four cities in Japan, the exhibit is ready to head out and meet the international Sailor Moon fan community. Earlier this year, Sailor Moon fans in the U.S. and U.K. got a special treat as the live-action stage musical, Sailor Moon The Super Live, traveled overseas for a series of performances in London and across America. Unfortunately, both tours have now finished, and it doesn't look like they'll be doing encore laps either, as the producers have announced that both casts are headed home to Japan for a run at the Sunshine Theater in Tokyo from October 9 to 13. There's even a bit of international prestige attached to them now, as they're being billed as 'Team US' and 'Team UK' in promotions, and their respective posters show the Sailor Senshi standing in front of glittery rainbow recreations of the New York and London skylines. But it's not all bad news for the outside-Japan fan community, because while the Sailor Moon musical is going back to the series' home country, the Sailor Moon Museum will be going overseas. Construction crews won't be having to break down and reassemble an entire building, however. The Sailor Moon Museum is actually a traveling exhibition displaying artwork and artifacts chronicling over 30 years of Sailor Moon history, with artifacts from the manga, anime, and live-action versions of the story. After starting in Tokyo, the Sailor Moon Museum then moved to Fukuoka, Osaka, and Nagoya. As the video here shows, it's a very impressive collection, but it's never been displayed outside Japan before. What's more, the organizers say that the museum will 'power up' for its overseas debut, implying that there may be new items or aspects that visitors will be able to experience for the first time anywhere. ▼ The most recent Sailor Moon Museum ended its run in Nagoya in September of last year. \閉幕まで1週間!/ #美少女戦士セーラームーン ミュージアム 名古屋会場も残すところあと1週間となりました。 セーラー戦士たちに名古屋で会えるのも残りわずか…!ぜひこの機会をお見逃しなく💎 🌙名古屋展チケット 好評発売中 #セーラームーンミュージアム — セーラームーンミュージアム (@sailormoon_ex) August 25, 2024 No venue information has been released at this point, but with Sailor Moon having huge fanbases in North America, Latin America, Europe, and elsewhere in Asia, pretty much anywhere in those regions is a viable candidate, and the choice of language in the announcement, that the exhibit is going 'overseas' without mentioning a specific country, could be a sign the that multiple countries will be on the list. The Sailor Moon Museum is slated to make its overseas debut this autumn. 26 Iconic TV Women Who Sparked Sexual Awakenings
Recently, we asked the queer members of our BuzzFeed Community to share which TV characters made them realize that they're attracted to women. Here are some of their responses: "I'm Gen-X, so obviously it was Jo from Facts of Life. I know I'm not alone in this." —Anonymous, 50, US "To be honest, Gadget from Rescue Rangers should have been the first tip off." —Anonymous, 45, Michigan "I think we can all agree on Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer." —tellyourfeetajoke"The first time she came onscreen, she had me questioning everything I thought I knew about myself as a young teen. There was just something about this cool, confident, complicated (and of course, attractive) girl that had me looking and feeling things I had not associated with girls before. For this reason, she will forever hold a special place in my heart."—Anonymous, 40, Nevada "Quinn Fabray from Glee, easily. A criminally underrated and underused singing voice and killer looks (especially when she was a Cheerio). I also shipped her and Rachel so hard in my youth." —raymaariforever "Sara Bellum from Powerpuff Girls. Though it took 20 to 25 more years before I came out to myself." —ymxb "Xena and Gabrielle from Xena: Warrior Princess. The scene in the hot spring. I was probably too young to see that, but from the glimpse of what I did see, it forever changed me." —pinkcomet428 "Monica Keena as Abby Morgan on Dawson's Creek and Rachel Lindquist on Undeclared. I referred to them as my 'girl crushes.' It would only take a couple more decades and a number of additional 'girl crushes' for me to realize I was queer (pan). But it started with them!" —sasstrid "Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender. She and Zuko both helped me realise I was bisexual. And, to this day, I stand by the fact they should've been together." —guacam011y "Tori and Jade from Victorious! They were talented and gorgeous, and they did things to my body I didn't understand." —alexandraisgay "Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune from Sailor Moon. They were the first queer couple I had ever seen on TV, and I was absolutely obsessed with them as a child before I understood my own sexuality. But honestly, throw a stone and pick literally any character from that anime, and they probably contributed to my gay awakening to some degree!" —Anonymous, 32, US"Cliche, but Sailor Moon. Just everything about Usagi made me want to date someone like her! Pretty, foodie, and obsessed with video games?!?!? Sign me uppppp."—Anonymous, 39, US "Hannah/Miley from Hannah Montana, but I didn't quite realize at the time that it was a crush." —nostalgiclegend284 "Well, this is embarrassing, but Jenny Shecter from the first season of The L Word. And then most of the cast made me realize that you can be super femme and be into girls." —lucyv4d65302ee "Leela from Futurama." —Anonymous, 19, US "Alison and Emily from Pretty Little Liars. There's a scene in Season 2 where Emily is imagining lying in Alison's lap while she strokes her hair, and it ends with Alison leaning in to kiss her. When I tell you that rewired my brain chemistry PERMANENTLY..." —audreyschockett "Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) from Charmed. It was undeniable after watching just one episode." —Anonymous, 39, Oregon "For me, it was Venus McFlytrap from Monster High! I thought she was so beautiful and cool-looking. She has a sort of punk aesthetic, and I was totally enamored by her." —elleenchanted "Carmilla Carmine from Hazbin Hotel. She's gorgeous and, when she lets her hair down, UGH, YES QUEEN!" —esadre "Camille Belcourt from Shadowhunters. If I wasn't already beginning to suspect I liked women, then she CERTAINLY shaped my specific taste in women. I eventually lost interest in the show bc she stopped appearing (honorable mention goes to Izzy tho)." —audreyschockett "Lindsay Wagner in The Bionic Woman waaaaay back in the 1970s when I was a pre-teen. I just didn't have a name for it at the time. I had pictures of her pinned up on my wall, along with pictures of Charlie's Angels. If I were playing Six Million Dollar Man with my friends, I would volunteer to be Steve Austin because it meant I could marry Jaime Sommers." —irisg2 "JoAnna Cameron as Isis in The Secrets of Isis (1975-76). It was a Saturday morning live-action superhero show. I adored her, wanted to be her, and only realized as an adult that I was definitely queer." —leticiamb "Samantha Carter from Stargate SG-1 (I'm a nerd, I know). —Anonymous, 32, Michigan "Charlie from Supernatural. I watched the show in secret because I grew up in a strict Catholic household, but it was the first time I was ever exposed to queerness — and queerness being okay, not a sin." —Anonymous, 22, Texas "Maxine Baker from Ginny & Georgia." —Anonymous, 15, Pennsylvania "Serena Van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl! I've always been into Blake Lively, and it was first seeing her character in Gossip Girl that made me think, 'Hey, you know I might actually be into girls as well!' —Anonymous, 33, Canada "Gillian Anderson from The X-Files." —caelesto And finally, "Lizzie McGuire ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🩶🤍." —runningwithscissors2343 Which TV character was your queer awakening? Canned Japanese whisky highball has a sophisticated history
Unraveling the mystery of the canned highball 'Azabu'. During a recent visit to a liquor store in Japan we spied something unusual on the shelf — a canned whisky highball called 'Azabu'. This instantly sparked a memory, as we recalled seeing a bottled version of 'Azabu' somewhere before, but we'd never seen it in a can so we picked it up for a closer look. While the name immediately conjures up images of Azabu in Tokyo, a high-class area that's home to embassies, international schools, and Sailor Moon, we found something rather unusual when we looked at the back of the can — it was made by Aichi-based Cheerio Chubu and distributed by Osaka-based company With One, so it didn't seem to have any Tokyo connection at all. Still, the Azabu name lent a sophisticated, high-class air to the highball, and the label echoed this sentiment with the words, 'A masterpiece in pursuit of the ultimate highball'. However, the label also reads, 'A blend of Scotch whisky and carefully selected whiskies from around the world, blended with spring water from Mt Fuji', so it's not truly a pure Japanese whisky. This was a confusing mash of facts to comprehend, so we decided to put the highball to the test, picking up a couple of cans for 396 yen (US$2.73) each and taking them home for a taste. Cracking open a can, we were met by a satisfying 'psshh' as the air was released, sending a faint smoky aroma wafting up to the nostrils. Pouring the drink into a glass, we saw it had a yellowish hue typical of a highball. Taking a sip, it wasn't as smoky as the aroma suggested, with just a gentle hint that made it incredibly easy to drink. There was a bright, fruity note with a subtle toasty flavour, and it was relatively light with a clean taste and no jarring quirks, making for a tasty tipple. While it was nice on its own, we imagine it'd go nicely with a meal, and when we closed our eyes, we were able to imagine the fancy scenery of Azabu. With Azabu in our mind's eye, we were reminded of the puzzling mystery behind the drink's name. The inconsistency between product name, manufacturer, and distributor was something we needed to get to the bottom of, so we put in a call to the distributor and received the following reply. 'The canned highball 'Azabu' originally stems from 'Azabu Pure Malt Whisky', which was co-developed with a company headquartered in Azabu-Juban, Tokyo. We chose the name 'Azabu' because the area encapsulates a sophisticated urban culture and high aesthetic sensibilities, which matches the image we wanted for the product.' The representative went on to say that the popularity of the pure malt whisky led them to make the canned highball, with Cheerio Chubu chosen as the trusted manufacturing partner. Through this collaboration, the canned highball 'Azabu' was born. So in the end, we discovered that the product name 'Azabu' does indeed refer to the posh area of Tokyo in which Azabu-Juban resides, and after tasting the highball we can confidently say the sophisticated image of the neighbourhood is a good fit for the sophisticated taste of the drink. 10 anime characters stronger than Dragon Ball Super's Zeno without breaking a sweat
Anime is full of overpowered characters, but none are hyped quite like Zeno from Dragon Ball Super—a cute-looking guy with the horrifying power to erase universes with a snap. While he's the strongest in the Dragon Ball universe, that does not necessarily mean he's the strongest in all of anime. Throughout different shows and genres, there are characters with abilities so ridiculous they make Zeno seem constrained. From magical girls who can rewrite reality to god-like entities who manipulate time and space with ease, these characters set a new precedent for what it means to be "all-powerful." Whether it is brute strength, cosmic manipulation, or full-on omnipotence, here are 10 anime characters that defeat Dragon Ball Super's Zeno and would easily defeat him without breaking a sweat. Anime characters who could defeat Dragon Ball Super's Zeno Character Anime Power and Comparison to Zeno Simon the Digger Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Commands galaxy-sized mechs; strength grows unlimited through willpower. Rimuru Tempest That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime God-like reality remaker; grows stronger by absorbing powers. Medaka Kurokami Medaka Box Erases concepts, masters talents instantly; more versatile than Zeno. Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo Reality-bending gag character; invincible by breaking all rules. Homura Akemi Puella Magi Madoka Magica Universe remodeler with emotional and tactical power surpassing Zeno. Lain Iwakura Serial Experiments Lain Controls information and reality; existentially powerful beyond Zeno. Super Majin Rymus Dragon Ball DAIMA (Fan Series) Created Dragon Ball multiverse; far stronger than Zeno. Haruhi Suzumiya The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Unaware god with chaotic reality control; harder to predict than Zeno. Arceus Pokémon Creator and balancer of Pokémon universe; beyond Zeno's destroyer role. Sailor Moon Sailor Moon (Cosmos Arc) Universe healer and restorer; holds greater moral power than Zeno. Powerful anime characters than Dragon Ball Super's Zeno Simon the Digger | Anime: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Source: IMDb Simon's strength is not based on divine origin, but on the unbreakable power of human will, which is augmented by Spiral Energy. He commands Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, a mech that is so large it eclipses galaxies and utilizes them as projectiles. Afterwards, he even breaks that shape to command Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, which belongs on a meta-multiversal scale. Whereas Zeno is able to annihilate, Simon inspires hope and energy simply by belief alone, so his ability is basically unlimited. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? IC Markets Mendaftar Undo His continually growing strength is such that he might actually surpass Zeno's destructive limit. Rimuru Tempest | Anime: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Source: Pinterest Rimuru's ultimate form, as shown in the light novels, is god-like and able to remake the very fabric of reality. With Ultimate Skills such as "Azathoth," Rimuru is able to erase ideas, remake reality, and even foretell all possible futures. Unlike Zeno, whose absolute power is fixed, Rimuru is a dynamically changing god, becoming stronger with each foe or concept he absorbs. Medaka Kurokami | Anime: Medaka Box Source: IMDb Medaka is more than a superhuman—she can remove any idea, such as death, time, and reason. Her super ability to acquire any talent and master it instantly puts her in command of all powers conceivable, including powers that transcend physical reality. Her logical mind and control over abstract entities make her significantly more adaptable than Zeno, who uses his erasure power exclusively. Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo | Anime: Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo Source: Instagram Bobobo is not subject to the logic of his universe—or any universe. Being a gag anime protagonist, he is governed by the toon force logic, where illogicalness is power. He has the ability to break the fourth wall, cheat death, and change results by sheer arbitrariness. This power based on absurdity might be too much even for Zeno, who exists within a narrative framework. Bobobo's reality bending at a meta level renders him invincible. Homura Akemi | Anime: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Source: Pinterest Homura begins as a magical girl, but by the series' conclusion and its sequel film (Rebellion), she steals Madoka's godhood and remolds the universe to her will. She doesn't manipulate time so much as rebuild existence according to her own emotional schema. Her tactical intellect and tiered reality manipulation could displace Zeno's brute power with tiered causality manipulation. Lain Iwakura | Anime: Serial Experiments Lain Source: IMDb Lain becomes one with "The Wired," a virtual plane that exists on top of reality. She controls information, redraws history, wipes out people from existence, and remains even after she undoes her own reality. Zeno's power is cosmic, but Lain's power is existential. She is consciousness blended with divinity, providing a deeper layer of omnipotence. Super Majin Rymus | Anime: Dragon Ball DAIMA (Fan Series) Source: Instagram Although non-canonical, Rymus is an incredibly strong fan-made character thought to exist before the whole Dragon Ball multiverse. Although Zeno is able to erase, Rymus generates whole realities, including the existence that Zeno lives in. He represents the source code of the Dragon Ball universe, which could put him well beyond the Omni-King. Haruhi Suzumiya | Anime: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Haruhi does not know her abilities, yet her feelings dictate all things to her. She can produce time loops, alternate universes, or recreate the universe completely—all unconsciously. Her lack of control ironically makes her more formidable than Zeno. Whereas Zeno decides to annihilate, Haruhi remodels reality by accident, which is even more difficult to anticipate or resist. Arceus | Anime: Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life Arceus is the originator of the Pokémon universe, creating time, space, and antimatter via Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. The anime makes Arceus merely an avatar of a being from a higher dimension. Although Zeno is a destroyer, Arceus is a balancer and originator with powers spanning across timelines and realities, perhaps even outside Dragon Ball's multiverse. Sailor Moon | Anime: Sailor Moon (Cosmos Arc) Source: IMDb In her ultimate incarnations, Sailor Moon evolves into a goddess capable of bringing people back to life, cleansing and rejuvenating entire universes. She is powered by empathy, which bestows upon her emotional strength that even Zeno does not possess. She does not destroy evil; she saves and restores, a divine quality that places her in an even greater moral and metaphysical position than Zeno.
