The veteran star, known for his remarkable versatility across genres and languages, breathed his last at his Hyderabad residence following prolonged age-related health issues. Superstar Mahesh Babu has penned an emotional message on social media. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mahesh Babu expressed his grief, writing, "Saddened to hear about the passing of Kota Srinivasa Rao loss feels personal to all of us who grew up watching and learning from him…May his soul rest in peace. Sending Strength and prayers to his family." Mahesh Babu has shared screen space with Kota garu in films like 'Athadu' and 'Sainikudu'. "This loss feels personal" Apart from Mahesh Babu numerous other celebrities and fans flooded social media with tributes, sharing memories and celebrating the life of the legendary actor. His contributions to Indian cinema were recognised with numerous awards, including nine Nandi Awards and the prestigious Padma Shri in 2015. Actors remember his impact and legacy Actor Manchu Manoj shared multiple pictures of the veteran actor and some stills from the film's he featured, he wrote, "A legendary actor and a truly remarkable human being, Padma Shri Kota Srinivasa Rao Garu has left an indelible mark on Telugu cinema. Heartbroken to hear about the loss of my all time favourite actor. Your legacy will live on in our hearts and through generations to come sir. Om Shanti" Rohit Nara wrote, "It's deeply saddening to hear that Kota Srinivasa Rao garu is no more. A true legend of Telugu cinema, he was the epitome of versatility, effortlessly breathing life into every role he played. Whether it was Minister Kasayya, Lakshmipathi, Guru Narayana, Sambasivudu, Thadi Mattayya, or Alladdin, each character carved a lasting place in our hearts. Throwback to the time, when during an interview with IndiaGlitz Telugu, the actress shared her connection with Mahesh Babu during her early days. She revealed that she had actually known him even before they stepped into the limelight as actors. She shared that they used to go to the same college in Chennai. "When he was a college student in Chennai, we had common friends. That's how we first met. It was a simple 'hi-bye' kind of friendship then. None of us knew we'd end up working in films together", she said. Their casual acquaintance eventually turned into a professional relationship when they teamed up on film sets. But it was during this time that Trisha realised just how committed and hardworking Mahesh Babu truly was. "Mahesh is a hard worker," she shared. "He would be on the set from early morning until 10 at night. I genuinely felt bad after watching his dedication." She also mentioned that she never saw the 'Guntur Kaaram' actor go back to his caravan. Even if he's not part of the scene which is being done by other actors he would sit by the monitor, watch and learn. On the current work front, Trisha's latest film 'Thug Life' starring has been performing poorly at the box office. The movie is currently in production and also features international star Priyanka Chopra and Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran. Trisha was also seen in Ajith Kumar's recent hit film 'Good Bad Ugly'. Mahesh Babu who is usually seen in clean-cut and urbane looks, now sports a rugged appearance with long, curly hair and a thick beard, a look that is quite different from his usual style. He has undergone intensive physical training for a bulky and muscular look. The movie is touted to take inspiration from Hollywood's 'Indiana Jones' film series.
