RVNL edges higher after securing Rs 447 crore contract from Delhi Metro
Rail Vikas Nigam advanced 1.35% to Rs 387.50 after the company announced that it has received a letter of acceptance (LOA) from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for a project valued at Rs 447.42 crore. The contract, identified as D2C-02, involves the part design and construction of a 7.298-kilometer viaduct. This viaduct will span from chainage 1202.782m to chainage 8501.25m. The project also includes the construction of seven station platforms (Pushp Vihar, Saket District Court, Pushpa Bhawan, Chirag Delhi, GK-1, Andrews Ganj, and Lajpat Nagar), along with pre-engineered building structures at all stations along the Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block corridor. This work is part of the Delhi MRTS Phase-IV Project, the company stated. The project has to be completed within a period of 36 months. Rail Vikas Nigam is in the business of executing all types of railway projects, including new lines, doubling, gauge conversion, railway electrification, metro projects, workshops, major bridges, construction of cable-stayed bridges, institution buildings, etc. The company reported a 4.05% decrease in consolidated net profit to Rs 459.15 crore in Q4 FY25 as against Rs 478.56 crore posted in Q4 FY24. Revenue from operations slipped 4.27% YoY to Rs 6,426.88 crore in the quarter ended 31 March 2025.

RVNL rises 2% after bagging ₹447-crore order from Delhi Metro Rail
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) shares advanced 2.3 per cent on Tuesday, registering an intraday high at ₹391.4 per share after the company received a letter of acceptance (LoA) from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. At 9:35 AM, RVNL share price was trading higher by 1.09 per cent at ₹386.5 per share on the BSE. In comparison, the BSE Sensex was up 0.16 per cent at 82,388.29. The company's market capitalisation stood at ₹80,804.95 crore. The 52-week high of the stock was at ₹647 per share and the 52-week low of the stock was at ₹295.25 per share. RVNL bags ₹447-crore order Rail Vikas Nigam, on Monday, after market hours, informed that it has bagged an order from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. The project cost is ₹447,42,48,757.33 (inclusive of 18 per cent GST). Under the contract, RVNL will design and construct a 7.3 km viaduct and platform structures for seven stations under the Delhi Metro Phase IV project – Saket G Block to Lajpat Nagar corridor. The length of the project is 7.298 km (from chainage 1,202.782 m to 8,501.25 m). Stations include: Pushp Vihar, Saket District Court, Pushpa Bhawan, Chirag Delhi, GK-1 (Greater Kailash-1), Andrews Ganj and Lajpat Nagar. "It is hereby informed that Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has received LOA from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited for 'Contract D2C-02: "Part Design and Construction of viaduct of length 7.298 kms. from Chainage 1202.782 M to Chainage 8501.25 M including seven (07) stations (only platforms) namely Pushp Vihar, Saket District Court, Pushpa Bhawan, Chirag Delhi, GK-1, Andrews Ganj And Lajpat Nagar including Pre-Engineered Building Structure in all stations of Lajpat Nagar to Saket G block corridor of Delhi MRTS Phase-IV Project," the filing read. Other than this, in June, RVNL also emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a project awarded by South Central Railway, according to an exchange filing. The ₹213.2 crore project involved the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning for the upgradation of the overhead electrification (OHE) system from 1X25kV to 2X25kV. This includes feeder and earthing works in the Duvvada–Rajahmundry and Samalkot–Kakinada Port sections of the Vijayawada Division, covering a total of 195.5 RKM/391 TKM. Activist Medha Patkar arrested in 24-year-old VK Saxena defamation case
Within 48 hours of a non-bailable warrant being issued by the Saket District Court, Delhi Police on Friday arrested Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) activist Medha Patkar in a 24-year-old defamation case filed by the Lieutenant Governor (L-G) V K Thursday, the Delhi court issued a non-bailable warrant against Patkar for failing to pay the fine imposed on her in the contempt of court case linked to Saxena and for disobeying the court's order to appear before Sessions Judge (ASJ) Vishal Singh had ordered Medha Patkar to appear before the court on May 3, to review the report on the non-bailable warrant and any further action. The case pertains to Patkar's remarks on Saxena back in 2000, when she had allegedly called him a "coward" and alleged that he was involved in hawala current L-G of Delhi was then heading an NGO in Gujarat. While Saxena's NGO had openly supported the Gujarat government's Sardar Sarovar Project, the NBA was leading a movement against Patkar, in a press release dated November 25, 2000, alleged that Saxena was secretly supporting NBA's protests against the Gujarat government project. She further claimed the Saxena had forwarded a check to NBA, which year in May, a magistrate court observed that Patkar's remarks were defamatory in nature and convicted the activist, sentencing her to three months in jail. The court further ordered her to pay Rs 10 lakh in compensation to the complainant, VK note of her old age and worsening health, ASJ Singh suspended the sentence and granted her bail on July 29, 2024. However, the order to pay Rs 10 lakh in compensation and submit a probation bond remained in Vishal Singh had granted one-year probation to Patkar in connection with the case on April Wednesday, Patkar filed an application, requesting the proceedings against her to be paused, citing a pending appeal before the High Patkar's prayer, the Delhi court said there was no such directive given by the High Court in its April 22 order and was still required to comply with the April 8 order of the sessions court. The Delhi court further noted that it was a deliberate attempt by Patkar to deceive the of appearing before court and complying with the April 8 order, Patkar remained absent from the proceedings while refusing to submit the amount.
