The first person, who was behind the wheel during the accident, is accused of running over the victim and fleeing the scene without offering help or calling emergency services. Authorities confirmed that the accident was caused by reckless driving, carelessness, and complete disregard for other road users. The second individual, a garage owner, was arrested for illegally repairing the damaged vehicle involved in the crash. Under UAE law, garages are not allowed to fix vehicles involved in accidents unless they receive proper clearance from the relevant traffic authority. Senior Advocate General Counsellor Salah Bu Farousha Al Falasi, head of Dubai Traffic Prosecution, urged all drivers to remain alert and follow traffic regulations. He stressed that fleeing the scene of an accident that causes injury is a serious crime, except in cases of extreme and justifiable emergency. According to the latest amendments to the UAE Traffic Law, drivers involved in such accidents must report the incident to the authorities within three hours. Failing to do so, or attempting to cover up the crime, will lead to strict legal action.

Dubai: Driver arrested in hit-and-run case causing serious injury
Dubai's Traffic Prosecution has ordered the arrest of two individuals following a serious hit-and-run incident. The first individual was involved in a run-over accident that caused severe injuries to the victim. The accused fled the accident scene instead of stopping to help. He also failed to provide assistance or first aid. Authorities say the accident was a result of reckless driving, negligence, and a disregard for the safety of others. The second accused, a garage owner, is being charged for repairing the damaged vehicle without securing a permit from the proper traffic authority, an illegal act under UAE law. Senior Advocate General Counselor Salah Bu Farousha Al Falasi, Head of the Traffic Prosecution, called on all drivers to stay alert, follow traffic laws, and prioritise the safety of everyone on the road. He stressed that leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries is a serious offence unless there is an extreme and justifiable emergency. Drivers must report such accidents within three hours, in line with the latest amendments to the Traffic Law. Authorities warn that any attempt to escape responsibility, whether by drivers or those aiding them, will be met with firm legal action.
