Preview of Dine Springfield Restaurant Week
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Dine Springfield Restaurant Week is around the corner and local businesses are getting ready to showcase their menus to the 25 restaurants are already signed up to participate, many of them creating special menus just for the occasion. On Wednesday, the media got to sample foods from Bridge22 in the Marriott Hotel, the Student Prince, White Lion Brewing Company, Boricua Bites, Costa in MGM Springfield, as well as Panjabi Tadka. Springfield's 'X' intersection construction project begins 'It drives visitors here. I spoke to someone earlier today and they were like 'We get so many new people that come to my restaurant during restaurant week, so it's great, it's great for local business in that way,' Springfield Business Improvement District Marketing Director Samantha Savoie told 22News. From German and Italian to Indian and Mediterranean, and also BBQ and American, there is a restaurant for everyone, even a vegan option. It is free for restaurants in Springfield to sign up! Dine Springfield Restaurant Week begins June 6th and ends on the 15th. Springfield BID holds annual meeting to boost business growth downtown
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield Business Improvement District held its annual meeting Thursday morning. The organization is made up of property owners and commercial tenants who are dedicated to improving the quality of life in downtown Springfield. The BID covers 26 blocks that serve as a hub for culture and entertainment. Their mission is to help facilitate growth in the community. Marketing Director Samantha Savoie told 22News, 'A lot of what we do is in collaboration with the city and the local metro. We are trying to create a space where people want to live, work, and play.' The BID is also preparing for Springfield Restaurant Week. That takes place on June 6th through the 15th. Restaurants that are interested in participating have until May 1st to register.
