Blow for 5million Brits as Samsung STRIPS features from major update – and could even delay its release date
SAMSUNG has stripped features from its latest update in a massive blow to millions of Brits. The phone company routinely puts out new software to address any flaws or stability issues. 1 But the latest beta version of the One UI 8 has left many speculating whether the company needs more time to refine its latest tech. Whilst the new software is a more "stable-looking" build to the last BYFB update many have warned it's missing key features such as an adaptive lock screen. ROLL-OUT DELAYS Experts at Sammobile, who tested the upgrade, also told shoppers not "to expect too many changes apart from some missing features". They believe the firm is now working on a fourth version for the Galaxy S25 series to fix current bugs. This could delay the roll-out of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Edge, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung is prioritising "stability" and "functionality" over speed, they added. SOFTWARE BENEFITS Samsung said its latest updates will better incorporate AI to make features more "intuitive" for its users. Its latest piece of software will feature intelligent multimodality too - providing users with assistance based off what they're looking at on-screen. Elsewhere, Samsung has quietly upgraded one of its popular features used to send friends photos and videos. Samsung reveals its brand new foldable smartphones - and its cheapest model yet QUICK SHARE BOOST Quick Share is the company's very own file sharing tool which not only works between phones nearby but also uploading them onto the web. Until recently, you were limited to 5GB per day free but users have noticed that the allowance has been doubled to 10GB, allowing people to send much larger files than before. This is especially useful for longer, high quality videos. Quick Share for files locally via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct require both devices to be Galaxy. But one of the great things about Quick Share is the recipient of files shared online via a link don't have to own a Galaxy phone to download them. SLICK NEW PHONES The tech giant has unveiled a trio of new foldable smartphones that are thinner and lighter than before. This includes a new Galaxy Z Fold7 for those wanting to seamlessly switch to a big screen experience, the Galaxy Z Flip7 for a compact handset, as well as a cheaper Galaxy Z Filp7 FE. On the Galaxy Z Fold7, Samsung has managed to bring the weight down to 215g (less than an iPhone 16 Pro Max) and the thickness to 8.9mm folded. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is the thinnest the range has seen yet at 6.5mm when folded - and the battery size has been increased despite the slimming down.

Green line during One UI update? Here's video proof of it happening on a Galaxy S21 FE
TL;DR A user documented the appearance of the dreaded 'green line' issue on their Galaxy S21 FE's AMOLED display during a One UI 6.1 software update. Despite thousands of affected users across multiple device lines, Samsung does not have a transparent policy for addressing these known green-line screen defects. For years, green line issues have plagued AMOLED displays across flagship and mid-range phones. Some OEMs like OnePlus offer a lifetime display warranty against green line issues in certain markets, but most other OEMs have left the consumer to fend for themselves. The problem is that the green line appears on the device without the user's fault, usually around an update. While we have seen many, many, many photos of the green line issue so far, we now have a video recording of the green line appearing on a device while an update is being applied. Reddit user kingshukroy01 (spotted by Sammobile) stuck to One UI 6 on their Samsung Galaxy S21 FE for fear of getting a green line when they apply the impending One UI 6.1 update. Note that this One UI 6.1 update rolled out in May 2024 for the S21 FE, so the user has been avoiding the update for over a year already, despite One UI's update installation reminders every day! Fed up with the reminders, the user finally installed the One UI 6.1 update. Guess what happened next? Before update After update Since the user feared the worst, they recorded a video of the device update process. Unfortunately, their worst fear materialized, and the phone gradually got a green line on the display during the update process. Unfortunately for the user, Samsung does not have a publicly informed, on-the-record policy for handling green line issues. The user approached Samsung's service center, where they were told they needed to produce a purchase invoice for their two-and-a-half-year-old device, which they don't have. So it is unclear if the user will get any relief for an issue recorded to come with a software update through no fault of their own. It's a ridiculous situation all around, one that makes you lose faith in AMOLED displays as a whole, and certainly doesn't inspire confidence in Samsung for your next smartphone purchase. We've contacted Samsung India for more information on the company's policy for dealing with green line issues and what steps it has taken to prevent the problem from cropping up on newer smartphones. We'll keep you updated if and when we learn more. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ . You can stay anonymous or get credit for the info, it's your choice.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 expected to launch with Exynos 2500 chip? Here is what you need to know
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 new chipset leaks: The smartphone market is buzzing with the newest speculations about Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7. This highly anticipated smartphone is supposed to include some interesting new capabilities, and tech fans are anxious to discover more. If recent leaks are to be believed, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could revolutionize the foldable smartphone market. In this post, we'll look at the latest news and rumors about this gadget, including what we know so far and what to expect from Samsung's next-generation foldable. We'll examine everything from anticipated updates to release date rumors. Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7 expected launch The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 should become official in early July, alongside One UI 8. Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7 new chipset According to Sammobile sources, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will use the Exynos 2500 processor in most regions, including India and South Korea. This is the first time an Exynos processor will be used in a Galaxy Z series phone. It has the model number S5E9955 and replaces last year's Exynos 2400 (S5E9945) processor, which was utilized in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ in most countries worldwide. The Exynos 2500 is a 3nm chip built by Samsung's in-house chip company, System LSI, and manufactured using Samsung Foundry's second-generation 3nm production node. According to prior reports, it has a 10-core CPU, an Xclipse 950 GPU (based on the AMD RDNA 3.5 architecture), and 16MB of L3 cache. Samsung often employs Exynos CPUs in its high-end phones in most countries, with the exception of Canada, China, and the United States. It will be the same with the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Samsung could continue with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Chinese and North American markets. The Exynos 2500 may be a better option for thin phones like the Galaxy Z Flip 7, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite gets hot in ultra-thin phones like the Galaxy S25 Edge. However, things will only become clearer after we review the phone in the following months. Also Read: Samsung Galaxy S25 FE launch timeline surfaced online: Expected to make a debut with Exynos 2400e chip, 4,700 mAh battery, 120Hz refresh rate, and more Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7 expected specifications Rumors have circulated about the Galaxy Z Flip 7's storage and RAM variations. The clamshell is now believed to come with 12GB of storage (no 16GB variation or anything spectacular to expect here), as well as the standard 256GB and 512GB of non-expandable storage. We are unlikely to receive a 1TB option. Previously, it was anticipated that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 would not have significant design updates. However, freshly published renders suggest that the Z Flip 7 will feature a revamped cover display, which may be larger than previous models. The Flip 7 maintains its clean, flat edges and will be available in a variety of bright, vivid colors. We may notice fresh blues, greens, silver, or white. The phone should maintain its robust build and solid hinge as before. In the meanwhile, many people are worrying about the crease. Samsung practically eliminated it with the Z Flip 6, so the Flip 7 will make it even less noticeable. Even if the phone becomes slimmer for a sleeker appearance, it is likely to feel strong and well-built, just like its predecessor. Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7 expected price According to speculations, Samsung plans to keep its foldables priced the same this year. If this is accurate, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 might start at $1,099 for 256GB of storage. For the latest and more interesting tech news, keep reading Indiatimes Tech.
