Browns RB Jerome Ford returns to practice after missing first week of training camp

As the Cleveland Browns enter their second week of training camp, they got running back Jerome Ford back on the field. Ford, now a fourth-year running back, missed the first week with a hamstring injury. He remained limited in his return to the practice field. This left the Browns short-handed at running back as they continue to work through the legal situation of second round pick Quinshon Judkins as well. This led to the team signing UFL running back Toa Taua to fill out their running back room. With Ford out, it was fourth round pick Dylan Sampson who got the bulk of the first-team reps for the Browns. Overhauling the running back room, Sampson starts on a level playing field with the other backs in the room. Even with Ford returning to practice, the former SEC Offensive Player of the Year and Tennessee star, Sampson, has a chance to steal the opportunity in front of him. This could be Ford's last chance to make an impact with the Browns after two lackluster seasons with the lion's share of carries in his possession. Ford restructured his contract this offseason to take a pay cut with more guaranteed money upfront to retain his roster spot. It's now or never for the former Cincinnati Bearcat.

What it's like inside Australia's biggest train museum: an insider's view

"You can look out the window and the scenery changes enormously," he said. Split across two pavilions, there are 60 exhibits on display including diesel and steam locomotives, freight trains and wagons, carriages, dining and sleeping cars, while another 40 are hidden away. These pieces of history don't just sit there; they can be moved around, thanks to the different gauges. Most of the collection is from former Commonwealth and South Australian railways, plus privately-run operations by BHP and Silverton Tramway, among others. A walk past the display cells in the Fitch Pavilion shares information about women in the railways, plus a model railway, theatrette, train departure board and a train simulator. Outside, entrants can go for a ride on a ride on a small one-foot-six gauge steam train around the grounds, while on special days it's possible to ride on a 1950s-style suburban rail car, pulled by a diesel locomotive. There's also more to explore inside the goods shed. PHOTOS: Locomotives and carriages from years gone by at the National Railway Museum Mr Sampson said carriages from the Tea and Sugar Train were among the most popular displays. The train ran across the Nullarbor for 60 years, supporting the railway families from Port Augusta to Kalgoorlie. "When they get in the old butcher's van, old provision store, or bank car and start to read up on it, they start to really appreciate just how valuable those items are and also the purpose that they served," he said. Mr Sampson's favourite display is the 900 class diesel-electric locomotive, named Lady Norrie. It was built in 1951 in Adelaide and was the first mainline operational diesel locomotive in Australia. He travelled on it during the start of his career, and to work on it again at the museum was "quite a realistic time tunnel." Picture supplied Mr Sampson worked in railways for 41 years, starting as a ticket collector on suburban trains, and later worked in public relations with Australian National Railways and other roles with Australian Rail Track Corporation before retiring. He's been associated with the museum since 1968, starting off as a teen helping with painting, mowing lawns, and driving the small steam engine, but has since taken over marketing, project managing and budgets. "It's understanding how it all fits together," he said. But he also loves getting hands-on, like jumping on a shunting engine. Retired locomotive driver and trainer Mr Holmes works behind the scenes, digitising a vast collection of material including rosters of what trains ran on any particular day, steam engine service records, and more. Among his favourite trains on display is the 520 class steam locomotive, which he used to clean at the start of his career, and the 930 class diesel locomotive, which he drove during his working career. Mr Holmes recalls driving steam engines through the Adelaide Hills, and it was the amount of water they went through that was most surprising. "Imagine trying to boil a kettle as you're putting cold water in them at the same time," he said. National Railway Museum is at 76 Lipson St, Port Adelaide.

Browns RB Dylan Sampson an excellent fantasy football value pick

There isn't a lot of hype around the Cleveland Browns for fantasy football right now. With the quarterback situation in flux and the team resetting for the future, the offense is not ripe for production. Through the mess that currently is the Browns' running back room, a beautiful hidden gem may be sitting in plain sight. With Quinshon Judkins throwing a major wrench in the team's game plan, Dylan Sampson could quickly become one of the best values in fantasy football. It was expected that the Browns would return to a ground-and-pound approach to the offense as the quarterback situation settles. Whether it would be a veteran like Joe Flacco or a rookie like Shedeur Sanders, leaning on the run game between rookies Judkins, Sampson, and incumbent Jerome Ford seems like the best path for the team. This approach is something the team was forced to abandon to accommodate Deshaun Watson, but with that no longer being the case, head coach and offensive mind Kevin Stefanski can once again play the way he wants. Then, Judkins got into trouble. Between his open domestic violence case and the series of fellow second-rounders who had gone until the last minute without signing a deal, Judkins remains without his, and his status to start the season remains unknown. As training camp gets underway, this will open the door for Sampson to take the lead role. Jerome Ford will likely get first-team snaps, but a competition should trend positively for Sampson. Sampson was frequently considered a top-six or so running back in a class stacked at the position, and with such fell to the fourth round. His pairing with Judkins seemed like an excellent combination of play styles, but should Judkins miss some time, Sampson should be in a position for a workhorse role. Currently at RB54 per he's going in the range as other true backups like former Brown Nick Chubb, and just ahead of Ford. That makes him essentially free in drafts, a late-round flyer, or even a free agent to start the year. Sampson was likely undervalued previously, with most of the hype focused on Judkins. In reality, he, too, was going to see plenty of work and possibly even a passing-down role. Now, at minimum, he's a strong handcuff who may return excellent early-season results. It's quite possible he can work into a larger role with this new opportunity and become one of fantasy's best values. The Lincoln Lawyer actor to star opposite Schindler's List icon for action thriller

The Lincoln Lawyer star Angus Sampson has been keeping himself busy with a couple of projects away from the Netflix legal drama. WARNING: This article contains spoilers from The Lincoln Lawyer. ‌ Angus Sampson will feature in two upcoming films as fans anticipate The Lincoln Lawyer's comeback. ‌ Netflix viewers are sitting on tenterhooks, desperately hoping The Lincoln Lawyer's fourth series will arrive sooner rather than later following that nail-biting finale which witnessed Mickey Haller (portrayed by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) getting nicked on suspicion of murder. ‌ When the courtroom drama eventually returns, Mickey's mates and workmates are certain to pull out all the stops to assist him, including private detective Cisco Wojciechowski (Angus Sampson). Whilst details regarding The Lincoln Lawyer's fourth series launch date remain under wraps, Sampson has been grafting on several ventures. His first undertaking will be the adrenaline-fueled survival thriller Deep Water, which is currently in post-production. The official synopsis for Deep Water states: "A group of international passengers en route from Los Angeles to Shanghai are forced to make an emergency landing in shark-infested waters. "Now they must work together in hopes to overcome the frenzy of sharks drawn to the wreckage." ‌ Beyond the gripping storyline, Deep Water boasts a familiar cast appearing alongside Sampson, which is guaranteed to draw audiences. Spearheading the production is actor Aaron Eckhart, who'll be recognised for his portrayal of Harvey Dent in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight back in 2008. ‌ Joining them is the legendary Ben Kingsley, known for his roles in Schindler's List and Gandhi, who will also feature in the forthcoming Netflix film The Thursday Murder Club. Alongside Deep Water, Sampson is set to reprise his role as father Dom Chalmers in the Australian BBC sitcom Bump for its festive special. The series concluded after five seasons last year, but fans can look forward to a film adaptation where the extended family embarks on a South American cruise. Oly (Nathalie Morris) and Santi (Carlos Sanson Jr) found their happy ending and will be holidaying with their second baby Angelo, who is just a few months old. The Lincoln Lawyer is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
