Smartphone deals include free earbuds and smartwatches
Shoppers can choose their freebie when purchasing a Samsung S25 or Google Pixel device Shopping for a new smartphone can be a tiresome task with there being so many models and deals available. Mobile phone comparison site is currently offering a variety of devices that come with fabulous freebies. The retailer brings consumers the most budget-friendly deals on the market, comparing what each mobile provider is offering in terms of price and the amount of minutes, texts and data. As well as snapping up a Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel phone, shoppers will be able to get their hands on a useful freebie worth over £100 to use with their new device. Up for grabs is a pair of earbuds or a smartwatch from Google or Samsung, depending on which phone is being purchased. There's a catch, however, as these freebies are only available to shoppers interested in a pay-per-month plan for a Samsung S25 or Google Pixel device. As reported by the Express, it's not just the freebies that are tempting customers, as selected plans offer a more cost-effective way to use data. Some offer five times the usual amount, meaning customers can get 500GB for the price of 100GB. The first deal worth checking out at that comes with a free gift is the Google Pixel 9 (256GB). Prices start at £27 per month with an upfront cost of £150, while the 128GB version has a monthly cost of £27 and an upfront cost of £70. Customers who purchase the Google Pixel 9 can choose one of the following free gifts; Pixel Buds A Series (worth £109), Pixel Buds Pro 2 (worth £219), or a Pixel Watch 3 41mm (worth £349). The Google Pixel 9 features built-in AI, a 6.3-inch display, a long-lasting 4700mAh battery, and a 50MP dual-lens camera. For shoppers solely wanting to purchase a smartphone and keep their current contract, GiffGaff has slashed £400 off the alternative Google Pixel 9 Pro. This device can be purchased for a one-off price of £679, down from £1,079, or the cost can be spread with monthly instalments starting at £20. is also tempting Samsung fans with the Galaxy S25 Ultra 256GB that has monthly payments kicking off at £51 a month with an upfront charge of £125. Shoppers who opt for this device can choose from either a pair of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro (worth £219) or a Galaxy Watch 7 40mm (worth £199). EE is offering its customers with the alternative Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge 5G, offering contracts from £31.71 over 36 months. Buyers also have the flexibility to set their own upfront fee, starting at £30. A satisfied customer shared their experience on Trustpilot, stating: "Straightforward process changing suppliers. Was kept up to date every step of the way." However another customer was less than impressed, noting: "Could not transfer old mobile number as this company uses ID mobile and as I was already a customer of ID mobile, they could not transfer the number internally, which I find unbelievable." In contrast, someone else was impressed: "Very affordable and well detailed. The people are very friendly and respectful."

The new Samsung S25 Edge is a groundbreaking phone because it is the first in a new generation of ultra-thin and light smartphones that do not sacrifice power and performance. Samsung has been first to market with their new slimline phone and the dimensions are impressive. It measures just 5.8mm and weighs just 163 grams, which is thinner and lighter than standard Samsung S25 models and its iPhone 16 rival. The handset itself does not come cheap at £1,099 for the 256GB storage model and £1,199 for the 512GB version. However, there is a tempting deal available on Sky Mobile as pre orders open on the new phone. Sky is offering the 512GB version for the price of the 256GB version and its best contract deal is offering the handset for free up front and a £40 a month deal. It also includes the Samsung Bud3 Pro worth £219 as part of the deal. You can get it here. Samsung itself is also offering the double storage deal but those looking for a contract deal with the cost of the phone spread across the contract can do so using the Sky deal. Sky is not the only brand offering the phone for pre orders. O2 is selling the phone for £56 per month and £30 up front, while EE is selling it for £31.71 and £30 up front. The phone itself is available in silver, 'icyblue' and 'jetblack'. The Titanium phone also uses a new type of Gorilla glass to improve the strength of the phone despite the smaller dimensions and Samsung has promised the same Snapdragon 8 ® Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy processor, 200MP camera and Galaxy AI. Photographically, we have the luxury of having a camera in our pocket. We might just call it 'the phone', but an iPhone 16 Pro, Google Pixel 9 Pro or Samsung S25, has a seriously smart camera, and a series of lenses. We have the luxury of being able to point and shoot, and our smartphone camera will pull out just about all the tricks in the book to make us look like a brilliant photographer. We travellers then have the luxury of a wide range of light, high quality mirrorless cameras — the Sony range, Canon's R7, Nikon's Z8, and the Panasonic Lumix and Olympus OM ranges, for example. And then there is the seriously 'luxury' end of digital photography. I've just spotted a Hasselblad H6D-100c medium format DSLR camera in a sale. This camera has a recommended retail price of $58,309 — but in this online sale, this price has a line through it and it is replaced by a price of $58,299. Ten dollars off! (Sign me up now!) (By the way, would you like a lens with that camera body? The Hasselblad XCD 28mm f/4 P lens is a mere $3020. But for sheer 'isn't that beautiful' luxury, you'd have to track down a Leica R3 Electronic Gold 'Oskar Barnack 100th Anniversary'. It's like jewellery-and-camera rolled into one. Just 1000 cameras were made in 1979 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Oskar Barnack, the inventor of the LEICA camera. Plated in 24 carat gold and with a lizard skin covering, the front of the prism housing is engraved with Barnack's signature and the dates '1879-1979'.
