Mawra Hocane's Instagram Blocked Again, Was Visible In India Due To 'Technical Error'
Last Updated: On July 1, Instagram users in India noticed that they could see Mawra's handle, which was banned a couple of months back after the tensions between India and Pakistan escalated. Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane's Instagram account has been suspended in India once again. On Thursday, social media users in India noticed that they were unable to access Mawra's handle. Instead, it reads a message which states, 'Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content." Besides Mawra Hocane, Instagram handles of other Pakistani actors, including Yumna Zaidi, Danish Taimoor and Ahad Raza Mir have also been suspended once again. On July 1, Instagram users in India noticed that they could see Mawra's handle, which was banned a couple of months back after the tensions between India and Pakistan escalated. While Mawra's account was visible, Instagram handles of other Pakistani artists, including Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Atif Aslam and Fawad Khan, remained 'unavailable". However, if a report by Hindustan Times is to be believed, officials familiar with the matter clarified that the temporary visibility was due to a technical error. Mawra gained popularity in India after she starred in the 2016 Bollywood film Sanam Teri Kasam alongside Harshvardhan Rane. However, after the shocking terror attack in Pahalgam in April this year, which killed 26 people, the tensions between India and Pakistan escalated, following which the Indian government announced a complete ban on Pakistani artists and banned their Instagram accounts in the country. Later, Mawra was also removed from the sequel of Sanam Teri Kasam. Harshvardhan Rane had also issued a statement on Instagram, in which he revealed that he would refuse to be a part of Sanam Teri Kasam 2 if the producers went ahead with the same cast. 'While I am grateful for the experience however as things stand, and after reading the direct comments made about my country, I have made a decision to respectfully decline to be a part of 'Sanam Teri Kasam' part 2 if there is any possibility of the previous cast being repeated," he had written. However, the makers later announced that Mawra has been removed from the film's franchise. 'Mawra definitely nahi hai (Mawra is definitely not a part of it)," the film's directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru told Hindi Rush. First Published: July 03, 2025, 17:10 IST

Rakhi Sawant backs Diljit Dosanjh's Sardaar Ji 3, calls Hania Aamir her 'favourite' amid ongoing controversy
Diljit Dosanjh's upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3 has been embroiled in controversies ever since the makers went ahead with casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. The singer-turned-actor had to face massive backlash. As a result, the makers of Sardaar Ji 3 decided not to release the film in India but overseas. Amid the ongoing controversy, Rakhi Sawant, who shares a cordial bond with Hania Aamir, came out in support of Diljit and his film. Rakhi Supports Diljit Dosanjh, Hania Aamir's Sardaar Ji 3 Taking to social media platform Instagram, Rakhi posted a short video clip featuring both Diljit and Hania from their movie. Rakhi expressed her excitement and praised Hania for stepping into Bollywood. She wrote, 'Congratulations my sweetheart Hania Aamir. I'm so happy. Finally, you are in Bollywood films. Congratulations Diljit, Sardaar Ji 3.' In another post, Rakhi also urged people outside the country to watch the film and support Hania for her big debut. She said, 'Everyone should watch this movie. Sardaar Ji 3—Hania Aamir, she's making her debut. Everyone should appreciate her. She's my favourite. All the best. Congratulations Hania. Allah bless you.' Take a look here: The Backlash Against Diljit When tensions between India and Pakistan were at their peak, many Bollywood filmmakers dropped Pakistani actors whom they had cast for their films, including Fawad Khan in Abir Gulal and Mawra Hocane for Sanam Teri Kasam 2. However, when Diljit Dosanjh's Sardaar Ji 3 trailer came out and fans discovered that Hania was still in the film, it created a huge uproar. Several Indian film industry bodies, including the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), objected to her casting. They argued that involving a Pakistani actor is insensitive to national sentiments and have even demanded a ban on Diljit Dosanjh and his upcoming projects in India.

Diljit Dosanjh's Sardaar Ji 3 Gets Pakistan Release; Indian Fans Outraged: 'This Is Shameful'
Last Updated: The decision to release the movie, co-starring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, in Pakistan has sparked massive outrage online, with Diljit's Indian fans calling the move 'shameful'. In a move that has left fans across India shocked and disappointed, Diljit Dosanjh's upcoming Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3 is set to release in Pakistan on June 27, despite ongoing tensions between the two nations. The decision to release the movie, co-starring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, in Pakistan has sparked massive outrage online, with Diljit's Indian fans calling the move 'shameful" and 'disrespectful," especially in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack in April this year, where 26 innocent civilians were killed. Screenshots of theatre listings from Pakistani cities like Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Faisalabad and Sialkot have now gone viral on social media, confirming that Sardaar Ji 3 will have a full-fledged theatrical run across the border. The controversy has prompted not just from the film's release but also from the casting of Hania Aamir at a time when Indian film bodies have taken a hard stance against working with Pakistani artists. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), which has historically protested such collaborations, reiterated its demand for a ban on Pakistani talent after the recent terror attack. The film's trailer is also not accessible in India. Users attempting to watch it on YouTube are met with the message: 'This video is not available in your country." Despite the uproar, the producers released a statement claiming that the film had been shot 'well before the prevailing situation," and that Hania was cast before the Pahalgam tragedy. 'We had decided not to release the film or any of its promotional content in India until the situation becomes opportune," the statement read, describing the decision as one made out of 'solidarity" with the country. But fans aren't buying it. Diljit, who commands a massive fan base in India and overseas, is being called out for continuing to promote the film while remaining silent on the backlash. Instagram comment sections on his recent posts are flooded with disappointment. 'Shame on you, Diljit," wrote one user. 'Boycott Sardaar Ji 3," said another. A third added, 'Country first. You lost a fan today." This has opened a fresh debate about celebrity accountability in times of national distress. Actor Suniel Shetty recently took a strong stance supporting the ban on Pakistani artists, saying, 'Art and cricket can't happen with people who kill our innocents." Similarly, actor Harshvardhan Rane decided to exit the upcoming Sanam Teri Kasam 2 over the possible inclusion of Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane. The producers eventually confirmed her removal from the cast, bowing to the growing public sentiment. In stark contrast, Diljit's continued association with Sardaar Ji 3 and his support for its overseas release even in Pakistan has upset many. What's added more fuel to the fire is that the film doesn't just feature Hania Aamir but several other Pakistani actors, including Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela, are also part of the ensemble. Directed by Amar Hundal, Sardaar Ji 3 is a horror-comedy that revolves around ghost hunters (played by Diljit and Hania) tackling supernatural events in a haunted UK mansion. Neeru Bajwa also stars in a pivotal role. In his first comment on the issue, Diljit told BBC Asian Network, 'Jab yeh film bani thi, tab sab theek tha… Producers ka paisa laga hua hai… Film bann chuki thi before tensions started." He added that he supports the producers' decision to release it overseas, acknowledging the financial risks they face. FWICE has now urged the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to deny a release certificate to Sardaar Ji 3, claiming that the film goes 'against national interest." While the film may be finding screens in foreign markets, its rejection in its home country by both institutions and fans sends a loud and clear message. The incident has raised some urgent questions – Can art really remain apolitical in the face of terrorism? Should filmmakers and stars be more conscious of the broader national implications of their decisions? It remains to be seen whether Diljit will break his silence and confront the backlash head-on or if the controversy will continue to snowball. First Published:

Bad news for Diljit Dosanjh as his film Sardaar Ji 3 faces backlash after…; Related to Operation Sindoor
Ever since Diljit Dosanjh's film Sardaar Ji 3 has been released, the internet has been divided into two sections. A major chunk of the internet is 'disgusted' by the trailer because it featured Pakistani actor Hania Aamir amid tensions between India and Pakistan. On Reddit, a social media user posted 'guts' with a snip of Diljit and Hania. Ever since the trailer was released, it has received massive backlash from the audience. Initially, when the India-Pakistan tensions escalated, many directors who had cast Pakistani actors such as Fawad Khan in Abir Gulaal and Mawra Hocane in Sanam Teri Kasam 2 removed them. The news also claimed that Hania Aamir had also been dropped from Sardaar Ji 3. However, now that the trailer has surfaced online, Diljit is being highly criticised and is facing major trolling. One person wrote, 'Never spoke a word during the war… now we know why… I liked him, but the opinion is now changing highly.' 'Honestly, I don't think Diljit holds any affinity and love towards India, so I really don't expect him to be pro-India, but I hope now at least the border makers will remove him from a film based on the life of our army,' read another comment. Guts! Hania is actually staring in Sardaarji 3 with on June 27 byu/SinkThink113 inBollyBlindsNGossip 'You can't expect anything better from Diljit. He has always been very clear about his ideologies,' commented a Reddit user. Meanwhile, reports also claim that Diljit's film has skipped the India release. In the movie, Hania and Diljit's characters are ghost hunters. Sharing the video on Instagram, Diljit captioned it, 'Sardaar Ji 3 Releasing 27th June OVERSEAS Only. FADH LAO BHOOND DIAN LATTAN.' The movie also features Manav Vij, Gulshan Grover, Jasmin Bajwa, Sapna Pabbi, and others in prominent roles.
