Man Utd given renewed Jadon Sancho transfer hope as new club enters the race

Jadon Sancho isn't thought to have any future at Manchester United after a year out on loan but the identity of the England international's next club has yet to be determined Manchester United have been given a glimmer of hope that an auction for Jadon Sancho could help drive up the winger's price. Chelsea opted against signing the England international at the end of his season-long loan, but a second new club has now entered the race. Fenerbahce were already linked with Sancho, who has found things tough at Old Trafford since joining in a big-money move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. Jose Mourinho aren't the only side in the mix, though, it has been claimed. ‌ According to The Sun, Juventus are now ready to test United's resolve. The Serie A club are looking to add to their ranks after installing Igor Tudor as manager, and Sancho is said to be a target. ‌ Juve endured a difficult season last term, but Tudor helped them sneak into the final Champions League qualification spot after replacing Thiago Motta in March. The Bianconeri are also through to the last 16 of the Club World Cup, where they will face Real Madrid. They faced Manchester City on Thursday, with the winner knowing they would likely avoid Los Blancos and set up a meeting with Al Hilal. The game was delicately poised at the break, with City 2-1 ahead, only for Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Savinho to all score in the second half to earn a 5-2 win. Fenerbahce had reportedly been hopeful of getting a deal over the line for as little as £15million. With a second club now in the mix, though, that could change. Chelsea's loan deal for Sancho included an obligation to buy the player for around £25m. However, they also had the option of paying £5m to get out of that obligation and did just that - despite the winger scoring in their Conference League final victory. If United are able to cash in on Sancho, it could help free up transfer funds and wage budget. Ruben Amorim's side have already completed their first signing of the season, with Matheus Cunha joining in a £62.5m move from Wolves, and further ins and outs are anticipated. ‌ Bryan Mbeumo is also set to move to Old Trafford, with the Brentford star due to arrive for a similar sum. With two attacking players on the way in, logic dictates that there will be no room for at least one other member of the front-line. Like Sancho, both Marcus Rashford and Antony finished last season out on loan. Both have been tipped for summer exits, as has Alejandro Garnacho, as Amorim aims to streamline his squad.

Man Utd face Jadon Sancho sale problem despite two clubs meeting asking price

There is plenty of interest in signing Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho this summer, but his wages are a huge problem in getting a deal done. The 25-year-old has proved to be a disastrous signing for the Red Devils, making just 83 appearances since his £73m move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. A breakdown in relations with former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag saw Sancho loaned back to Dortmund in the 2023/24 season and then to Chelsea for the entirety of the last campaign. The Blues had an option to make that move permanent but opted not to, despite the England winger making 41 appearances in all competitions for them. The London-born winger is now back at Manchester United but wants to move and the club want to sell, hoping to recoup some of the money spent on him as he heads into the final year of his contract at Old Trafford. A number of clubs are interested in signing Sancho, most notably in Serie A, where champions Napoli and Juventus are keen on doing a deal. The Red Devils want £25m for the winger and both Italian clubs are willing to meet that demand, but the player's wages are the problem. Sancho reportedly earns around £250,000-a-week thanks to the bumper deal he signed with Manchester United when he joined from Dortmund four years ago. Neither Juventus nor Napoli will pay him that amount and are keen on negotiating a loan deal which would see Manchester United continue to cover some of his wages. GiveMeSport report that Napoli have already held talks with the player's camp, while Sky Italy report that Juventus have organised a video call with Manchester United in order to thrash out a deal. 2024/25 Apps: 19 (12) Goals: 3 Assists: 4 2023/24 Apps: 0 (3) Goals: 0 Assists: 0 (loaned to Borussia Dortmund) 2022/23 Apps: 21 (5) Goals: 6 Assists: 3 2021/22 Apps: 20 (9) Goals: 3 Assists: 3 Reports have suggested that the Turin giants could offer striker Dusan Vlahovic as part of a swap deal for Sancho. The Premier League club do not want to loan Sancho out for a third time and want a permanent sale, so there is going to have to be some movement from one side or the other. Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce are also interested in the Manchester United outcast, but have not made a move further than an inquiry at this stage. Former Liverpool and Tottenham star Danny Murphy reckons Chelsea should have taken up their option to sign Sancho for £25m. More Trending 'I'd like to think people evolve, young players especially, you have to give them time to make mistakes,' Murphy said on talkSPORT. 'But I actually think he's done alright for Chelsea this season when I've seen him. 'His technical ability is brilliant. Very rarely gives the ball away, now end product is a question mark. He's played in a lot of big games, and that's because he's reliable with the ball and he knows his job. 'He's a bright footballer. He turned up at Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world, when he was 20 and because they paid a huge amount for him which was inflated, he was expected to hit [the ground running]. United finished 15th last season and also failed to qualify for the Champions League after losing to Tottenham in the Europa League final. The likes of Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof have all left the club on free transfers, while Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia are expected to be sold. ‌ United have already forked out £62.5million to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves and they are also working on a deal for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, having lodged an improved bid worth more than £60m. ‌ With all that in mind, Mirror Football has taken a look at some of the latest transfer news and rumours from Old Trafford... Sancho talks Manchester United have reportedly held talks with Juventus over a deal for Jadon Sancho, with Fenerbahce also interested in the winger. According to reports from Italy, Juventus were keen to find out how feasible a move for Sancho is and club chiefs had a video call with United on Wednesday to discuss a deal. Juventus are keen to sign a new winger, with both Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula expected to leave. However, reports from Turkey have claimed that Sancho has agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce. They are said to be willing to pay Sancho €10m (£8.5m) per year, while United have set a price tag of around €20m (£17m). Nkunku hint Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has opened the door for Christopher Nkunku to leave the club this summer, with Manchester United said to be interested in the forward. ‌ Nkunku has struggled for regular gametime since joining the Blues from RB Leipzig two years ago and when asked about the player's future, Maresca said: "If Christo is here with us, it is because we think he can help us and he can be with us even next season. But as you said, there are many speculations, not just about Christo, about many players. "And then if something is going to happen, I don't know because we said many times when the transfer window is open, anything can happen in terms of players that can arrive or players that can leave." ‌ Rashford loan According to the Guardian, Barcelona are interested in signing Marcus Rashford on loan this summer. The forward is expected to leave Manchester United this summer and has publicly teased a move to Barcelona. The report states that United will want a fee-paying loan, but the Red Devils may have to take a hit on his wages. Rashford is among their highest earners, taking home a reported £370,000-a-week, and it is claimed United 'may be forced to accept' a deal that involves Barcelona only paying a portion of his wages.
