BEST BET
Race 7 No.5 NATION'S CALL ($2.50): Forced to work early from a wide draw yet still beaten less than a length-and-a-half by Flamin' Romans at Caulfield last start. Much kinder barrier today and Blake Shinn jumps on.

VALUE BETS
Race 3 No.9 HERBERT PARK ($12): Returned to form despite being tightened for room late when a solid third at Caulfield on June 28. Back in grade today and grows a leg with the sting out of the track.
Race 4 No.2 LARIO ($11): At the price I'm keen to play each-way on this gelding who last prep comfortably accounted for Inexorable (won past three starts) and wasn't far off subsequent Group 3 winner Cilacap. Good first-up then forgive last time out when caught wide.
Race 8 No.13 ANOTHER NEPHEW ($14): Missed the kick slightly second-up at Swan Hall but late sectionals were good. The Payne-Egan combination is in hot form.

LAY OF THE DAY
Race 4 No.12 LEGACY BAY ($4): Has been a costly conveyance for supporters since her maiden win at Sale in the Spring. Wet track also remains a query.
