Martín Bossi: "Making people laugh is an act of rebellion"
Martín Bossi is at his best moment. At 50, after years of filling theaters with one-man shows where the stage was entirely his, he has returned to scripted theater with The Dinner Game and is smashing it: over 50,000 people have already seen it, and shows sell out every week. This time, he's not alone: he shares the stage with Mike Amigorena, Laurita Fernández, and a sharp cast that enjoys itself as much as the audience. But beyond success and laughter, Bossi doesn't lose sight of what's essential: making humor, he says, 'is almost an act of rebellion in times of so much anguish.' In this conversation, he opens up, gets reflective, talks about egos, Sandro, and how a song by Charly Garcia can save his day. Oh, and he also explains why he felt at home filming the short Papota with Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso. In The Dinner Game, you share the stage with a powerful cast and return to scripted theater. What attracts you today to doing this more classical kind of comedy, after years of solo shows where the stage was all yours? I'm drawn to sharing with colleagues, to looking at myself — that is, observing myself through the eyes of others, building a story together. And especially in times of so much anguish, making people laugh is an act of rebellion. We saw you in a short film alongside Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso, two artists of another generation and style. What attracted you to that project and what did you find in that crossover between theater and urban culture? Precisely that, despite being from another generation, when we belong to the same tribe, we share a language. Time doesn't separate us; they speak the same language as me, they are from the same tribe, they're kids as crazy as I am, and I know that craziness because I still have it. You've always been very linked to humor, but it's clear you use it for more than just making people laugh. What role does humor play in your life today? Does it still save you? Actually, I still use humor because happiness is the interruption of pain. I think life is quite painful all the time, so humor is a way to interrupt that pain that is life, isn't it? I'm getting a bit philosophical. You might also like: W hat plays to see on Calle Corrientes You are one of those artists who transform on stage, but offstage you don't show as much. Is it natural for you to separate the artistic from the personal, or is it something you've learned over the years? I've learned it; I realized it's what I need, and I had a couple of mentors, Graciela Borges and Sandro, who advised me early on and taught me how to manage it. You've spent many years on stage in very different formats. If someone asked you what you've learned about yourself throughout this journey, what would you answer without thinking too much? Oh! You got me. What have I learned in all these years? I've learned to manage my ego, to discover a bit who I really am. I think neither therapy, nor Freud, nor anyone else could have made me know myself as much. In fact, you can't step into someone else's skin if you don't know yourself. It taught me a lot. How Summer Knits Became This Season's Must-Have Staple
Now that you've tucked away your heavy wool sweaters, it's time to fill the free closet space with some seasonally appropriate alternatives. To help you navigate the world of warm-weather knitwear, we've highlighted nine types of summer knits that every wardrobe should have. Take note of the staple pieces you're missing from this list before new-season styles start selling out. Perhaps you're after an office-appropriate cashmere shell, a crocheted date-night top, or a chunky cardigan that doubles as a swim cover-up. Shop the edit below to expand your summer outfit options. The Sleeveless Knit Top Sleeveless knit tops should be a cornerstone of your summer work wardrobe. A sweater shell looks sharp on its own while layering easily under a blazer on colder days. On weekends, style them just as you would a basic tank. The Sweater Shirt A sweater shirt offers all the comfort of a basic tee while making your outfit look a bit more polished. Veronica Beard's short-sleeved cardigan and Gucci's pointelle knit tee look just as chic with denim cutoffs and faded baggy jeans on weekends as they do with silk trousers and printed midi skirts mid-week. The Summer Sweater Dress Already craving a cozy cashmere sweater dress on a crisp fall day? Treat yourself with a summery style made from lightweight cotton or linen. Simon Miller's fringe tank dress is practically begging to be twirled on a dance floor (preferably one that's halfway around the globe). And how cute would that bauble-knit Frame mini dress look as a swimsuit cover-up? The Crochet Top If your current summer wardrobe is in need of a personality piece, snag a crochet top from Sandro, Farm Rio, or Madewell. These complement earners can be dressed up or down, and they're cool enough to keep wearing after the current boho craze fades. The Fisherman Sweater Fisherman sweaters have emerged as the must-have knitwear style of the summer, meaning Dôen's sailor-collared Voyage Sweater and Kule's striped Matey Sweater are flying off shelves fast. Even a chunky cotton knit can channel nautical vibes when styled in classic navy or crisp stripes. The Pointelle Knit The open weave of a pointelle knit offers a lightweight, breezy feel. A lacy cardigan or knit polo shirt will carry you through fall and spring, too, making a high-quality piece from Vince or Victoria Beckham well worth the investment. The Knit Tank Feeling bored with your going-out options? Simon Miller or seashell-embellished tank is just as striking for a beach vacation as it is for a night out in the city. The Graphic Sweater A playful graphic sweater can brighten even the most unseasonably cold, cloudy day. Fish and fruit motifs are particularly popular this summer, so grab Staud's tomato pullover or L.L. Bean's fish sweater before someone else beats you to it. The Knit Cover-Up Few swimsuit cover-ups offer the versatility of a cream-colored knit. A crocheted mini dress, chunky cardigan, or open-weave sweater can be worn beyond the pool, making it well worth the suitcase space.

Everton let striker leave for free after 'bargain' transfer predicted Champions League run
The most underwhelming signing Everton have made? For a certain generation of supporters, Sandro Ramirez would likely top that list. As the Blues close in on another exciting young forward from La Liga in Thierno Barry - he flew in to Liverpool on Tuesday to have a medical before a potential £27.5m transfer - the last player they had in a similar bracket turns 30 years old today. Advertisement And while Barry has all the hallmarks of an excellent young player - he scored 11 goals in the Spanish top flight last season and helped Villarreal qualify for the Champions League - Sandro's turbulent stint in English football is a reminder of how difficult it can be for players to make the transition to the Premier League. READ MORE: Everton John McGinn transfer approach dismissed as David Moyes seeks midfield boost READ MORE: Everton face three new contract dilemmas with key deal agreed Because when Sandro signed for Everton in 2017, it felt like a transfer that really couldn't go wrong. At the time, the Blues triggered a £5.2 million release clause in the forward's contract at Malaga. Sandro had scored an impressive 16 goals in 31 appearances in the Spanish top flight. His bustling and direct style drew comparisons to Jamie Vardy. Advertisement He was linked with a return to Barcelona where he came through the club's La Masia youth academy, while Atletico Madrid were also strongly linked. However, he eventually opted for Everton, who were looking to add goals to the team after the sale of Romelu Lukaku. "They have got big plans and want to succeed and keep developing," Sandro said upon arrival. "I'm hoping I can get to know my team-mates as soon as possible, and want to adapt to the football and the way of life in the city. "Everton have made some big signings and we're hoping we can put in a great season and hopefully then we can achieve that aim of getting in the Champions League. It will be a big season for us." Given his age and potential, a five-year contract seemed sensible for Sandro. It was reported he was earning in the region of £65,000-a-week, but that money was standard fare for the then big-spending Blues under Farhad Moshiri's stewardship. Advertisement In pre-season there were some exciting glimpses from the new No.9. Sandro scored after a minute in the Goodison Park friendly against Sevilla, donning what has become a much cherished retro-style shirt. He then started three of the first four games of the Premier League campaign - missing the other with a heel injury. It was in the fourth of these, a 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, when the warning signs started to blare loudly; Sandro was taken off at half-time with the team toiling. That game, on September 9, would be his last start for Everton in the Premier League. As the team struggled for form, Ronald Koeman was eventually sacked, leaving a number of the summer signings in limbo and the team lurching towards a relegation battle. It was during that period when David Unsworth was interim manager that Sandro scored his only goal for the club. It wasn't one to celebrate though - the consolation in a 5-1 hammering at home to Atalanta in the Europa League. Advertisement When Sam Allardyce came in, the only other significant minutes Sandro received in the league were against Chelsea in December, when he came off the bench at half-time in a turgid 0-0. draw With the transfer window looming, already speculation was buzzing about a return to Spain. Sevilla gave Sandro a route back to his homeland that January. "England is very different," he said after making the move. "The life is different, people are different, but now I come to a big city and a great club. "I can honestly say that I want to continue at Sevilla. It was a complicated negotiation because Everton didn't loosen the rope. In the end I was able to come and in two weeks I've seen it in my football, and what I want is Sevilla." Nevertheless, he would only net two goals in 18 appearances in Andalusia and after returning to Everton that summer more loans would follow. First to Real Sociedad (2018-19) and then to Real Valladolid (2019-20). Advertisement It was three years after his initial arrival that Sandro left Everton permanently, as he joined Huesca on a free transfer. He is now back at Las Palmas where he spent seven years as a youth player before being picked up by Barcelona.

Princess Beatrice Brings Understated Flair in Striped Sandro Look to First Day of Wimbledon 2025
Princess Beatrice was joined by her mother, Sarah Ferguson, for the first day of The Championships, Wimbledon on Monday in London. They sat in the royal box on center court to watch Carlos Alcaraz of Spain take on Fabio Fognini of Italy in the first round of the annual Grand Slam tennis tournament. For the summertime sporting occasion, Princess Beatrice opted for a coordinated set courtesy of Sandro. The British royal wore the Tiare shirt in sky blue, which featured white and blue stripes with a buttoned placket and rhinestone openwork flowers on the long sleeves. Sarah Ferguson wore a jacquard floral print maxidress courtesy of Me+Em. The 2025 summer season kicked off for Sandro in March, when the French brand announced its capsule collection inspired by artist Louise Bourgeois. The summer line, which hit stores in April, featured a bevy of spirals and textiles created in collaboration with Louise Bourgeois' foundation. 'Paying tribute to an artist who has such a singular creative and artistic language brings substance to the brand and allows our customers to live a unique experience where fashion meets art in its expressive power,' chief executive officer Isabelle Allouch said in an interview with WWD in March. The French American artist, who died in 2010, is best known for her giant sculptures of spiders, including a 20-foot-high bronze creation that sold for $32.8 million in 2023, setting a record-high price for a work by a female artist. Princess Beatrice is a longtime supporter of Sandro's designs and previously wore a dress from the French label for an event in June 2024. She also often wears such labels as Beulah London, Simkhai and more.
