Man charged after Cape Breton police seize ‘large number' of stolen vehicles
A 45-year-old man has been charged in connection with an investigation into a 'large number' of stolen vehicles.
The Cape Breton Regional Police says officers located and seized numerous vehicles and parts when they executed multiple search warrants at properties in Little Pond, Florence, and North Sydney on July 9.
'During one of the searches, Sandy Joseph Young was arrested and later remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre,' reads a news release from the Cape Breton Regional Police.
Young has been charged with five counts of possession of property obtained by crime, along with numerous offences for the unauthorized and careless use of firearms. Police say additional charges are anticipated.
The investigation is ongoing, in collaboration with auto theft investigators from the Equite Association, according to the release.
