This Actress Edged Out Madhuri, Ruled The 90s With Govinda, Got Rs 87 Crore In Divorce
1/8 Film stars who entertain their fans with dance, music, laughter, and spectacle often lead private lives far less glamorous than they seem. Many, including the elegant Karisma Kapoor, have seen their dreams of marital bliss remain unfulfilled. A sensation in the 1990s with a large fan following to this day, Karisma Kapoor hails from a family deeply rooted in the film industry, yet her marriage did not meet with success. Karisma Kapoor garnered immense critical acclaim, particularly for her standout performance in Yash Chopra's 1997 blockbuster Dil To Pagal Hai, which won her the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award, even over the legendary Madhuri Dixit. Karisma Kapoor, celebrated for her dynamic dance performances in Bollywood, has appeared in numerous blockbusters like Coolie No. 1 (1995), Raja Hindustani (1996), Biwi No. 1 (1999), Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999) and Judwa (1997). She was popular for starring in numerous hits alongside Govinda. Early in her career, her co-star Govinda predicted her rise to fame; a prediction that proved accurate, as she became one of the most talented and celebrated actresses of the 1990s. At one point, Karisma Kapoor was engaged to Abhishek Bachchan, reportedly, through an arrangement by Jaya Bachchan, but life had other plans. Karisma Kapoor married businessman Sanjay Kapoor in 2003; the couple parted ways in 2016. They share two children, Samaira and Kiaan. Her post-divorce life and career still draw public interest. Controversies once surrounded Karisma Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, but Sanjay Kapoor refuted them, and Karisma Kapoor later dismissed them as mere rumours. Post-divorce, Karisma Kapoor's financial gains were substantial, including a house in Khar, bonds valued at Rs 14 crore generating a monthly interest of Rs 10 lakh for the children, alimony worth Rs 87 crore, and her wedding jewellery. Her ex-husband Sanjay Kapoor's sudden passing from a heart attack while playing golf drew media attention recently.

'Chup Baitho': Shanaya Kapoor TROLLED For Talking About Her 'Journey', Reddit Calls It 'Non-Existent'
Last Updated: Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay Kapoor, says she overcame criticism to prepare for her Bollywood debut in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, is being trolled on Reddit ahead of her debut film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan for calling her path to the debut a 'journey" and speaking about the challenges she faced. Many users questioned her struggles, calling them 'non-existent" and criticising her for already being a famous starkid before her first film. 'I think whatever my journey has been till now, it's taught me a lot. Whatever the fame or the pressure, with fame comes comments and criticism. I've taken it in a positive way, as feedback and learnt from it, grown from it. And I am who I am today because of my parents. They've brought me up in a certain way. Yes, my environment has been this, but I don't think I want it any other way because I'm confident today of who I am," she said in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. Shanaya was originally set to debut with Bedhadak, but the project was delayed. She opened up on the ups and downs, saying, 'I think that comes with probably things I've gone through in the span of getting here today. It has been a journey of its own to be here today. Everything I think happens for a reason, everything is the way it's supposed to be for something great to happen. I'm happy, I'm keeping my fingers crossed." But Reddit users are not having any of it. One comment read, 'The only person struggling here is me and my inability to relate to her imaginary journey. The only journey she's been on is from her living room to the film set." Another read, 'Journey ?? Kab start hui Behen ?" Another user commented, '`Didi." Based on Ruskin Bond's short story The Eyes Have It, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan tells a beautiful love story between a visually impaired musician (played by Vikrant Massey) and a theatre artist (played by Shanaya Kapoor). According to a press release, 'The film explores the themes of resilience, passion and the indomitable human spirit, all set to a beautiful musical backdrop." Produced by Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagla under ZED Studios and Mini Films, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan is set to hit the theatres on July 11. First Published:
