MP Shrikant Shinde refutes Sanjay Raut's ambulance scam allegations
Kolhapur: MP Shrikant Shinde on Saturday reacted to allegations made by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut , that a significant ambulance purchase contract had been awarded to his close associate's firm, by insisting that accusers should provide evidence. "Who is Sanjay Raut? I don't know any Sanjay Raut. I am not obliged to respond Sanjay Raut's allegations. If someone is accusing someone, it should be done with evidence," Shinde said during a day-long visit to Kolhapur. On Friday, Sanjay Raut had said, "State govt floated a tender for the purchase of ambulances. Its contract was awarded to a company belonging to a close associate of deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde's son, Shrikant Shinde. The contract for the purchase of ambulances worth Rs 800 crore was awarded to Sumit Facilities Limited. Its actual cost was Rs 100 crore, but the contract amount was inflated to Rs 800 crore." Shrikant Shinde, during his Kolhapur visit, inaugurated a health camp at the Services Hospital at Kasba Bawda. He interacted with patients and senior citizens who had come for health checks. Raut: Shinde son involved in 800cr ambulance scam
Mumbai: Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Friday claimed a contract for procurement of ambulances was inflated eight-fold to Rs 800 crore and money was diverted to a foundation run by Shrikant Shinde, deputy CM Eknath Shinde 's son and Sena MP. Sena rejected the charge. Raut alleged the contract was awarded to a firm run by Amit Salunke, a close aide of Shrikant who has been arrested over a liquor scam in Jharkhand. tnn

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Friday criticised the BJP over the clash in the Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan, alleging that people with serious criminal records were being inducted into the party. Speaking to reporters, Raut said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis should dissolve his government, and the President's rule must be imposed in the state. Supporters of BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar and NCP (SP) legislator Jitendra Awhad came to blows inside the Maharashtra legislature complex on Thursday. Shocking videos of the two groups pummelling each other and having to be dragged back by security personnel are doing the rounds on social media. Raut said, "This was a gang war in Vidhan Bhavan. People with serious criminal offences like murder, dacoity, or facing charges under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) were present there." He further alleged that people with a criminal background were being inducted into the BJP daily. "Is this the culture of RSS and the BJP? Does it suit the party's culture to induct people with criminal backgrounds?" he asked. "Shiv Sena (UBT) feels that the President's rule must be imposed in the state. It is not only unfortunate, painful or shocking, but shameful for Maharashtra's political culture," he said The Rajya Sabha MP criticised Fadnavis, reminding him of his promise of maintaining the dignity of the state's political culture. "Every day, there is a new blot to Maharashtra's image. Be it corruption, unethical behaviour or honeytrap, assault by an MLA or videos of ministers," he said.

(File) Amid speculation over a possible political realignment in Maharashtra Opposition's Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Thursday dismissed the necessity of political alliances like the INDIA or MVA in the upcoming local and civic body elections in the state. While speaking to the reporters, Raut asserted that such arrangements are relevant only for larger electoral battles. 'I was asked what is the status of INDIA bloc? I said that it was formed for Lok Sabha polls and Maha Vikas Aghadi was for Assembly elections. There is no need of these two in local bodies elections. Local bodies elections are fought over local issues," he said as quoted by news agency PTI . Elections in Maharashtra civic bodies, including the cash-rich Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), will likely be held later this year. The Bal Thackeray-founded Shiv Sena, which split in 2022, had controlled the BMC for nearly two decades. Raut's remarks came days after the estranged Thackeray cousins– Uddhav and Raj– shared a stage, marking a rare public show of unity after nearly two decades, at a gathering titled ' Awaj Marathicha ' to celebrate the rollback of two government resolutions issued by the Devendra Fadnavis-led government, introducing Hindi as a third language from Class 1 in Maharashtra schools. During the event, Uddhav Thackeray hinted at a closer association with his cousin. 'We have come together and will stay together," he declared, fueling speculation of a joint fight for Mumbai's civic body polls. Mahayuti Takes Jibe At Raut The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra responded to Raut's comments with state minister and Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant criticising the idea of a Sena (UBT)-MNS alliance, suggesting it may lead to a clash of agendas. 'After any such alliance, one party will simply pursue its own goals," he said at the Vidhan Bhavan, indirectly referring to Shiv Sena (UBT), as quoted by the ABP News .
