Santa Fe Public Schools Superintendent resigns following misconduct allegations
SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Santa Fe Board of Education accepted the resignation of Superintendent Hilario Chavez Friday. This comes after recent misconduct allegations made against Chavez by a former Assistant Principal, Amanda Chavez.

The board held a special meeting Friday following the misconduct allegations and voted to accept the superintendent's resignation. Dr. Veronica C. Garcia will serve as the interim superintendent. The board of education says they plan to have a new superintendent in place by July 1, 2025. The board says it will conduct due diligence into the allegations made by Amanda Chavez.
