81st National Garment Fair Sees INR 2500 Cr Turnover
The 81st National Garment Fair (NGF), organised by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), concluded its Women's and Men's Wear edition on a high note, registering a record business turnover of INR 2500 Crores. With over 50,000 buyers participating across both Kidswear (held earlier) and Women's & Men's segments, the NGF reaffirmed its position as India's largest apparel trade show. More than 800 menswear and womenswear brands, alongside 40+ accessories labels and 590 kidswear brands, showcased collections catering to India's evolving fashion landscape. Exhibitors reported strong pre-festive order bookings, signalling continued demand and buyer confidence. Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI, stated, 'The Indian apparel landscape is undergoing a significant transformation, shaped by a young, aspirational, and trendsetter consumer base… opening new opportunities for brands, designers, manufacturers and retailers.' 81st NGF to Host 820 Brands in Mumbai from July 14–16
The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) is set to host the 81st edition of the National Garment Fair (NGF), dedicated to Womenswear and Menswear, from July 14–16, 2025, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. Bringing together 480 womenswear and 340 menswear brands, along with 40 accessories brands, the show will span over 36,000 sqm of exhibition space. This phase is expected to draw 20,000+ buyers from across India, offering a focused B2B platform ahead of the festive and wedding season. The NGF comes at a pivotal time as India's apparel sector navigates changing consumer preferences and rising demand for branded fashion in Tier II and III cities. Industry data cited by CMAI President Santosh Katariya projects menswear to grow from US$38B to US$58B and womenswear from US$36B to US$55B by 2029, driven by ethnic, casual, and western influences. Rohit Munjal, Vice President & Chairman of CMAI's Fair Sub-Committee, highlighted NGF's role in strengthening core apparel categories, which form over 75% of India's clothing market. CMAI's Kidswear Fair Attracts 15K+ Trade Visitors
The 81st National Garment Fair (NGF)—Kidswear Edition, organized by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), concluded with overwhelming success, drawing over 15,000 trade visitors from across India and over 50 international buyers. Held from June 23–25 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, the event underscored the kidswear sector's growing influence in India's fashion landscape. The show featured around 590 kidswear brands displaying their latest Autumn/Winter, festive, and wedding collections across 3.5 lakh sq. ft. of exhibit space. Buyers from countries including the UK, USA, UAE, Spain, South Africa, and Australia engaged with Indian exhibitors, driving substantial festive-season bookings. Santosh Katariya, President of CMAI, noted the kidswear segment is India's fastest-growing apparel category, set to reach $34 billion by 2029, driven by rising disposable incomes, style-conscious parenting, and aspirational purchasing in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. He emphasized how kidswear is evolving beyond basic clothing into lifestyle-driven fashion. Major retailers such as G3+, Kalyan Silks, Madan Collection, and Kings Life Style attended, signaling industry confidence. Exhibitors like Suruchi, My Silk, Duke Fashion, Badboys, Rivaaz, Tiny Girl, and Casa Dee Neene reported high interest and expected strong seasonal performance. Following the success of the Kidswear Edition, CMAI is preparing for the Men's and Women's Wear Edition of the 81st NGF, set to take place July 14–16, 2025 at the same venue. It will host over 800 brands and 40 accessory labels, covering 15,300 sqm for menswear, 21,200 sqm for womenswear, and 680 sqm for accessories.
