Egyptian director Sara Gohar announced on her Facebook page that her film 'Birthday' has been selected to participate in the 24th edition of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, taking place from June 4 to 15, 2025. This marks Sara's directorial debut, and the film is also penned by her, with co-writing contributions from Mohamed Diab and Sherine Diab. 'Birthday' stars Nelly Karim, Hanan Motawie, Sherif Salama, Aly Sobhy, and child actress Doha Ramadan. The story sheds light on the issue of child domestic labor, focusing on children from rural villages who work in households.
