‘That's Not Normal:' Woman's 2014 Honda Civic Keeps Stalling at Red Lights. Then She Asks for Help
A woman turns to TikTok for answers about an issue with her 2014 Honda Civic, and—for once —the internet offers simple, actionable advice. TikTok user Sari (@sarisahara) posted a video with her question recently. She starts the video by saying, 'So I need a car person to tell me what's going on with my car, because I'm not really sure and I just want to know what kind of fix this is going to be and what it's going to cost to get fixed.' She explains that she's the owner of a 2014 Honda Civic . Approximately five or six times, she's been stopped at a red light or a stop sign and found herself stuck when she lets go of the brake. When she hits the gas, the Civic stops moving, and she gets an alert to turn the car on. 'But I can't turn the car on, because it's already on,' she states. 'So I hit the button a few times so it moves again.' She closes the video by saying, 'Obviously that's not normal. And I just don't know what could be causing that. So if someone could explain that to me, that would be super helpful. And about how much it's going to cost to get that fixed.' 'Start Small and Cheap' Several users offered quick, easy fixes to at least eliminate the obvious, such as changing the batteries on her key fob. If the battery is out, then the car may not recognize it as in the vehicle. 'Start with basics. It could just need a tune up. Worn spark plugs can cause low idle and bad acceleration,' another user added. The 2014 Honda Civic is equipped with an engine start/stop button, which lets you get into the car, start the engine, turn it off, and lock and unlock it—all with just the press of a few buttons. If you have the fob on you, then you don't need a key to do any of that. This feature should not be confused with auto start/stop , which is a technology that starts and stops your car's engine as a way of improving fuel efficiency. So What's Actually Wrong With Her 2014 Honda Civic? In the comments of the TikTok video, a few viewers offered what could be helpful advice. 'Could be a few things ranging from electrical to crankshaft to even the fuel system,' wrote one helpful viewer and self-described Honda guy. 'I wish I could give you a price estimate, but it ranges!' More From Motor1 'Never Knew This:' Honda Civic Driver of 3 Years Reaches for Key Fob. Then She Realizes It Has a Little-Known Feature 'I'm Not [an] Expert:' Man Gets in a Honda Civic. Then It Starts Making This Mystery Noise When He Puts It in Reverse Another user agreed that the cost could vary widely. 'Could be a simple relay ruse,' they wrote. '$20. Or it could be an electrical or control module. $2,000. Being that it's random, it's going to be hard to trace unless there are stored codes that give some indication.' Someone else put it this way. 'You know who could tell you this? A mechanic.' It's Not Just Her This doesn't appear to be an uncommon problem. Last year, a 2014 Honda Civic owner wrote to the Car Problem Fix and Help Group on Facebook about a similar issue. 'It won't turn on,' he wrote. I changed the start/stop switch, but it still won't turn on. It also has a new battery.' One person replied, 'You might need to tell the computer that you changed the button over.' 2 covid patients with severe comorbidities die in city
Nagpur: The death of two patients with severe comorbidities from Nagpur were officially attributed to Covid-19 on Saturday. Both victims were males — a 56-year-old patient, who was suffering from diabetes and hypertension, and a 32-year-old cancer patient with anaemia. With the test results showing them to be positive, the deaths were added to the state's Covid-19 toll. According to the state health department, Maharashtra reported 53 new Covid cases on Saturday. The highest number of cases were from Mumbai (24), followed by Pune city (11), Thane city (5), Pimpri-Chinchwad (3), Sangli district (2), Pune district (2), Sangli city (2), Navi Mumbai (1), and Raigad (1). Maharashtra currently has 578 active Covid-19 cases, of which five are in Nagpur. All active cases in the district are reportedly mild. The state continues its routine surveillance of Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) and Severe Acute Respiratory Infections (Sari). As per protocol, 5% of ILI cases and all Sari cases are being tested for Covid. All positive samples are being forwarded for whole genome sequencing to monitor any changes in the virus. "ILI and Sari surveillance is being actively conducted in the state. There is a gradual but definite rise in Covid cases in Maharashtra. However, the symptoms remain mild and testing and treatment services are readily available through public health facilities. Citizens are advised not to panic," stated a press release by Maharashtra public health department. Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here . Karnataka reports 1.2k Covid cases since Jan
Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 1,220 Covid-19 cases since Jan 1, with 559 active cases, 652 recoveries, and 9 deaths recorded. The rise comes amid a fresh nationwide uptick in infections, with the current rate of positivity in the state at 40.7% – out of 650 tests conducted Monday, 265 found positive. However, health experts maintain that the current situation does not warrant panic, though precautions remain necessary. Out of 559 active cases, 552 people are under home isolation. According to Dr Sunil Kumar, epidemiologist and secretary of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine, the recent cases in Karnataka and other parts of the country are largely due to sublineages of the Omicron variant—specifically JN.1, LF.7, and NF.1.8.1. "These are not new variants, but descendants of Omicron. They are more transmissible, which explains the steady rise in the numbers," he said. Despite the increase in cases, the severity remains low. Dr Kumar noted, "Over 95% of patients are recovering at home, with only 3-4% requiring hospitalisation. Very few of those hospitalised need oxygen support. Another factor contributing to the rise is the expansion of testing. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Good News: You May Be Richer Than You Think Undo The state resumed screening for ILI (influenza-like illness) and Sari (severe acute respiratory infection), which naturally results in more detected cases. Covid moved into an endemic phase. Unlike earlier pandemic waves, such periodic surges are expected once or twice a year." Dr Vinay Hosadurga, a general physician at Vasavi Hospitals, pointed out a shift in symptoms with the current variant. "Earlier, many patients reported loss of smell and taste. That's no longer common. What we are seeing now in some cases is diarrhoea," he said. He added, "The monsoon season could further complicate diagnosis due to a simultaneous rise in flu cases. Since both flu and Covid-19 present similar symptoms such as fever and fatigue, patients are advised to avoid self-medication and consult a doctor. There is no cause for alarm, as most cases are mild. But it's still important to follow Covid-appropriate behaviour and seek medical advice if symptoms arise."

Algerian-led humanitarian convoy departs for Gaza to break 'Israeli' siege
A major solidarity convoy named 'The First Convoy of Steadfastness' set off Sunday morning from Algiers toward the besieged Gaza Strip, as part of the 'Algerian Initiative to Support Palestine and Aid Gaza.' The convoy includes over 200 activists and supporters, including Algerian parliamentarians and diplomats, reflecting both popular and official support for the Palestinian cause. The mission aims to break the ongoing 'Israeli' siege on Gaza and demand an end to the months-long bombardment that has caused an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe. The convoy departed from the headquarters of the 'Generation of Balance Academy' and is led by Sheikh Yahya Sari, a member of the Algerian Association of Muslim Scholars. It will first head to Tunisia to join a Tunisian convoy, before continuing through Libya and Egypt to reach the Rafah border crossing. 'This is a message to the people of Gaza: You are not alone,' Sheikh Sari said in a Facebook post. 'We share your pain, and this is a form of public pressure against the occupier in the face of international failure to stop the massacres.' Political and Humanitarian Message The convoy represents more than a humanitarian gesture. Organizers say it is also a political and moral message against Israeli Occupation's blockade of Gaza, which has led to severe shortages in food and medicine, and the destruction of infrastructure. Wael Nouar, the convoy's spokesperson, said the broader initiative involves more than 7,000 participants from across the Maghreb - Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, and Mauritania - and aims to pressure for the opening of the Rafah crossing and delivery of aid currently stockpiled in Egypt's Al-Arish. Facing Challenges The convoy is expected to face complex logistical and political challenges, especially given Israeli Occupation's control of the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing and coordination hurdles with Egyptian authorities. Organizers said the convoy would remain at the border for 2–5 days in an attempt to gain entry, with coordination support from international bodies such as the Global March to Gaza and the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. Some reports warn that 'Israel' may attempt to use the convoy to promote a misleading narrative about "open humanitarian corridors," despite restricting real access to aid. Maghreb and Global Solidarity The convoy is part of a broader wave of international support, with delegations from 42 countries—by land, air, and sea—joining the movement. Salahuddin Al-Masri, a Tunisian organizer, said the initiative reflects the 'will of the people of the Maghreb to stand with Palestine.' This comes amid dire warnings from the UN and humanitarian organizations that famine is threatening over two million Palestinians in Gaza. UNICEF reports that 92% of children under two and breastfeeding mothers suffer from severe malnutrition. Cry for Help Amid Catastrophe The convoy comes at a time when Gaza is experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis; ongoing bombardment, mass displacement, and acute shortages of basic necessities. Since March 2025, Israeli Occupation has reportedly blocked aid entry, intensifying the suffering of civilians, particularly children, who are described by UNICEF as 'going to bed starving.'

Community Heroes: Sari Maharani served thousands of meals to flood victims post-Helene
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — This week's Community Hero took her love of cooking and helped feed people from Southwest Virginia, East Tennessee, and North Carolina after Hurricane Helene. It wasn't just a meal, but compassion for her community. Hana Asian Fusion & Sushi Bar opens in Johnson City After Hurricane Helene, Sari Maharani's (Esther) original plan was to cook 100 meals for survivors and rescuers. Soon, the number of meals needed grew, and so did the volunteers and donations of food and ingredients. 'And of course, I cannot do by myself. No, it's all community,' says Marahani. One week and two working commercial kitchens later, her meal count was more than ten thousand, distributed to Southwest Virginia, East Tennessee and North Carolina. 'You're so tired, but when you see the masses your food is going to, I would cry,' she said. 'Because that's the only thing I can do. I cook for them, and when that thing happened, you know, you don't have anything anymore. You don't have food, you lost your home, and you lost everything.' Dozens of volunteers came to cook and put together and deliver boxes of meals, with Sari leading the effort. Those who couldn't help still did their part. 'Some school come to me, a lot of kids that said they cannot help, but they make me small cards and they put the Bible verses on the card and then so I put it in every box, you know, and hoping when people open the box, bring them home, you know, bring them kindness,' she said. It's not just a plate of food, it's a way of saying, ' I care about you.' Something small that means so much. Sari says she feels, 'Joy, you know? You know, it's always good to give than take. My late mom, always teaching me you will never be poor when you feed people. Especially those people really in need.' Sari doesn't ask questions to the people in need and the people who are helping. Everyone works together. Food, she says, brings people together. 'Jesus said, 'Feed them.' That's what I do. You know, I don't care about the people's choice, what people think about it. I only focus on the time people need food. That's my point. I cook for them.' As she works in her new restaurant, Hana, she feels fortunate that she could pay it forward. 'I never expect a return when you're helping people. It come from your heart just to help … But you know, when you go do good things, sooner or later it will come back to you. That's what I believe.'
