Report – Sassuolo One Of Four Clubs Interested In Inter Milan & Argentinian Youngster

Sassuolo have reportedly joined three other teams in the race to sign Inter Milan outcast Tomas Palacios. According to Greek portal Metrosport via FCInterNews, four clubs are battling out for the Argentine's services. Despite signing the 22-year-old from Independiente Rivadavia only last summer, Inter have already put him on the market. Indeed, Tomas Palacios failed to live up to expectations at San Siro, though his first-team opportunities were at a premium. Furthermore, Inter tried to help the youngster gain experience in Serie A by loaning him to Monza in January. Inter paid the Argentine club €6.5 million upfront to sign Palacios. But they also included several bonuses to sweeten the deal. Keen to recoup their investment, the San Siro giants have put the player up for sale. Meanwhile, Sassuolo have joined Olympiacos, Feyenoord, and Girona in the race to sign the Nerazzurri bust.

What's next for Laurienté after collapsed Sunderland transfer?

Armand Laurienté's proposed Sunderland transfer has collapsed, but the French winger is unlikely to remain at Sassuolo as he wants a new challenge. French winger Laurienté was supposed to join Sunderland in a €20m deal this summer, but his transfer suddenly collapsed on Sunday, so the 26-year-old is on his way back to Italy. Laurienté was the top Serie B goalscorer in the 2024-25 season and the best player in Italy's second division last term, enabling Sassuolo to earn promotion to Serie A. The Neroverdi were by far the best team in the tournament, so fans didn't really need football predictions generated using AI. However, with a new top-flight campaign ahead, the Mapei Stadium-based club is preparing to shock some of Italy's top sides, as they did in their golden era. Laurienté won't join Sunderland It will be worth keeping a close eye on the Neroverdi, who have confirmed Fabio Grosso in charge for 2025-26 after an easy promotion to Serie A last season. Sassuolo, however, are aware that they won't rely on Laurienté next season, despite his recent failed Sunderland transfer. Grosso himself confirmed the winger's desire to leave just a few weeks ago. 'Laurienté would love to test himself at a higher level,' Grosso said via TMW. 'Speaking with Armand, I try to show him all the possible scenarios, but also highlight what the club have done for him.' Laurienté joined Sassuolo in a €10m deal from FC Lorient in the summer of 2022 and immediately became a star player at the Mapei Stadium. The French winger scored 31 goals and provided 18 assists in 102 appearances with Sassuolo, including 18 Serie B goals last season. The 26-year-old was linked with a move to Napoli in the January transfer window, and his agent even confirmed the Partenopei's interest a few months ago. Napoli 'always' interested in Laurienté 'Honestly, there was no call from Napoli in January, but they were always interested in the past,' Laurienté's agent, Roberto Meloni, said in February. 'The lad likes Napoli as a solution, they are a great club, but you need a perfect marriage to finalise the deal.' Napoli are still looking for an attacking winger despite signing Noa Lang, but this obviously doesn't mean the French winger will surely end up at the Stadio Maradona. One thing that is practically certain: Laurienté won't be playing for either Sassuolo or Sunderland in the 2025-26 season, but his next destination remains to be determined. Napoli have also targeted Bologna's Dan Ndoye, but Nottingham Forest have recently made an opening offer to sign the Swiss winger. Sassuolo will make their 2025-26 Serie A debut against Napoli at home on August 23.

Lauriente's 20m Sunderland move collapses

Armand Lauriente travelled to England to undergo medical tests with Sunderland, but according to several sources, his move has collapsed, so the winger is returning to Sassuolo. French winger Laurienté won't move to Sunderland. Laurienté failed Sunderland transfer Several sources, including Fabrizio Romano and TMW, confirm that the 26-year-old won't join the newly promoted Premier League side this summer. Sunderland and Sassuolo had reached an agreement over a €20m deal, and the player travelled to England on Saturday to undergo medical tests. It's still unclear whether the French winger underwent medical tests with the Premier League club, but the reason behind his failed move to Sunderland doesn't seem to be tied to his fitness. Laurienté has asked to leave Sassuolo after contributing to their Serie A promotion last season with 18 league goals. Laurienté unlikely to stay at Sassuolo Laurienté was the top scorer in Serie B during the 2024-25 season, as well as the best player in Italy's second division last term. Laurienté is now returning to Italy, but it's unlikely that he'll remain at Sassuolo for the 2025-26 season.

Armand Laurienté set for Sunderland medical

According to a report from Fabrice Hawkins, Armand Laurienté (26) is set to travel to the North East of England to complete a medical ahead of a proposed move to Sunderland. The newly promoted Premier League outfit have agreed a fee in the region of €20m with Sassuolo for the Frenchman's services. Laurienté has travelled to Sunderland on his private jet ahead of undergoing his medical. The French winger has agreed a 5-year contract at the Stadium of Light. The 26-year-old was pivotal in Sassuolo's instant promotion back to Serie A last term. He scored 19 goals and registered 6 assists in Serie B last season. Régis Le Bris is no stranger to Laurienté. The Sunderland manager coached the winger during his time at Lorient. He will also be reunited with his former Lorient teammate Enzo Le Fée, who joined the Black Cats permanently following their promotion to the Premier League. GFFN | Liam Wraith
