Cherry Blossom Fest '25 to return to Shillong in Nov: CM Conrad
Shillong: The Cherry Blossom Festival 2025 is set to return in full bloom to Shillong on Nov 14-15, promising an electrifying mix of international music, citywide cultural events and immersive crowd experiences, CM Conrad Sangma has said. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "This year's edition brings the festival back to the heart of Shillong, with pop-up experiences and cultural installations planned across the city — highlighting Ward's Lake and other heritage venues," a statement issued by the organisers said. The main concerts will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with MFA Ground and SRGT Ground extending the experience into a full-fledged city festival zone. Jason Derulo, global pop-R&B superstar from Miami, the US, will bring his chart-topping hits (Swalla, Talk Dirty, Savage Love) to Shillong, performing with his 15-member dance crew. The Script, one of Ireland's most acclaimed rock bands, will join Derulo as equal co-headliner. With over 20 million albums sold worldwide, the band has a global fan base because of iconic tracks like Hall of Fame, Breakeven and The Man Who Can't Be Moved. This performance will mark their long-awaited India debut. Day 2 co-headliners will be announced soon, with organisers promising an equally powerful and diverse lineup. A standout feature this year will be the inclusion of RFID LED wristbands for every ticket holder — a concept made famous by Coldplay — creating a synchronised light show and unifying the audience experience. Tickets will be limited to maintain world-class production standards and will go on sale end of June exclusively.

Jason Derulo to perform in Singapore for the very first time this June
Jason Derulo 's a familiar name most of us would have heard of. And despite having been around the music scene for over a decade, he's never held a concert in our city – until now. The pop star was originally set to perform in Singapore this year on March 20 at Singapore Expo Hall 7, but the show has been postponed to June 25, and will now take place at The Star Theatre. Bursting onto the scene with his chart-topping debut 'Whatcha Say', Derulo has turned the music world into his personal dance floor with hits like 'Talk Dirty' and the viral sensation 'Savage Love'. Known for his silky smooth vocals, 'Wiggle'-worthy choreography, and knack for crafting catchy earworms, he's more than an artist – he's a showman. Some of his notable awards include multiple BMI Pop Awards for hits like 'Talk Dirty' and 'Want to Want Me', reflecting his songwriting prowess. He's also been recognised with Teen Choice Awards, reflecting his popularity with younger audiences, and has received nominations for prestigious honours such as the MTV Europe Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards.
