Sayyid Theyazin flags off the military discipline programme
Muscat - HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, launched the second edition of the Military Discipline Programme for school students, set to take place in Dhofar Governorate from 13 July to 6 August. The programme, overseen by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth with support from various military, security, and relevant government institutions, aims to achieve its intended objectives and national goals. In a statement, HH Sayyid Theyazin emphasized that the programme aligns with national efforts to hone youth skills and channel their energies toward nation-building. This year, he said, it targets 850 students from across the Sultanate of Oman through an integrated training program in Dhofar, focusing on reinforcing values of citizenship, identity, and self-discipline via cultural, training, and sports activities. These initiatives, affirmed HH Sayyid Theyazin, reflect the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 in empowering Omani youth as a national priority and enhancing their active role in development. He concluded, "The successes of the first edition—evident in the heightened awareness, discipline, and responsibility among students—serve as strong motivation to further develop this second edition into a model training programme. It aims to prepare a generation capable of facing future challenges and contributing to the progress of our beloved nation." The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that invest in youth potential and instill a spirit of dedication and belonging, supporting Oman's ongoing development and prosperity under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

The magazine opens with full coverage of the landmark agreement to develop and operate the first phase of the Al-Rawda Special Economic Zone, an accord signed between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates, attended by H H Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said and H H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed al Maktoum. Oman, UAE sign deal to develop SEZ in Mahdah
Muscat – Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) and Mahadha Development Company, a joint Omani-Emirati venture led by DP World, have signed an agreement to develop and operate the first phase of Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone in Mahdah, Buraimi. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of H H Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The agreement was signed by Ahmed bin Hassan al Dheeb, Vice-Chairman of OPAZ, and Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World. According to Dheeb, the special economic zone (SEZ) aims to support job creation, attract advanced technologies and contribute to sustainable development. He noted that its strategic location on the Oman-UAE border provides access to the ports of Suhar and Jebel Ali, improving logistics and market reach across Gulf, Asian and African regions. Sulayem described the project as a 'new chapter' in the economic relations between Oman and the UAE. 'We are committed to developing a world-class platform that will create new opportunities for growth, strengthen connectivity and bring long-term economic value to both our nations.' Under a 50-year usufruct agreement, Mahadha Development Company will initially develop 14sqkm, with the option to expand to 25sqkm. The developer is responsible for infrastructure, public utilities, environmental studies, and master planning covering industrial, commercial and service sectors. The first phase will target key industries including manufacturing, logistics, pharmaceuticals, mining, food processing, plastics and safety services. The SEZ will offer investment incentives including a ten-year income tax exemption, customs duty waivers on imports and exports, and 100% foreign ownership. Strategic projects will benefit from single-window approvals. The project also aims to support tourism, enhance the region's business environment, and create opportunities for small and medium enterprises.

Oman, Belarus sign agreement to establish joint committee
MINSK: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus signed an agreement in the Belarusian capital, Minsk, on Monday to establish a joint committee aimed at boosting cooperation across various fields between the two countries. The signing ceremony was attended by HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, and Viktor Aleksandrovich Lukashenko, President of the Belarusian Olympic Committee and Special Envoy of the President of Belarus to the GCC states. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman by Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), and on behalf of the Government of Belarus by Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Also present at the signing ceremony were Hamoud bin Salim al Tuwaih, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation and non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus, along with a number of Belarusian officials. - ONA

Belarusian President receives HH Sayyid Theyazin
Minsk: President Alexander Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus on Monday received HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth, at the Presidential Palace in the Belarusian capital, Minsk. During the meeting, HH Sayyid Theyazin conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Belarusian President, along with His Majesty's best wishes of success to accomplish further achievements for the friendly people of Belarus and realize all their aspirations for a stable and prosperous life across all fields. On his turn, the President of Belarus asked HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said to conveying his greetings to His Majesty the Sultan, wishing His Majesty good health and happiness. President Lukashenko also wished the people of Oman to realize all their aspirations in various fields under the leadership of His Majesty. The President of Belarus lauded the outcomes of his visit to the Sultanate of Oman and the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him. He underlined the commitment to enhancing cooperation in several areas, particularly in economic, investment, and trade sectors, to achieve mutual benefits that bolster both nations' economies. The meeting reviewed the progress made in bilateral cooperation and partnership, along with ongoing efforts in this regard, while also exploring ways to expand collaboration and investment opportunities to serve mutual interests. HH Sayyid Theyazin expressed his profound pleasure at the growth and advancement of cooperative relations between the two countries across multiple sectors, expressing hope that all efforts to strengthen this partnership would be met with continued success and steady progress.
