Ohio State football named in three of Joel Klatt's ten most impactful games of 2025

If you follow us here at Buckeyes Wire, you know we like to check in with Fox's Joel Klatt from time to time. We value his balanced insight, analytical mind, and sensible takes on college football. He doesn't just throw things out there as a company man for clicks, but rather, tries to be unbiased and insightful in his beliefs. We appreciate that in today's day and age, and we're sure you do too. Klatt recently named ten games that will shape the college football season, and contests defending College Football Playoff national champion Ohio State will be involved in are well represented. In fact, three of the ten games will have OSU participating, meaning the college football world might have its eyes fixed on the banks of the Olentangy much of the 2025 season. There are, of course, other games to keep an eye on with some ending up being more impactful than what we see from the Buckeyes, but there's no doubt some of the marquis and most notable tussles between behemoths on the gridiron this season will happen when Ohio State straps it up. There will be some teams and games that ultimately surprise throughout the calendar and end up being a major footnote to the season, but here's the ten most impactful game according to Klatt, with a lot of Scarlet and Gray flair. Week No. 1 - Texas at Ohio State | Aug. 30 It's a rematch of the classic College Football Semifinal in the Cotton Bowl last season and has two of the favorites to win the College Football Playoff in 2025. Both lost some key talent from last year's game, but the Arch Manning era begins in Austin, and Ohio State might have the best offensive and defensive players in the country with Jeremiah Smith and Caleb Downs. There's plenty of talent surrounding both for the Buckeyes to get back to the CFP and have a shot at defending their title. A win here would provide a huge early feather in the cap for one of the two teams, and Texas would like nothing more than to start the season with a win on the road in Columbus. Week No. 1 - LSU at Clemson | Aug. 30 Swinney's Clemson program has been slow to embrace NIL and other progressive changes in the sport, but it looks like he might have a team that has developed into one that can be a College Football Playoff contender again after making it there last season. LSU always has talent, and many think this game will be one where two Heisman contenders square off under center to plant a flag early on in the season when Clemson's Cade Klubnik and LSU's Grant Nussmeir do battle. Week No. 2 - Michigan at Oklahoma | Sept. 6 We're all still waiting to see what happens with Michigan this year after it finished the season on a high note with wins over Ohio State and Alabama, but either way, the intrigue between two giants of the sport is at least something to get everyone excited about. The winner here still has many things to prove, but it'll be a good step in the right direction for one of the two looking to get back to the Mountain top. Week No. 3 - Texas A&M at Notre Dame | Sept. 13 Why It Matters Is there another program in the country that gets less out of its talent than Texas A&M on a year-in, year-out basis? The Aggies will be trying to punch at their weight once again against a program that seems to get its collection of talent to come together more than almost any other. Head coach Marcus Freeman has Notre Dame on the rise, and a win here would set the table and narrative for both teams one way or another. Week No. 4 - Oregon at Penn State | Sept. 27 Oregon has supplanted itself as a program continually competing for league and College Football Playoff titles, yet it hasn't been able to break through on the biggest stage. Penn State has the history, tradition, and might just have the most experienced talent to finally break through this season. This game will not only shape the Big Ten but also have CFP implications as the chess pieces move about the board fairly early in the season. Week No. 5 - USC at Illinois | Sept. 27 Lincoln Riley was supposed to do special things in Los Angeles, but it has yet to come to fruition. The Trojans always have plenty of talent to play with, but defense has been a problem. Is this the year everything comes together? Illinois has had a resurgence under head coach Bret Bielema and is flying a bit under the radar coming into 2025. This game could fall flat with both teams not meeting expectations, or it could be one that produces a surprise run to a Big Ten title and beyond. Week No. 5 - Alabama at Georgia | Sept. 27 There seems to always be a lot on the line when these two play recently, and don't be surprised if that's the case again in a power-packed Week 5. Alabama might not be the Alabama Nick Saban ran out of the tunnel with, but there's still a lot of talent left over, and we all know what kind of skill is on the Georgia sidelines. This one may all come down to quarterback play, with the winner putting itself in a good position in the SEC race. Do well in the SEC, and we all know what that means in the national picture. Week No. 10 - Penn State at Ohio State | Nov. 1 By this time in the season, we'll know a lot more about the landscape of college football and where both of these annual Big Ten contenders stand. Either way, there's going to be a ton of talent on the field in Columbus. Penn State is getting a lot of notoriety for what it might be this year, but it'll have to go into Columbus and slay the defending national champions to get over the hump. It won't be easy, and by this time of the year, Ohio State might just have its act together on both sides of the ball to stamp itself a national title contender again. If things line up like we think they might, this might end up being the biggest of all regular season games in 2025. Week No. 11 - LSU at Alabama | Nov. 8 It's really hard to put your faith in LSU based on what we've seen under Brian Kelly, but this might be a chance to get that big-game monkey off his back. If Alabama can right the ship this year and have a typical Alabama season, and if LSU meets expectations to this point, this one could be for the SEC title -- and more. NFL scouts will be drooling over this one, and we all might join them late in the season. At the least, with the 12-team CFP, you have to think there will be something on the line between these two. Week No. 14 - Ohio State at Michigan | Nov. 29 We never have to build this one up -- definitely not on this site. You know the deal; despite winning the CFP national championship last season, Ohio State still lost to Michigan for a fourth-straight year, and the natives in Columbus won't stand for another one -- defending national champions or not. There's the whole sign-stealing accusations and bad blood surrounding this one, and the Buckeyes would love nothing more than to restore balance in the universe by taking back the Big Ten baton. There's hatred and a crumbling lack of respect between both programs, and there very well might be a spot in Indianapolis and CFP implications on the line. ESPN ranks four Ohio State football players among top 5 of 2026 NFL draft position group

The 2026 NFL draft still feels like light years away. Heck, we haven't even started fall training camp for the 2025 college football season yet. However, there are those out there who live, breathe, and eat NFL draft news, so it's a year-round consumption for some. And, yes -- there are those that cover the draft all year long, so there seems to always be something to look at. At a place like Ohio State, having players go (usually high) in the draft is the norm rather than the exception, and that figures to be the case again in 2026, though seeing a whopping 14 players won't happen like it did last April. Still, there are some NFL draft hopefuls wearing the Scarlet and Gray that figure to be some of the best at their position groups, and ESPN's Matt Miller and Jordan Reid took turns trying to identify them -- as we sit here in late June -- about ten months from the annual spectacle taking place in Pittsburgh. Here's a look at the four players the ESPN duo believes could be in the top five at their position, and what they say about each. Remember, it's still very early in this process, and how each performs during the coming campaign, where things go with injuries, and off-the-field things will all play into how this all changes. Wide Receiver, Carnell Tate Where Miller has Tate: No. 5 Where Reid has Tate: No. 4 Ohio State has had four straight NFL drafts where a receiver has been taken in the first round. Tate has the skill and work ethic to make it five-straight years, but to do it, he'll have to get enough targets and show big play ability despite playing second-fiddle to all-everything Jeremiah Smith. Max Klare, Tight End Where Miller has Tate: No. 4 Where Reid has Tate: No. 3 Klare is going to add another dimension to the passing game this year. The traditional receivers on the outside are already the best in college football. What will teams do with Klare singled up on a linebacker or safety as an outlet valve or underneath option? Ohio State is getting a known commodity here, and there's a good chance he rises to the top tight end in the country once inserted into the offense in Columbus. Sonny Styles, Linebacker Where Miller has Tate: Not Ranked Where Reid has Tate: No. 5 While it's great to see Styles at least ranked in the top five by Reid, it's quite possible folks are overlooking Styles. He's an athletic freak who's still figuring out the linebacker position and started to really show his playmaking ability last season. He can cover in space, is fast, diagnoses plays well, yet can come up and hit like a hammer. Look for a major breakout year from him and a rise up the draft boards. Caleb Downs, Safety Where Miller has Tate: No. 1 Where Reid has Tate: No. 1 No surprise here. Downs is widely known as the best safety in college football and could very well be the best defender -- even perhaps overall player -- in the game. He has unbelievable athleticism and instincts and is a true leader on and off the field. He's versatile and determined to be great. Someone is going to be happy to take him off the board in the first round next year. Nintendo Switch 2 owner loses 20 years' worth of save data in botched transfer

One unlucky player's Nintendo Switch 2 experience will make you cautious about transferring save data to the new console. Transferring all your data from the Nintendo Switch to your shiny new Nintendo Switch 2 console should be a simple process. Not only can it sometimes not work though, but Nintendo's confusing messaging led some to think it could only be done during the initial set-up process. That's not the case and you can easily move save data from one console to the other any time you want, either wirelessly or through the Nintendo Switch Online exclusive cloud service. Unfortunately, it's not a risk free process, as there are reports of Switch 2 owners losing whole save files while trying to transfer them. One particularly devastated owner admits to losing their Pokémon Scarlet save this way, and in the process losing 20 years' worth of progress. If you're wondering how that's possible, that's because they had been holding onto all the pokémon they owned from previous games, going as far back as the Game Boy Advance, and had transferred them into Pokémon Scarlet. In a now deleted Reddit post (per IGN), ThatOtaku26 admitted they were 'about to cry' after realising the last 20 years of pokémon they collected had just vanished into the ether. 'I just got a Switch 2, did the startup and initial data transfer with no issues. My Scarlet save file is gone. It loads straight into the language selection and create a character screens. No data on my OLED. Just all gone,' they wrote. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. It's not even clear what happened since they insist there was no error in the data transfer: 'There's nothing I can do. I don't even know if I wanna play anymore.' Other fans soon chimed in with commiserations and stories of similar incidents that happened to them in the past. 'The Pokémon save system is the s******** thing ever,' replied daoester406. 'My 6-year-old son and I lost all our save data for Scarlet, Sword, Arceus, and [Let's Go, Pikachu]. We can always start again, but man is it such a pain in the butt.' Some have suggested ThatOtaku26 contact Nintendo's customer support to try and have their data recovered, but there's no guarantee they'll be able to help. More Trending IGN's own Rebekah Valentine suffered the same problem with her Pokémon Violet save file, saying customer support 'just shrugged their shoulders' when she spoke with them. Incidents like this are perhaps the best advertisement for the Pokémon Home cloud service, which lets you store any pokémon you've acquired and transfer them between compatible games. It's really the only option fans have, since none of the Pokémon games on Switch are compatible with Nintendo's cloud save feature and thus can't be backed up online. While Nintendo's never given a formal reason as for why this is the case, the common theory is this is to prevent players from cheating by duplicating certain pokémon. Former Ohio State basketball players get fans pumped for upcoming season

Former Ohio State basketball players get fans pumped for upcoming season If you haven't noticed yet, the Ohio State basketball program is welcoming former players back to Columbus for a week they call "Vet Camp." It's a chance for former OSU players to come back to town and practice, work out, and coach the current roster full of players. It's a great time to connect and be around guys who have been through the thick and thin, who have bled Scarlet and Gray and can relate and provide guidance, competition, and a mature outlook on what it means to be an OSU basketball player. After Monday, many of those who came back to stay in touch with the program they used to play for took time out to express their excitement about the upcoming season on social media. It's a short message by the likes of Greg Oden, D'Angelo Russell, Brice Sensabaugh, Kosta Koufus, and Ron Lewis, and a few others, of the anticipation for what this season could bring. All believe in what head coach Jake Diebler and the program are building and what could be in store for the 2025-2026 season. If you haven't seen the messages each provided, you can get a look now thanks to the Ohio State Hoops "X" account below. Hopefully, these former players are correct because the Buckeye program sorely needs to have a momentum-building year where it makes it back to the NCAA Tournament. It would help immensely if Ohio State also contended for a Big Ten title and more, but baby steps, right? This Morning fans rage 'why are they encouraging this?!' as woman brags about undergoing FOUR Brazilian bum lifts along with boob and nose jobs in 'irresponsible' interview

This Morning viewers raged 'why are they encouraging this?!' as a woman discussed her four Brazilian bum lifts alongside other cosmetic surgeries in an 'irresponsible' interview. Co-presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard sat down with Scarlet, 30, on Thursday's instalment of the daily ITV show. Scarlet features on Olivia Attwood: The Price Of Perfection and has had four BBLs as well as work on her breasts and nose. The popularity of non-surgical BBLs, which involves injecting filler into the buttocks, has increased significantly. Scarlet had her first BBL five years ago and delved into her experience and reasons. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. She said: 'My first surgery that I had, I think I was 20 years old I had my boobs done and I thought 'Oh that was nice' so I went and had my nose done and then the BBLs started I think five years ago I had my first one. 'And then I've kind of tried to have one every year, I did skip a year so I've had four all together for now.' Cat asked Scarlet what her appearance was like when she was younger and what made her want to change her looks. The 30-year-old shared she was 'always on the curvier side and never that skinny'. She decided she wanted to take her curves further through surgery and explained: 'I think I thought to myself, if I'm going to be curvy, lets be really curvy, lets make the most of it, lets see if I can have some stuff done so I am really happy with how I look.' The guest admitted social media 'is a big thing' and is influential but also shares that she has experienced people online being rude about her appearance 'all the time'. Ben looked shocked and Scarlet went on: 'I've had four rounds of lipo and they're still calling me fat, so you can't win, can you?' However, she admitted: 'They don't bother me because at the end of the day I'm happy with how I look, I get these things done for me, not for anyone else.' Scarlet also revealed she experienced lipo burns from her first BBL: 'So my first one I got some lipo burns on the side, at the time i didn't realise that was the norm.' 'It is one of the complications and risks that you do know that could happen,' she added. 'They healed okay, there's little scars and stuff but a the end of the day I knew the risks going in.' On Olivia's show, Scarlet hadn't met her surgeon until five minutes before her procedure. 'I'd done lots of research but that is kind of normal, when you're having surgery abroad you don't meet the surgeon until right before,' she explained. Scarlet also revealed she would not have chosen to have her last BBL in England. 'The surgeons in England like to do it very natural and that wasn't the look I wanted, when you go abroad they do give you the more extreme look,' she said. Some viewers watching This Morning felt the programme was 'irresponsible' to be broadcasting cosmetic surgery. Many posted on X: 'Once again #thismorning being consistently irresponsible by having women like this on.'; 'Why the Fk are they encouraging this like it's normal??!!! #thismorning.'; 'Shows like #thismorning are complicit in promoting this body modification insanity.' Dr Zoe Williams joined Scarlet and discussed the risks of cosmetic surgery like BBLs. 'Of all the cosmetic procedures out there it does have the highest death rate,' Zoe revealed. She added: 'I'm not here to judge Scarlet and you obviously knew the risks and yo weighed up the benefits and the risks for you and you felt that having that surgery fell on the side of benefits.' The resident TV doctor expressed how she was 'worried about people going abroad though, for that reason that they're not regulated in the same way.' 'There's a whole range of possible, dangerous side effects,' Zoe explained. 'The most important one that Scarlet mentioned is something called fat embolism,' she said. 'So when the fat is sucked out of the body in various different places, goes through a process of purification and is then injected into the butt, if it's injected into the muscle it can accidentally go into a blood vessel. 'That fat can then travel into the heart and travel to the lung and block the lung and that causes pulmonary embolism which can be fatal.' She shared other concerns including infection, tissue necrosis and the impact of recovery. This Morning airs weekdays on ITV1 from 10am and is available to stream on ITVX.
