City of Albany rangers are urging the owner of a dog that attacked a woman and bit her on the leg while she walked along Ocean Beach on the WA Day public holiday to come forward. Manager of public health and safety Scott Reitsema said the woman was collecting rubbish along a strip of beach when the attack happened between 9.30am and 10.30am on June 2. 'The incident involved a woman who was walking west along the beach while collecting rubbish,' she said. 'She was located near the second reef section of the beach east of the Wilson Inlet, an area managed by the City of Albany, when a medium-sized brown dog ran towards her and bit her on the left calf.' The wound needed immediate medical treatment. A man believed to be the dogs owner was present but did offer any identifying details.
