Hamilton Accies ace wants to repay club's faith by firing them to promotion

Scott Robinson says he never thought about leaving the club during a turbulent season Despite a turbulent season that ended with a 15-point deduction, pitching Hamilton Accies into League One, Scott Robinson never thought about leaving for a second. Winger Robinson 33, says he's remaining loyal to the club that backed him, and wants fans to do the same, though he acknowledges it might be difficult for some to get on board with the move to Broadwood. ‌ The former Partick Thistle star says they're determined to get back into the Championship as quickly as possible, and will use their Premier Sports Cup group as preparation, starting at Stirling Albion on Saturday, and continuing at home to Hearts on Tuesday. ‌ Robinson, who signed a two-and-a-half year deal in February, said: 'This is the God's honest truth, I never thought about leaving once, and that's credit to the gaffer, the staff, and the people at the club. 'I'm quite loyal and the club backed me, so I want to be loyal to them, and repay them by trying to get back up to the Championship. 'All the off-the-field stuff is nothing to do with us, we can't control what's going on up the stairs or behind the scenes, so we need to just focus on ourselves. 'The only issue we had was the clarity at the club, in terms of where they were after being relegated, because you never know financially and things like that. 'But you just need to let the people deal with that, and try to get the supporters on board to come here as well. ‌ 'It's important for the fans to get behind us. I know they're going to be frustrated, we've moved away from Hamilton for the time being, but they've got to try and support the boys in the team and forget any issues they've got with any board members or anything like that. 'I get their frustrations, 100 per cent, but if they can back us it would mean the world to the team.' When asked about the Premier Sports Cup, Robinson said: 'If I'm being brutally honest, our focus is on winning the league. Anything outside of that is a bonus. 'Promotion is everything, anything other than that would be a failure. We need to get promoted and we will be doing everything we can to make that happen. 'We're going in to win the cup games, but that's not our main focus. We just want to try and win the league.'

Iconic ‘90s Boy Band Reunites on Stage for the First Time in 25 Years

Iconic '90s Boy Band Reunites on Stage for the First Time in 25 Years originally appeared on Parade. Ask any millennial woman today, and she'd likely tell you her wall was plastered with boy band posters throughout the late '90s and early 2000s. While there is no denying the star power of groups like N'SYNC, Backstreet Boys and so many others, one that flew slightly under the radar was the beloved group Five (formerly styled as 5ive). The group formed in 1997 and released their debut single 'Slam Dunk (Da Funk)' just a year later. Comprised of five members Sean Conlon, Scott Robinson, Ritchie Neville, Abz Love, and Jason 'J' Brown, they released several hits before calling it quits in they cited reasons like mental health struggles and personal disagreements, all of that seems to be in the past as the group made a surprise reunion thanks to Robbie Williams (of Take That fame) during his performance at Emirates Stadium. 'I don't remember the words to this next bit," joked Williams. "I wonder if anybody can help me out. Ladies and gentlemen the first time they've been seen on stage for 25 years. My mates. Five!' Fans say they gave an "electric performance" of their hit 'Keep On Movin'.' "I can't begin to tell you how happy this made me," wrote one excited fan. "Thank you guys for getting back together." And if you missed the performance over the weekend, don't fret. The group is taking their act on the road this fall in the UK, which could (hopefully) mean a run for the U.S. is in the works, '90s Boy Band Reunites on Stage for the First Time in 25 Years first appeared on Parade on Jun 9, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 9, 2025, where it first appeared.

Robbie Williams reunites all the members of Five for the first time in 25 years

Robbie Williams has reunited all the members of the British boyband Five for the first time in a whopping 25 years. The 90s pop group came together to perform onstage with Williams at his Stadium show at Wembley in London over the weekend. At the Emirates Stadium, the '90s boy band, comprised of Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, Sean Conlon, Abz Love, and J Brown, performed their 1995 hit Keep On Movin'. Williams started to sing the song himself before telling the sold out crowd: 'I don't remember the words to this next bit. I wonder if anybody can help me out. Ladies and gentlemen, the first time they've been seen on stage for 25 years. My mates. Five!' The shows mark their first full tour together as a complete line-up since their early 2000s split. 'Reconnecting as a 5 has been special. We're ready. It's time,' said Robinson. 'Wow, what an honour to be asked by Robbie Williams to join him on stage at his London stadium show. Rob has been such a big supporter of ours, from the early days through to the comeback, so when he reached out to ask whether we'd come out on stage for his performance of Keep On Movin', it was the EASIEST yes,' the band later told fans on social media. They added: 'To get to share that moment with Robbie in front of 60k people was crazy … definitely a version of Keep On Movin' we'll never forget.' The surprise appearance was more than a one-off — Five officially announced their 2025 Keep On Movin' UK tour, a 25-date arena run kicking off October 29 in Cardiff, UK. Williams' latest tour follows the release of his biopic, Better Man, which became one of the biggest cinematic flops ever when it was released last December. Despite a warm reception from reviewers, the film – produced for a whopping $179 million – failed to make an impression upon its release. 'Robbie Williams played by a digitally animated chimpanzee [is] an outlandish choice. For anyone complaining that the industry plays it too safe, this is your movie,' David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research, told Variety. 'The risk-taking is excellent, but $110 million is not realistic for the genre and for this musical artist. $25 to $30 million would have made more sense.'

Emotional Hamilton Accies boss 'didn't sleep' after SFA appeal defeat, as he hails players for Falkirk showing

John Rankin gives is reaction to their relegation and defeat to Falkirk Emotional John Rankin hailed his Hamilton Accies players after giving Falkirk a real scare just 24 hours after being relegated. Accies lost their SFA appeal on Thursday night regarding a 15-point deduction for multiple breaches of SPFL rules, sending them to League One next season. ‌ But the players rallied from that bombshell to produce a valiant display in Grangemouth on a night Falkirk came from 1-0 down to triumph 3-1 - and pip title rivals Livingston to the Championship crown. ‌ Scott Robinson fired Accies in front after just five minutes to put Livi in the drving seat, bundling the ball home at the back post from close range. That lead lasted until the 33rd minute when Ethan Ross fired a free-kick straight down the middle of the goal and Accies keeper Dean Lyness made a hash of it to gift the hosts a leveller. That fired Falkirk up and, just shy of the hour mark, Ross capitalised on more poor defending from Accies to scramble the ball home from a corner. And in 71 minutes Calvin Miller completed their victory when he drilled a low strike into the bottom corner, beyond the despairing dive of Lyness. But Rankin praised his players for giving him their all in difficult circumstances. He commented: "I just said 'Thank you' to my players. I'm a bit emotional at the moment as I never slept last night. "But I awoke knowing they would give me everything and that's what they did. "These players don't know what the future holds but they know how to stick together. I honestly don't care about the result, I just wanted a performance and I got that."

Falkirk seal Championship title and promotion with win over Hamilton

Falkirk have won the Scottish Championship and sealed promotion to the Premiership with a win over Hamilton Accies. The Bairns fought back from a goal down to win 3-1 on Friday to secure a return to the top-flight for the first time in 15 years. It also means back-to-back promotions for John McGlynn's side who were playing in League One last season. In a dramatic last day in the second tier, Falkirk knew they would have to win to guarantee the title with Livingston breathing down their necks with both sides going into the final game joint on points. And some fans inside the sold-out Falkirk stadium would have been starting to worry when Scott Robinson put the already relegated visitors ahead after just five minutes. But Ethan Ross scored a double, with his goals coming either side of the half-time break, before Calvin Miller made sure of the victory to make it 3-1. Meanwhile, Livingston lost at home to Partick Thistle to end the campaign three points behind the new champions. David Martindale's side will now enter the playoff stage alongside the Jags and third placed Ayr United.
