Builth Wells streets to close overnight during Royal Welsh

Builth Wells' busiest streets will be closed overnight to all vehicles during Royal Welsh Show week. Broad Street and High Street will be shut to traffic from 8pm and 5am. Powys County Council said all vehicles in the two streets need to be moved by 8pm or they will be stuck until 5am. "Please keep everyone safe and avoid parking here during these times," a council spokesperson said. "We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. "Please share to help spread the word." The Royal Welsh Show exploded into action as competitions and events kicked off on the opening day on Monday (July 21) including high-profile visits from Princess Anne and Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch. Over at a Builth Wells pub, a star-studded list of celebrities will be appearing during the show week. Love Island runner-up Ciaran Davies and Geordie Shore's Scotty T, will be at The White Horse while Ultrabeat, who had a smash hit in 2003 with its cover of 'Pretty Green Eyes', are also performing, alongside a host of DJs. Geordie Shore and Love Island stars at White Horse

TWO more television heartthrobs have been announced as part of a Builth Wells pub's star-studded list of celebrities appearing during the Royal Welsh Show. The White Horse has welcomed former glamour model Katie Price, aka Jordan, as well as The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) star Joey Essex to the pub in recent years during Royal Welsh Show week, with another trove of reality TV stars set to appear this year. Two more names have been added in the last week, including Scotty T, of Geordie Shore fame, and Love Island season 11 runner-up Ciaran Davies. They join recognised names already announced, including fellow Love Islanders Sammy Root and Nicole Samuel, while Ultrabeat, who had a smash hit in 2003 with its cover of 'Pretty Green Eyes', are also performing, alongside a host of DJs. Scotty T, real name Scott Timlin, is best known for appearing on Geordie Shore from 2012 to 2019, while he also won Celebrity Big Brother in 2016. 'We told you we had more to come… and here he is,' the White Horse announced on Friday, July 11. 'Scotty T is joining us at the White Horse this Royal Welsh, on Wednesday, July 23. Get ready for a wild one – Why Aye Man.' On Friday, July 18, the town centre pub dropped another bombshell, saying: 'Welsh heartthrob and Love Island star Ciaran Davies is joining us, on Tuesday, July 22. 'Expect chaos. Expect tunes. Expect one hell of a night.' The pub's entertainment kicks off on Saturday, July 19, with Sammy, of Love Island All Stars and the Love Island series 10 winner, appearing, while Ryan Arnold will be behind the decks. Crowd favourite Danny T will be in charge on Sunday night, while Love Island 2024 runner-up Nicole will feature on Monday, alongside rising Australian DJ and producer Ely Oaks. Twin DJ duo Altego will be spinning tracks on Tuesday, while Ian Davies, resident DJ at the White Horse for the last decade, is back and will be warming you up every night. Entry to the pub is free all week, with the Royal Welsh Show itself taking place on the showground in Llanelwedd from Monday-Thursday, July 21-24.

REAL reason Sophie Kasaei quit Geordie Shore revealed as behind the scenes fallout exposed

THE REAL reason behind Sophie Kasaei's Geordie Shore departure can be revealed after a behind the scenes fallout. Sophie, 35, who has been a staple on the hit reality show on-and-off since its 2011 debut, walked away due to an ongoing pay dispute with MTV. 4 The reality star had been in negotiations with the network for several months, hoping to secure a pay rise that reflected her longstanding contribution to the show. However, despite numerous discussions and back-and-forths, the two sides ultimately couldn't reach an agreement. A source told The Sun: 'Sophie had been in discussions about a pay rise with MTV for months, but in the end, they couldn't agree on a figure. "Sophie decided to walk away as she felt she was worth more than they were offering - she has been on the show for a long time and brings a lot to the table. "There was a lot of back and forth, and in the end, negotiations stalled. "Sophie was gutted as she was really keen to come back, but she doesn't want to undersell herself.' Representatives for MTV and Sophie have been contacted for comment by The Sun. We previously told how Sophie had quit the series - just weeks after Scotty T was axed. An insider told us at the time: "Sophie has been in negotiations with show bosses for weeks now, but they can't agree on the terms of her next contract. "Sophie doesn't really want to leave, but she feels she feels like she brings a lot to the show and has been there a long time, so she wanted her new contract to reflect that. "Sadly, an agreement couldn't be reached, and while there could always be a last minute bid to keep her from MTV, as it stands right now, Sophie is walking away." Sophie, who joined ITVBe reality show The Only Way Is Essex in 2023, also has her hands full with a number of other projects. They continued: "She's sad about it, because the show has been a huge part of her life, but she has lots of other things going on - she's a regular on TOWIE, she's focusing on starting a family with her boyfriend Jordan and she has a radio show and lots of brand deals so she won't be short of work." Sophie's shock exit will come as a major blow to her fellow co-stars - including viewers of the much-loved show. "It's a blow for the show though as lots of the long standing cast members have departed, from Charlotte to Scotty T, and every time a much-loved Geordie departs, the show loses a bit of that magic that has allowed it to run for all these years," they added. 4 4
