With new album, rockers Birth (Defects) complete unfinished business
After more than half a life in underground music, Sean Gray was burned out. The Maryland native had spent years playing in bands, putting on DIY shows and running record labels, but around 2019, he felt a vibe shift in the culture and consumption of music and needed a break.
It was only after reengaging with music as a listener and not a lifer that he was able to appreciate what would become 'Deceiver/Mirror,' an unfinished album by Birth (Defects), a band he fronted that dissolved around the time he fell out of love with music.
