According to a report in Secret Seattle, Yelp recently ranked Seattle's Gas Works Park as the second-best place in the country to see fireworks this Fourth of July—second only to Niagara Falls. Yelp looked at its pages for parks and popular landmarks and scoured their reviews for terms like 'firework' and '4th of July.'The skies over Seattle's Lake Union exploded into a dazzling display on Friday, Fourth of July, as crew set up more than 7,000 pounds of carefully curated explosives to create Seattle's biggest fireworks show of the year. Thousands of people gathered at Gasworks Park to watch an astonishing fireworks presentation choreographed to by local nonprofit Seafair , the event included food vendors, beer gardens and live music, with an approximately 20-minute fireworks show that started at 10:20 has emerged as a top destination for the Fourth of July, according to a new report in KOMO News . 'We give the biggest show we possibly can to people,' Damon Kelly, a pyrotechnician for firework company Western Display Fireworks, told The Seattle Cantrell, president and CEO of Seafair, said this year's theme is 'bigger, better, bolder,' adding that the largest firework in the show is ten inches in diameter. Seafair pays for the event — including the fireworks — with the help of sponsorships. This year's presenting sponsor is Amazon, Cantrell said.
