Selvaraghavan's next, directed by Dennis Manjunath, goes on floors
Actor-director Selvaraghavan's next film, directed by Dennis Manjunath (Trip, Thookudurai), went on floors today, Wednesday, July 2. Starring Kannada actor Kushee Ravi as the female lead, the film commenced shoots in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The makers announced the news by sharing stills from the pooja ceremony of the film. The yet untitled film also stars seasoned actors such as YG Mahendran, Kousalya, and Mime Gopi. Sathish, Deepak, Hema, Lirthika, and N Jothi Kannan are also part of the cast. Details regarding the plot are unknown at the moment. With music scored by AK Prriyan, the film has cinematography by Ravi Varma K and editing by Deepak S. Bhakiyaraj serves as the art director. The yet untitled film is bankrolled by Vijaya Sathish under the Vyom Entertainments production banner.

Can you guess who we are talking about? Yes, it's Dhanush. Who is Dhanush? Born in July 1983, Dhanush hails from a family deeply rooted in the film industry. His father, Kasthuri Raja, has been a renowned film director and producer in Tamil cinema. On the other hand, his elder brother, Selvaraghavan, is also a notable filmmaker. The actor's mother, Vijayalakshmi, is a homemaker. Dhanush hails from Madras, Tamil Nadu, and has two sisters, Vimalageetha and Karthiga Karthik, who are younger than him. The actor and his family prefer to keep their lives low-key and are not often spotted out and about. Dhanush wanted to become a chef but was pressured to do films Despite coming from a film background, movies were never the first calling for Dhanush. In fact, he wished to take up a course in hotel management and become a chef. Devil's Double Next Level Tamil Nadu Box Office: Hit comedy sequel runs decently against Maaman over weekdays
Released on May 16, the Tamil movie Devil's Double Next Level is holding up decently at the box office. The action horror-comedy film, starring Santhanam, Selvaraghavan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Geethika Tiwary in the lead roles, opened better than its rival release, Maaman, but remained behind on the weekdays. Debuted with Rs 3.10 crore on its opening day, the horror-comedy recorded a solid opening weekend of Rs 9.40 crore gross, with Rs 3.15 crore and Rs 3.40 crore coming on Day 2 and Day 3, respectively. The movie registered a drop on its first Monday and added Rs 1.45 crore to the tally. As per estimates, the film is expected to add another Rs 1.40 crore today on Day 5, taking the five-day cume to Rs 12.50 crore gross in Tamil Nadu. Though the movie recorded a better opening weekend than Soori starrer Maaman, the latter excelled in registering better hold on weekdays. Currently, both movies are standing on a similar figure; their box office hold in the coming few days will determine who will win the clash. Interestingly, both films have emerged as a Clean Hit at the box office. They will continue to lure the audience for two more weeks before facing a massive release of Kamal Haasan's Thug Life.
