US Treasury chief says key trade deals may come by September
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Friday that Washington could reach key tariff deals with over a dozen partners in the coming months and have its trade agenda wrapped up by early September. His comments to Fox Business come ahead of a July 9 deadline for steeper US duties to kick in on dozens of economies. Countries have been rushing to negotiate and reach trade pacts with Washington to avoid this outcome, although the White House recently suggested that President Donald Trump's administration could extend this deadline. On Friday, Bessent noted that Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has expressed expectations for 10 deals with trading partners. The Treasury chief reiterated that there are 18 key partners the United States is focusing on agreements with. 'If we can ink 10 or 12 of the important 18, there are another important 20 relationships, then I think we could have trade wrapped up by Labour Day,' Bessent said. That holiday falls on September 1.

‘Everything about her was over the top': NI graphic designer creates pop-up book homage to composer who wrote Friends theme
Described as as the 'most famous person you've never heard of', Allee Willis wrote hits such as September and Boogie Wonderland. Now her legendary LA home is being captured in paper. The name Allee Willis is probably not known to many people on this side of the Atlantic, but for movie fans, she composed some of cinema's most iconic soundtracks — including Beverly Hills Cop and The Color Purple. The late songwriter is also known for transforming a Los Angeles Art Deco residence into a 1950s kitsch paradise which is honoured in a new pop-up book illustrated by a Co Down graphic designer. Neal McCullough, from Bangor, who established his graphic design business Hand Drawn Creative in 2009, was approached by one of Allee's friends, Hillary Carlip to illustrate the book, Willis Wonderland — The Legendary Home of Atomic Kitsch, after Allee passed away in 2019 at the age of 72.

The ‘Spider-Man 2' Extended Edition Is Finally Swinging Into Theaters
Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy is heading back into theaters once more, but this time things will look slightly different for the webslinger. For the first time, the home-release exclusive extended edition of Spider-Man 2 will be part of the theatrical release. Today Fathom Events announced that Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films will return to theaters for a limited time beginning September 26. All three movies will screen in 4K, but for the first time, the version of Spider-Man 2 hitting theaters is actually the 2007 extended cut of the film. Put out on DVD in 2007 in the run-up to Spider-Man 3's release, Spider-Man 2.1 features eight minutes of new footage integrated into the theatrical cut, extending multiple sequences in the film while also including a few brand-new scenes and alternate takes. Including, yes, that deleted scene of J. Jonah Jameson putting on the Spidey suit in his office to strike a few poses. The 2.1 cut has been available on home release ever since, including the Blu-ray releases of the trilogy, but the new theatrical run will mark the first time fans get to actually see it on the big screen. Maybe it'll make the wait for Brand New Day go a little quicker? Tickets for the Spider-Man trilogy are available starting July 25 through Fathom Events, with screenings of the trilogy taking place on September 26, 27, and 28, and with a follow-up run on October 3, 4, and 5. Cardi B defends decision to include WAP and Up on new album
Cardi B has defended her decision to include two older songs on her upcoming album. Earlier this week, the I Like It rapper announced that she will be releasing her second studio album, Am I the Drama?, on 19 September. However, some fans were quick to express their disappointment over the news that the 23-track project will include 2020's WAP, featuring Megan Thee Stallion, and 2021's Up. Taking to X on Wednesday, Cardi - real name Belcalis Almánzar - explained why she decided to include the tracks on the project. "This will be the last and only time I'm gonna address this... WAP and Up are two of my biggest songs, my fans have been asking me to put them on an album, and people search for them on IOP all the time... they deserve a home," she wrote, referring to her 2018 debut album, Invasion of Privacy. Cardi went on to note that the inclusion of the songs won't impact her sales. "I let haters make me not submit WAP for the Grammy's and at this point I'm giving my fans what they want!" the 32-year-old continued. "These two songs don't even count for first week sales so what are yall even crying about??? Do ya say anything when all these artist pull out all their little tricks and ponies to sell out??? let them eat cake. Go cry about it!!! (sic)." Am I the Drama? also includes the newly-released lead single, Outside.

‘Ultimate Dancouga' From ‘Super Robot Wars 30' Gets An Epic Chogokin
CCS Toys is doing a hefty toy of Ultimate Dancouga. Introduced in the DLC for Super Robot Wars 30, the suitably beefy Ultimate Dancouga is getting a hefty chogokin courtesy of CCS Toys this September. This toy of Ultimate Dancouga is not to be confused with the version from Good Smile Company coming out next year. Unlike that toy, this version has no combination or transformation gimmicks and is a straight-up action figure, albeit one with a lot of die-cast involved. Admittedly, in Super Robot Wars 30, we never got to see Ultimate Dancouga actually combine. It was only after Good Smile Company announced their version that we knew that Ultimate Dancouga was comprised of two mecha: the titular Dancouga and the all-new Dairyuga. The latter's beast form is also that of a dragon, hence its name. Obviously, as the Good Smile Company version transforms and combines, the price tag is an awful lot higher, which brings me to the great news about this CCS Toys version. Around 26 cm in height and featuring a lot of die-cast, the price tag is only 33,000 yen (before tax). That's around $227 at the current exchange rate, and an awful lot cheaper than other chogokins of this scale and complexity. To give some context, I have a few CCS Toys chogokins and all of them are gloriously good. Their Gurren Lagann and Mazinger Zero are especially notable. The die-cast used is not only in the joints but also in the frame, which gives excellent stability and durability for posing. The sculpts are also very well done, and it seems that this version of Ultimate Dancouga is very much in line with prior CCS Toys releases. In any case, Dancouga is probably my favorite super robot anime, and I can thoroughly recommend the recent Blu-ray release as well. While this CCS Toys version of Ultimate Dancouga won't be coming Westward, you will be able to pick it up from places such as HobbyLink Japan once it becomes available, as they've stocked their toy releases in the past. Follow me on X, Facebook and YouTube. I also manage Mecha Damashii and am currently featured in the Giant Robots exhibition currently touring Japan.
