I was on Universal Credit but just won £10k a month on Set For Life, I've made a £17k swanky buy but there is a downside

Plus, how she's responded to trolls who have weighed in on her win SPLASH THE CASH I was on Universal Credit but just won £10k a month on Set For Life, I've made a £17k swanky buy but there is a downside MANY people dream of winning the lottery, but for Olivia Love, who was on Universal Credit at the time, it has just become a reality. While some would be hesitant to broadcast the news, Olivia and her hubby Kevin have been speaking out about the life-changing prize in more detail on TikTok. The delighted prize winner did a Q&A video this week giving some more information about how it has been so far, since winning in June. Olivia shared on her @mrsolivialove account: 'The draw took place on the Thursday evening, I found out on the Friday morning and the money went into my account the following Thursday. However, she said it has changed her life for the better, saying: 'I feel like I can be more present now. Enjoy more moments. 'The stress I felt before stopped me enjoying the little things.' What are my chances of winning the lottery? EVERYONE wants to know how to beat the odds and win the lottery. But unfortunately, the lottery is a game of luck and there are no tips or tricks that can guarantee you'll take home a top prize. The odds show how likely you are to win any particular prize - the lower the number, the better the odds. For example, odds of 1 in 10 are better than odds of 1 in 100 or 1 in 1,000. There are several major lottery games in the UK including Lotto by the National Lottery, Camelot's EuroMillions and Thunderball. Chances of winning the Lotto Lotto by the National Lottery is a game where you pick six numbers from 1 to 59. You can play up to seven lines of numbers on each slip. The game costs £2 to play per slip. The odds of winning any prize on the Lotto are 1 in 9.3. But to win the jackpot on the Lotto, the odds are considerably slimmer. To bag the top prize, you need to have six matching balls. The odds of doing this and scooping the jackpot are currently 1 in 45,057,474. The next highest prize of £1,000,000 is for getting five main matching balls plus the bonus ball. The odds of taking home the million pound prize are 1 in 7,509,579 - far higher than the jackpot, but still unlikely. The odds of taking home £1,750 for getting five main numbers without the bonus ball are 1 in 2,180, while you have a 1 in 97 chance of bagging £140 for getting four main numbers. Your chances of taking home £30 for getting 3 main numbers are much better at 1 in 97. And you have a roughly 1 in 10 chance of getting a free lucky dip for 2 matching numbers. Chances of winning the EuroMillions The EuroMillions costs £2.50 to play and is open on Tuesdays and Fridays. To play, you must pick five numbers from 1-50 and two "Lucky Stars" from 1-12. Players with the most matching numbers win the top prizes. Your chance of bagging the EuroMillions jackpot is even slimmer than winning the top Lotto prize. This is because it generally has higher jackpots on offer, meaning it attracts more attention. Currently, the odds of matching five numbers and two lucky stars - the top win - stand at 1 in 139,838,160. The average jackpot prize is £57,923,499, according to EuroMillions. The odds of winning the second top prize for matching 5 balls and a lucky star, which is typically around £262,346, are 1 in 6,991,908. The chances of taking home the third prize for five matching balls, with an average payout of £26,277, are 1 in 3,107,515. For four matching balls with two lucky stars, it's 1 in 621,503, and for four balls with one lucky star, it's 1 in 31,076. These come with an average prize of £1,489 and £95, respectively. Chances of winning the Thunderball Thunderball is another game run by National Lottery where you pick five numbers and one "Thunderball". It costs just £1 to play and you can enter up to four times a week. The jackpot of £500,000 for matching five balls plus the Thunderball is 1 in 8,060,598. Your odds of bagging the next highest prize of £5,000 for matching five balls is currently 1 in 620,046, while the chances of winning £250 for four balls plus the Thunderball is 1 in 47,416. You have the best chance of winning £3 for matching the Thunderball, with odds of 1 in 29.

As most of the UK starts to sweat in another stifling heatwave, sales of fans, coolers, and air conditioners are really hotting up. And Wowcher seems to have one of the best deals we can find on a full-size portable air cooler this week, with a massive 70% discount off this amazing device. It's an evaporative cooler, which is far cheaper, more economical, and less cumbersome than an air conditioner, but using cold water and ice blocks, it's almost as effective. And, for just £29.99 it's an absolute bargain. To use it, you just fill the water tank in the base with cold water, then freeze some ice packs which sit in the top of the unit. The cold air being drawn off the water combined with the icy blast from the blocks which sit behind the vents combine to give you a wonderfully refreshing breeze in any room. It has three speed settings, which means you can turn it right down for bedtime, or right up for maximum relief from the heat, and the 120-degree oscillation means the air is moved evenly across your indoor space. Hirix usually charges £99.99 for this unit, but if you order a voucher on Wowcher's website you'll get it for £29.99. Fans are effective, air conditioning is even better, but for a blend of price and performance, you really can't go wrong with an evaporative cooler. Ninja Foodi AF300UK lowest ever price in Amazon Prime Day deal

Ninja's AF300UK doesn't normally drop to this price | Amazon This article contains affiliate links. We may earn a small commission on items purchased through this article, but that does not affect our editorial judgement. Amazon has slashed the price of the hugely popular Ninja AF300UK air fryer to just £124.99 for Prime Day—the lowest we've ever seen it. Sign up to our daily newsletter Sign up Thank you for signing up! Did you know with a Digital Subscription to Edinburgh News, you can get unlimited access to the website including our premium content, as well as benefiting from fewer ads, loyalty rewards and much more. Learn More Sorry, there seem to be some issues. Please try again later. Submitting... Looking at the price trackers, the Ninja Foodi AF300UK, one of the most popular dual-drawer air fryers on the market, has hardly ever dropped below £169.99. It's usual price is around £220, but it's Amazon Prime Day week, and until Friday, it's one of the most heavily-discounted Ninja products on Amazon right now. It's down to just £124.99. That's an amazing price, and the only time it's been that low before was during a brief stint at Black Friday. If you blinked, you'd have missed it. Dual drawers means you can easily feed a family in one go | Amazon The AF300UK is the smaller 7.6-litre variant of Ninja's most popular air fryer. While it's more compact, it has the same set of six functions, the same innovative layout, and it's just as easy to use and clean. Amazon Prime Day started this morning and runs until Friday. This deal is likely to last until the end of the promotional period, but we don't know how long stocks will last and we are confident this will be popular. If you would rather have the larger AF400UK version, there's also a discount on that. It's not as healthy, at only 30%, but it brings the price down to £159.99 - which is a bargain. Just be careful choosing colours, as the discount will only apply to certain variations. But this could be your best chance to bag the best air fryer on the market for a record low price. Amazon Amazon deal of the day: Ninja Creami £ 156.00 Buy now Buy now The Ninja CREAMi is a game-changer for homemade ice cream lovers – and it's currently on offer at Amazon for just £156, down from £199.99. This versatile machine makes everything from gelato and frozen yoghurt to smoothies and milkshakes using preset programmes and easy-freeze tubs. Just mix your ingredients, freeze for 24 hours, and let the Ninja do the rest. It's perfect for creative flavour combos and ideal for anyone with dietary needs – whether you're dairy-free, vegan or keto. Stocks are limited and the deal won't last forever, so grab one now and treat yourself to a summer of frozen delights. Saturday Lotto: West Aussie cashes in on their winning ticket to become millionaire

A West Aussie became an instant millionaire after cashing in their $1.69 million lotto ticket from the Saturday draw. The lucky winner was one of four players to match the numbers for a division one prize, having bought their ticket through Lotterywest Play Online, while the other winners came from Queensland and Victoria. The life-changing numbers were 13, 6, 14, 19, 4 and 17, while the supplementary's were 11 and 1. Another 14 players out west finished their week with a nice collect, pocketing $5700 from a division two win. Lotterywest spokeperson Zoe Wender said that it was a successful weekend for players out west. 'In addition to Saturday's win, a WA player also won Division Two in Sunday's Set for Life draw,' she said. 'Shoalwater News and Lotto sold the Set for Life Division Two winning ticket, and the player will pocket $5000 a month for the next 12 months.' West Aussies have been living large with lotto wins, with a Perth man collecting his $1.6 million prize from a division one win in the Saturday Lotto draw on June 28, 2025. He bought the winning slip from The Lucky Charm in Morley while waiting to collect a birthday cake for a family member, and he has already planned to use the winnings to buy a home and visit family overseas. Punters that want to win big are being encouraged to pick up a ticket for Saturday Lotto's $30 million Megadraw on July 26.
