Clairo and Ayo Edebiri Arrested as Sabrina Carpenter's 'Juno' Girls
Clairo and Ayo Edebiri just joined a long line of celebs who have been arrested at Sabrina Carpenter's concert. No, they weren't actually arrested—they were rightfully named Sabrina's 'Juno' girls for the night during her second headlining show at London's BST Hyde Park on July 6.
In case you need a refresher, Sabrina chooses someone to 'arrest for being too hot' with fuzzy pink handcuffs before performing her song 'Juno,' surrounded by blue-and-red lights and siren sounds. In the past, she's given shoutouts to A-listers like Millie Bobby Brown, Salma Hayek, and Marcello Hernandez. Now, Clairo and Ayo are getting the same treatment after the 'Sexy to Someone' singer opened for Sabrina at Hyde Park.
In a fan-captured video posted to Pop Crave, the duo started a hilarious bit as Sabrina called on them in the crowd. Once the cameras panned on them, they started doing Charli XCX's 'Apple' dance, to which Sabrina playfully quipped, 'So it's close, that's just a different show.'
There are layers to this joke, people! ICYMI, Charli does some similar crowd work at her concerts, and Clairo was chosen as the 'Apple' girl during one of her Brooklyn shows back in May.
The 'Manchild' hitmaker then kept the bit going and referenced the infamous 'Clairo shade' joke that's made its rounds online.
'Ayo, I'm feeling you so hard,' Sabrina said before realizing she unintentionally left Clairo out. She continued, 'Sorry about the Clairo shade, I'm kidding. Claire, I love you too.'
The love didn't stop there. Sabrina also shared a sweet black-and-white photo of the pair in her latest Instagram photo dump, where she wrote, 'To my sweet 'Juno' girls @clairo @ayoedebiri I'm looking forward to our life together 🤍.'
Another Ayo and Clairo collab—even in the form of a deliciously chaotic concert cameo—is just what we needed. They go way back, as the 'Sofia' singer reflected on her friendship with Ayo during her Seventeen cover interview in April.
'We probably met through mutual friends, but I am a massive fan of Ayo's. The way she thinks is amazing and she's so creative, funny, and naturally herself,' the Grammy nominee said of The Bear star before calling her a 'quality human.'
She added, 'It's nice to be friends with people who are experiencing similar things to you. Having that empathy for each other is helpful. You lean on each other.'
