Brazil striker Igor Jesus joins Nottingham Forest after starring at Club World Cup

Nottingham Forest confirm Igor Jesus signing from Botafogo
Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Botafogo striker Igor Jesus on a four-year deal. Jesus joined Botafogo from UAE Pro League side Shabab Al Ahli in 2024 and played 59 games for the Brazilian side, registering 17 goals. He has scored nine goals and provided one assist in 29 games in the 2025 season, including two in Botafogo's four games as they reached the last 16 of the Club World Cup. 'I didn't have to think twice about the offer, I embraced it,' Jesus said in a Forest news release. 'I embraced the project that they sent me. 'I am delighted to be coming here and hope to do some great work.' Jesus started Botafogo's round of 16 defeat against Palmeiras in the Club World Cup, playing the whole game as they lost in extra time.
