Aamir Khan reflects on calling Shah Rukh Khan ‘chichora': 'Maybe he was upset with me'

Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, once rivals who called each other 'chichora,' have grown into close friends. Despite past teasing and differences over film promotions, they now share late-night catch-ups and mutual respect, highlighting how time transformed their relationship from rivalry to genuine camaraderie. Once rivals, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have transformed their relationship over time. Recently, in an interview, Aamir reflected on their past clashes, including teasing each other as 'chichora.' Today, their bond is strong, showcasing how years of growth have turned former tensions into genuine friendship. Early Days and Misunderstandings Reflecting on his earlier relationship with Shah Rukh during an interview with Lallantop, Aamir revealed, 'I hadn't known Shah Rukh so much that time, we would keep meeting often, we even hung out together back then at either of our places.' He clarified a funny misunderstanding from a Panchgani farmhouse vlog where he mentioned Shah Rukh licking his feet—explaining that it was actually the dog named after Shah Rukh. Aamir also shared how Shah Rukh frequently jokes about him, especially since Aamir skips award functions every year, yet they continue to tease him. Aishwarya Rai is one of the most talented actresses of her generation. Her stunning looks and acting skills have won hearts across the world. But even for someone like her, the film industry hasn't always been fair. There was a time when Aishwarya was suddenly removed from five big films that were meant to feature her with Shah Rukh Khan . This left her feeling confused and deeply hurt. Replaced without a reason For those who don't know, reportedly Aishwarya and Shah Rukh were supposed to star together in several films, including 'Chalte Chalte', 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' and 'Veer Zaara'. Fans were excited to see the two on screen again. But without any reason, Aishwarya was replaced in all of them. It shocked many people in the industry and left Aishwarya wondering what had gone wrong. A painful chat with Simi Garewal The 'Jodhaa Akbar' actress once spoke about this difficult time on 'Rendezvous with Simi Garewal'. Simi brought up how Aish had been working on five films with Shah Rukh when she was suddenly dropped. In fact, 'Veer-Zaara' was written with Aishwarya in mind. Talking about this, the 'Dhoom 2' actress said, 'There were a couple of films that were supposed to happen with me. But suddenly they weren't happening, without any reason whatsoever. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Most Beautiful Women In The World Undo I have never had the answer to why.' 'Of course hurt' When asked if it was her decision to step away from these projects, the 'Guru' actress made it clear it was not. She said, 'No, it wasn't my decision. You obviously are taken aback, confused, and of course hurt. You wonder about it.' Seeing how the industry works Aishwarya also spoke about how this experience opened her eyes to the way the film industry can work. She said, 'You become more aware of what you've heard about, like in terms of…situations, people having a domino effect on another people or other projects.' Even though she was already a big star with many box office hits, she realised that no one is truly safe in this business. As she put it, 'It became obvious that it can happen to me too…with all your apparent box office success or 'secure positioning' in the industry.' Moving on with grace Despite being hurt and confused, Aishwarya did not let this stop her. She carried on with her work and continued to shine in many successful and much-loved films, both in India and around the world.

Jackie Shroff recalls seeing Shah Rukh Khan's ‘akelapan' during Devdas, King Uncle: ‘Akele kone mein baitha…'

Bollywood actors Jackie Shroff and Shah Rukh Khan are among the few outsiders who made it big in the industry. The two have also worked together in several hits like Happy New Year, Devdas and more. In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Jackie spoke about how he saw Shah Rukh being aloof during the shoot of King Uncle. He further talked about being lonely at the top. Jackie Shroff opens up on working with Shah Rukh Khan in Devdas and King Uncle. When asked about what he observed in Shah Rukh's growth from King Uncle to Devdas, Jackie recalled SRK playing his younger brother in King Uncle and said, "Akelapan. Har actor ko ek lonely feel hona chahiye, mere ko bola tha ye kisi ne. So I saw him sitting out there, on his own. He was playing my younger brother. And he was respectful, focused on his work, he was charismatic, he was charming. But aloof. Like I was aloof, he also aloof. I liked those vibes (Loneliness. Every actor should experience a sense of loneliness, someone once told me that. I saw him sitting there alone. He was playing my younger brother. He was respectful, focused, charismatic, but aloof. Just like I was aloof, he was too. I liked that vibe)." He then spoke about working with him on Devdas and said, "Devdas se pehle bhi humne kayi films ki. One 2 Ka Four kiya aur ek-do films aur. Par Devdas mein normal tha. Mere liye toh mera bhai tha, chhota bhai jo maine dekha. Wohi ladka jo maine dekha tha ki akele kone mein baitha hai. Role bhi waisa tha Devdas ka, aur main jaisa hoon waisa hi tha uske saath (We had done several films before Devdas, One 2 Ka Four and a couple of others. But on Devdas, he was the same. For me, he was still my younger brother. The same boy I had once seen sitting quietly in a corner. Even the role of Devdas suited that vibe. And I was the same with him as I always had been)," admiting that it's lonely at top. Shah Rukh and Jackie have worked together in several films like Trimurti, King Uncle, One 2 Ka 4, Devdas and Happy New Year, among others. If reports are to be believed, Jackie and SRK are all set to work together again in Siddharth Anand's directorial, King. The film also stars Suhana Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Saurabh Shukla, and reports suggest that Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and Deepika Padukone have also joined the cast. The film is currently under production.

Shah Rukh Khan always had an ‘akelapan', Jackie Shroff recalls working with SRK in Devdas: ‘It's lonely at the top'

Actors Shah Rukh Khan and Jackie Shroff have shared the screen multiple times over the decades, building an evident camaraderie. Their association dates back to Shah Rukh's early days in the industry. In only his second year in films, Khan starred alongside Shroff, already an established name at the time, in King Uncle. The duo went on to collaborate in films like Trimurti, One 2 Ka Four, and more notably, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas. In a recent interview with journalist Vickey Lalwani, Jackie Shroff opened up about working with Shah Rukh during those formative years, particularly during King Uncle. 'Akelapan. I liked that vibe).' Jackie also reminisced about their time together on the sets of Devdas, by which point Shah Rukh had already become one of the biggest superstars in the country. Yet, Jackie says little had changed about his co-star's core personality. 'Devdas se pehle bhi humne kayi films ki. And I was the same with him as I always had been).' Speaking philosophically, Jackie shared his thoughts on loneliness at the top, a sentiment he feels Khan embodies well. 'I think if you go to the top of the Everest, you will just have your shadow. Otherwise, it's lonely up there.' Interestingly, this isn't the first time Jackie has spoken in such heartfelt terms about Shah Rukh. During promotions for Happy New Year, a film that again brought them together, he had said something similar: 'He is a guy about whom I always tell people. I tell Tiger (son), look at him, in King Uncle he was playing my younger brother, he was the lead. But jis hisaab se baba ne apni zindagi ko pakda aur aaj ek raja hai… ek king hai… seekho isse… isse har baar seekhna chahiye. Bohot acha ladka hai… bohot deep hai… jitna khush rehta hai, jitna dikhata hai, utna hi akela hai. Raja hai na… toh aap pahad ke upar jaake dekho… bottom se aaya hai aur aaj choti ko pakad ke rakha hai… aur apne aap ko badshah ki tarah rakha hai (But the way he's held on to his life, today he's a king. Learn from him, you should always learn from him. He's a great guy… very deep. As happy as he looks, he's equally lonely. He's a king after all. Go to the top of a mountain, you'll see, he came from the bottom and today, he's holding the peak, and he's carried himself like a true king).' Sources close to the project suggest that Jackie Shroff may reunite with Shah Rukh Khan in the highly anticipated upcoming film King, directed by Siddharth Anand.

Shah Rukh Khan would not be as loved for his iconic pose today for this reason, claims Vidya Balan

Jun 28, 2025 06:11 AM IST Actor Vidya Balan has not worked with Shah Rukh Khan in a full-length film, but has shared screen space with him in Heyy Babbyy and in the song Deewangi Deewangi from Om Shanti Om. The actor referred to Shah Rukh's iconic pose and how he is loved by an entire nation for his romantic films during an interview recently, with Bollywood Hungama. (ANI Photo)(Sunil Khandare) During the interaction, Vidya opened up about the shift in the industry and how the films have changed over the years. She shared, 'Maybe a lot of these filmmakers, probably they have studied abroad… or watched too much international content. They are not assisting directors. I may sound like too much of a senior when I say this but I don't think they know what our kind of storytelling is! They are not familiar with it so it is alienating. It is not engrossing me.' About Shah Rukh Khan's effect She went on to add, 'I am enjoying the masala films because it is not pretentious. A lot of these directors… they don't even use close-ups. I find that shocking. The only way to connect with your character is through a close-up. Give me close-ups! Let me look into the eye! That's how the nation fell in love with Shah Rukh Khan for god's sake! Imagine if he was only doing this (imitates arms-stretched wide pose), he won't be as loved!' Shah Rukh is known for his romantic films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa, Dil Toh Pagal Hai and more. He was last seen in Rajkummar Hirani's Dunki in 2023. He will be seen next in King, in which his daughter Suhana Khan also has a pivotal role. Meanwhile, Vidya was last seen in the horror-comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri. The film released in Diwali last year and emerged as a box office success.
