About Kannappa
The mythological drama Kannappa, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, has made a significant impact at the box office since its release in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
With the Telugu version leading the charge, the film has garnered attention for its star-studded cameos, featuring industry heavyweights like Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal. The ensemble cast, comprising seasoned actors like Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo and Preity Mukhundhan, adds depth and richness to the narrative.
Kannappa tells the inspiring story of Thinnadu, a tribal hunter who transforms into the revered Shiva devotee Kannappa. The movie chronicles his remarkable journey from an atheist to one of Lord Shiva's most devoted followers, showcasing his unwavering dedication and ultimate sacrifice.
Interestingly, Vishnu Manchu recently revealed at a press conference in Hyderabad that some exceptional scenes had to be cut from the film due to subpar visual effects (VFX). Despite this setback, Kannappa has achieved significant success, becoming Vishnu's highest-grossing film to date. This is a notable turnaround, considering his previous films, Ginna and Mosagallu, struggled to cross the Rs 1 crore mark.
On Shaheer Sheikh's work front, the actor was last seen in Do Patti alongside Kriti Sanon in the lead, where he played the role of an abusive husband named Dhruv Sood.
