Passport of Rajasthan staffer held for spying reveals 4 Pakistan trips
JAISALMER: The intelligence unit of Rajasthan Police Saturday found the passport of alleged ISI spy Shakur Khan during a search at his govt residence in Jaisalmer. The passport revealed he made four trips to Pakistan, with the most recent visit in March 2025. Khan, who had claimed his old passport was lost, was arrested earlier this week under the Official Secrets Act. An assistant administrative officer at the Jaisalmer district employment office, Khan is accused of facilitating Pakistani visas for numerous individuals through direct connections with Pakistani High Commission officials. Inspector General Vishnu Kant of Rajasthan Intelligence Agency confirmed that Khan worked closely with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a Pakistani official who was expelled from India on May 13. The espionage case has expanded significantly with over 25 individuals who received visa assistance from Khan being interrogated by a Rajasthan Intelligence team. The questioning continued for the second consecutive day on Saturday. "We are examining Khan's bank account records," Kant told TOI. Jaipur/Jaisalmer: A Jaipur court on Tuesday sent Shakur Khan, an assistant administrative officer in the employment department in Jaisalmer, to seven days' police remand after intelligence agencies arrested him for allegedly spying for Pakistan. Khan was picked up from his Mangliyon Ki Dhani village on May 28 and formally arrested on Monday evening following multiple rounds of interrogation at the Intelligence Bureau headquarters in Jaipur. According to the prosecution, WhatsApp chats, frequent communication with Pakistan-based individuals, and multiple unauthorised visits to the country without informing the department pointed to his involvement in espionage. Khan, who has been booked under Official Secrets Act, 1923, was produced before a local court in Jaipur. Prosecution officer Sudesh Kumar Sattawan said: "We sought 10-day remand, arguing that he made unauthorised visits to Pakistan and there was evidence of his contact with ISI. Further interrogation is needed to gather more evidence and uncover any spy network he may have been linked to within India." IG (CID security) Vishnu Kant Gupta said Khan had been under surveillance for some time. "It was found that Shakur Khan was in regular contact with certain individuals working at the Pakistani embassy, particularly Danish and Sohail Qamar, among others," the officer said. Rajasthan: Govt employee arrested on allegations of spying, sent to 7-day police custody over Pakistan's ISI links
Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], June 3 (ANI): A court in Rajasthan has sent Shakur Khan, who was arrested by the state Intelligence on Tuesday on charges of spying for Pakistan's ISI, to seven-day police custody to investigate the matter. He was accused of collecting and sharing information with Pakistan's ISI agents, according to the officials. The accused, identified as Shakur Khan, who served as an Assistant Administrative Officer in Jaisalmer, was charged with leaking strategic information to Pakistan's intelligence agency. According to the officials, he had been under surveillance for a long time due to suspicious activities. Special Public Prosecutor Sudesh Kumar Satwan said, 'Shakur Khan, who is a government employee, has been arrested over some anti-national activities. The court has granted 7 days of police custody. After the investigation, we will present him before the court again. A probe is being conducted over some Pakistani phone numbers.' Inspector General of Police (CID Security) Vishnu Kant Gupta confirmed that Khan had been under surveillance for a long time. Gupta said that Shakur Khan's activities were suspicious for a long time. Because of this, the security agencies were closely monitoring him. 'During the surveillance, it was revealed that Shakur Khan was in constant contact with some persons working in the Pakistan Embassy, especially Ahsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish and Sohail Qamar. It is worth noting that Danish has already been declared 'undesirable person' by the Government of India and sent back to Pakistan,' he added. A case has been registered against him under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and the accused has been arrested. Further investigation is still ongoing in the matter. In another incident, acting swiftly on information received from Counter-Intelligence-Punjab, Tarn Taran Police, in a joint operation, arrested Gagandeep Singh, a resident of Mohalla Rodupur, Gali Nazar Singh Wali, Tarn Taran. The arrested accused had been in contact with the Pakistan ISI and Gopal Singh Chawla, sharing sensitive information concerning army movements during Operation Sindoor. Investigations revealed that he was engaged in sharing classified details, including troop deployments and strategic locations, posing a threat to national security. Preliminary investigation revealed that Gagandeep Singh had been in touch with Pakistan-based Khalistani supporter Gopal Singh Chawla for the past five years, through whom he was introduced to the Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs). He also received payments from PIOs via Indian channels. Thorough financial and technical investigations are underway to trace other linkages and establish the full scope of this espionage network. A case has been registered against him under this act, and he was arrested.
