Jammu and Kashmir [India], July 2 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha applauded the Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces for maintaining excellent security after he flagged off the first batch of pilgrims on Wednesday. The 45-day pilgrimage will commence on July 3. He also congratulated the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine for providing excellent facilities. 'Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board has made excellent facilities for the Yatra. Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces have also maintained tight security. Speaking on the arrangements, Sinha said, '...For the pilgrims, the J&K administration, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and the residents of J&K have performed their duties well. There used to be darkness on the route; now, grid connectivity has been established.' 'Telecom connectivity has become completely prominent throughout the way. High-quality cameras have been installed for the Yatra LIVE feed. Yatra is monitored 24/7 from the Integrated Command and Control Centre in the Raj Bhawan and the Police Control Room... As the pilgrims departed, chants of 'Har Har Mahadev' and 'Bam Bam Bhole' filled the air. BJP leader Sat Sharma told ANI, 'Thousands of devotees have come here for Baba Amarnath Darshan. Just two months ago, a different environment was created, but today we can see how the devotees are raising Baba Bhole's slogans. The people have faith that they are in safe hands.' A devotee named Shalu, who is part of the first batch, said she was happy with the arrangements and felt completely safe.'...We are delighted... We waited for it for an entire year. The arrangements are excellent, from food to accommodation. There is nothing to be scared of. The security is perfect,' Shalu told ANI. Another devotee, Akanksha, said, '...We planned to be a part of the first batch. We were not scared because we knew that the security would be adequate... The arrangements are very good; food, accommodation, sanitation, and all facilities are very good...' The Amarnath Yatra is being conducted through the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The Jammu-Srinagar Highway is a key route for the thousands of pilgrims heading to the shrine. (ANI)

Chhattisgarh CM Provides Rs 1.7 Lakh Aid To Athlete For Softball Championship In China

Last Updated: Chhattisgarh CM's call to 17-year-old Shalu Dahariya, a national-level softball player, ensured her expenses for the Asia Youth Softball Championship in China were covered In a moment that will forever be etched in the memory of 17-year-old Shalu Dahariya, a video call from Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai turned what seemed like an insurmountable hurdle into a milestone of hope. Shalu, a national-level softball player from Janjgir-Champa district, has earned a coveted spot in the Indian team for the Asia Youth Softball Championship, slated to be held in Xi'an, China from July 14 to 20. But while her talent opened international doors, it was a timely intervention from the highest level of government that ensured she could walk through them. The daughter of a private security guard and a beauty parlour worker, Shalu's journey has been one of resilience and quiet determination. Starting softball in Class 8, she has already represented Chhattisgarh in national championships a dozen times, clinching a gold medal along the way. Yet, when the opportunity to represent India arrived, the cost – Rs 1.70 lakh for international travel and preparation – stood like a wall in her path. That wall crumbled when her story reached the ears of the Chief Minister. In a surprise gesture, CM Sai reached out to Shalu directly via video call. His message was both heartfelt and firm. 'Daughter, move forward fearlessly. We are all with you. Chhattisgarh is proud of you," the CM said. What followed was more than just words of encouragement; it was action. Acting swiftly on the Chief Minister's instructions, Janjgir-Champa Collector Janmejay Mahobe personally handed over a cheque of Rs 1.70 lakh to Shalu, covering all her expenses for the international trip. Shalu's story is now echoing across Chhattisgarh, inspiring countless young girls who dare to dream big in the face of financial constraints. It serves as a powerful reminder that when governments move beyond red tape and respond with empathy and urgency, they don't just fund ambitions; they help rewrite destinies. Chhattisgarh CM arranges funds for softball player Shalu Dahariya to take part in international event

The proverb 'where there is a will, there is a way' became a reality for a Chhattisgarh-based Softball woman player Shalu Dahariya, who has been selected in the Indian team for Women's Softball Asia Cup, which will be held in China early next month. She was thrilled with happiness knowing that she has been included in Indian Women's team for Softball Championship scheduled between July 14 to 20 in China's Xi'an, but still there was uncertainty as her family could not afford the money required for travelling to China. Shalu, who had started playing Softball since her early age, and has won more than a dozen awards, was upset because her parents could not afford to send her to China. She needed Rs 1.7 lakh to participate in China, and this amount was not affordable to her parents. Her father works as a security guard. However, a phone call she received on Sunday morning, filled Shalu and her parents with joy again. The phone call she received was from the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who assured Shalu that financial shortage won't be a hurdle now and assured her that she will go to China to participate in Women's Softball Asia Cup. Talking to Shalu in a video phone call, Chief Minister Sai, said, "Daughter... you are the pride of Chhattisgarh. Don't worry and get ready to leave and participate in Softball Asia Cup in China. The government will pay whatever amount is needed for it. My best wishes to you." The Chief Minister in statement also said that the Chhattisgarh government is committed to provide all possible help to youths. "Our government not only encourages daughters to make their career, but also support them at every step," he added. One hour later, Shalu received another phone call from Janjgir District Collector's office, and she was asked to reach the office. Upon reaching there, Janjgir District Collector Janmejay Mahobe handed over a cheque of Rs 1.7 lakh to Shalu. Shalu's family has expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Sai for providing financial support and encouragement. "We are really thankful to our Chief Minister for his helping hand. We are also happy that he talked to us on phone call. Now, my daughter will live her dream," said Shalu's mother Alka Dahariya.
