Ram Charan's Game Changer damaged me financially, says producer Dil Raju
Producer Dil Raju, known for his film choices and honest statements, has now opened up about the commercial failure of his ambitious project 'Game Changer'. In a recent conversation, he admitted that he sensed the film's underperformance well before its a recent interview with actor Nithiin during the promotion of their upcoming film 'Thammudu', he said, 'I started realising that the film releasing on January 10 (Game Changer) was going to damage me financially. Even the distributors were feeling low.'advertisementTalking about his other release that season, 'Sankranthiki Vasthunnam', he added, 'But I was confident that 'Sankranthiki Vasthunnam' would become a hit. I usually know in the editing room whether a film will work or not. My only thought was how much this film is going to damage, and how much the other one is going to save.' Directed by Shankar, 'Game Changer' is a political drama in which Ram Charan plays an IAS officer. It was mounted as a landmark project, marking Charan's 15th film and Sri Venkateswara Creations' 50th production venture. Riding on the massive success of 'RRR', Charan teamed up with ace director Shankar, who made his Telugu directorial debut with this film, raising expectations even the trailer of Game Changer: The film featured a star-studded cast including Kiara Advani, Anjali, SJ Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, Jayaram, and Samuthirakani. However, its Sankranti release saw an underwhelming response both critically and Raju's remarks have once again highlighted the unpredictable nature of big-budget filmmaking, and the crucial role that timing and creative control play in such high-stakes ventures.- Ends

RCB Are 'Prima Facie Responsible' For IPL Stampede Outside Chinnaswamy Stadium
Last Updated: The Central Administrative Tribunal held Royal Challengers Bengaluru responsible for the June 4 stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium, which killed 11. The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on Tuesday stated that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are 'prima facie responsible" for the stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4, which resulted in the death of 11 people. Nearly 2.5 lakh fans crowded the MG Road and Cubbon Road areas near the stadium after RCB announced a victory parade from the Vidhana Soudha and a fan engagement programme at the stadium to celebrate the team's maiden IPL triumph. '…therefore, prima facie it appears that the RCB is responsible for the gathering of about three to five lakh people. The RCB did not take the appropriate permission or consent from the Police," the CAT noted. 'Suddenly, they posted on social media platforms and as a result of aforesaid information the public were gathered," added the CAT in its observation. The RCB had posted on its social media handles about the parade and the fan engagement on the morning of June 4, and the Tribunal noted that the police department did not have sufficient time to manage such a large gathering at such short notice. 'Because of shortage of time on 04.06.2026, the Police was unable to do the appropriate arrangements. Sufficient time was not given to the Police. Suddenly, the RCB created the aforesaid type of nuisance without any prior permission. 'Police personnel are also human beings. They are neither 'God" (Bhagwan) nor Magician and also not having the magic powers like 'Alladdin ka Chirag" which was able to fulfil any wish only by rubbing a finger," the CAT observed. Earlier, charges were pressed against RCB and the Karnataka State Cricket Association regarding the tragic events, leading to the resignation of KSCA secretary A. Shankar and treasurer Jayaram.

Producer Shirish says he thought their ‘lives were over' after Ram Charan's Game Changer failure; no one offered help
If there's one film that surprised everyone this year, and not in a pleasant way, it has to be Shankar's Ram Charan, SJ Suryah and Kiara Advani-starrer Game Changer. The film was released with high expectations on Sankranthi, and the result was anything but favourable. In a rare interview with Great Andhra, producer Shirish, Dil Raju's brother, spoke about the aftermath of the film's failure. Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in a still from Shankar's much-hyped film Game Changer. Shirish spoke about how risky the film business was and brought up Sankranthiki Vasthunam and Game Changer, which released days apart from each other, as examples. He said, 'Everyone knows how risky the cinema business is. For example, look at Sankranthiki Vasthunam and Game Changer. With Game Changer, we thought our lives were over. We got hope from Sankranthiki Vasthunam. Our lives changed within four days. If we didn't have that, think of our situation now.' The producer also mentioned that after Game Changer flopped, nobody, including Ram and Shankar, reached out to him and his brother as a courtesy or to offer help. 'When Game Changer flopped, did the hero come and help us? Did the director come and help us? No one even asked us how we were doing, even out of courtesy. I am not blaming anyone because we made the film out of our wish, and we faced losses. We have not come down to the stage of asking back remuneration,' he explained. Dil Raju wants to make another film with Ram Charan In the interview, Shirish said that things remained cordial with Ram, enough that they could pitch him another project. He also said that the actor owes them nothing and is free to say yes or no to the film they pitch. After the interview dropped, Raju spoke at an event for Nithiin's Thammudu and mirrored his brother's sentiments. He said, 'We had a setback this year with Game Changer, and we feel guilty about not making a super hit with Ram Charan. We are trying to make a hit film with him now. I will hopefully announce it soon.' Game Changer is one of the biggest debacles this year. The film was mounted on a massive budget and had been in production since 2021. According to Sacnilk, it made ₹ 186.25 crore worldwide in its lifetime.

The Renault Triber facelift is expected to launch later this year with some cosmetic updates and new features, but powertrains are expected to remain unchanged. (Image: YouTube/Shankar) Check Offers Renault Triber is one of the key models from the French auto giant in the Indian passenger vehicle market. The MPV comes as one of the most affordable models in its segment, where Maruti Suzuki, Kia, and Toyota have their respective products in the form of Ertiga, Carens and Rumion. The Renault Triber is now gearing up for a mid-life facelift that is long due. This is going to be the most significant update for the MPV since its launch in 2019. One of the key USP of the Triber is its affordable pricing. Expect Renault to continue with that strategy even with the facelifted model, which is expected to launch later this year. The prototype of the Renault Triber facelift has been spotted on the road previously. Now again, a test mule of the upcoming updated version of the MPV has been spotted in Chennai, giving us an idea of the changes. As it seems, the Renault Triber MPV will come with a plethora of cosmetic changes on the exterior. Also Read : Upcoming cars in India The Renault Triber facelift will come with more rounded design elements, while the headlamp cluster will get a revised layout. There will be a new eyebrow-like LED daytime running light (DRL) integrated into the headlamps. The front grille gets a major makeover. Expect the front bumper too to receive some changes. Among other changes, wheel design and rear profile are expected to receive a makeover. An LED strip connecting the taillights is expected to be there. The interior of the test mule was not visible.
