Sharjah Chamber wraps up trade mission to India
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), represented by the Sharjah Exports Development Centre (SEDC), concluded its trade mission to India, with a series of business meetings and discussions involving key officials from economic entities in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. These meetings took place on the sidelines of the Business Forum organised by the Sharjah Chamber in Ahmedabad, the second stop of the mission. The forum explored key opportunities for both sides to strengthen economic partnerships and deepen industrial and investment collaboration between Emirati and Indian private sector stakeholders. The forum was attended by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI; Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman of SCCI, and Jamal Mohamed Sultan Binhuwaidin, SCCI Board Member, along with several Chamber staff. The forum also saw participation of business leaders, entrepreneurs and private sector representatives from both Sharjah and Ahmedabad, which is recognised as a major industrial hub in India. The forum's agenda included focused B2B meetings and detailed presentations highlighting key investment opportunities across diverse economic sectors in both Sharjah and Ahmedabad. Special emphasis was placed on Sharjah's business-friendly environment, including its world-class infrastructure and investor incentives. The Sharjah Chamber showcased its suite of support services aimed at enabling entrepreneurs to scale their operations and expand their global market reach. In his keynote speech, Al Owais said that the Sharjah–India Business Forum in Ahmedabad is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the rapidly growing economic and trade relations between the two countries. He noted that India's exports to the UAE totalled around US$37.1 billion in 2024. India also ranked as the top destination for the UAE's non-oil exports, accounting for 13.5% of total exports and recording a record growth of 75.2% compared to 2023. 'Through this mission, we aim to convert this positive momentum into fruitful partnerships between the business communities of the UAE and India in general, and between Sharjah and Ahmedabad in particular, thereby enhancing economic and investment collaboration to support joint growth,' Al Owais added. He highlighted Sharjah's position as a premier investment destination for Indian enterprises, with more than 20,000 Indian companies now headquartered in the emirate, demonstrating increasing investor confidence in Sharjah's business climate. He further underlined the strategic significance of Ahmedabad as one of India's most vibrant industrial and economic powerhouses, noting that its business and industrial stakeholders stand to benefit from Sharjah's advanced industrial base, which hosts more than 35% of the UAE's total manufacturing facilities. Concluding the second leg of their trade mission to India, the Sharjah Chamber delegation carried out on-site visits to several economic institutions in Ahmedabad, where they gained insights into their business activities and service offerings. These visits featured discussions on potential areas of cooperation, industrial integration, exchange of expertise, and the adoption of best practices, to establish investment partnerships that serve the interests of both sides. Mango Festival opens doors to visitors in its 4th edition
The event is organised by the Chamber in cooperation with the Municipal Council and the Municipality of Khorfakkan, and it features the participation of farmers from across the UAE, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and beyond. The festival is taking place at Expo Khorfakkan. Opening Ceremony Led by Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Chief of Sharjah Ruler's Office in Khorfakkan, inaugurated the 4th edition of the annual Mango Festival 2025. Organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Municipal Council and the Municipality of Khorfakkan, the event is being held under the theme "Mango: Our Fruit, Our Wealth" at Expo Khorfakkan. The opening was attended by local officials, dignitaries, residents of the Eastern Region, as well as participating farmers, specialised companies, and productive families. Chamber Committed to Supporting Local Agriculture His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), emphasised the Chamber's commitment to organising such festivals and events across various cities and regions of the Emirate—each highlighting the unique characteristics of its locale. The Mango Festival in Khorfakkan, he noted, is one such example, reflecting the Chamber's continued support for farmers to help enhance the quality of agricultural products. Festival Sees Growing Interest and Public Engagement In remarks to 'Sharjah 24,' Al Awadi explained that the festival continues to evolve each year, and the 4th edition has witnessed a strong turnout from visitors eager to discover the wide variety of mangos on display. He noted that the mango tree is considered a blessed one, and it holds a special place among locals, who are keen to purchase its fruit.

Sharjah Chamber, Kazakhstan Consulate discuss strengthening strategic partnerships between private sectors
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) engaged in discussions with the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Dubai and the Northern Emirates to explore ways to enhance economic cooperation and strengthen trade and investment relations between the two countries. The meeting emphasized the importance of fostering partnerships between business communities and private sector institutions to leverage high-potential investment opportunities across diverse industries in both nations. The discussions were held during an official visit by Almaz Tasbolat, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Dubai, to the Sharjah Chamber's headquarters, where he was received by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI. The meeting was attended by Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector at SCCI, and Dr. Fatima Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of International Relations Department at SCCI, along with several officials from both sides. During the meeting, both sides explored ongoing cooperation between Sharjah and Kazakhstan, focusing on strategies to advance economic ties through the exchange of trade delegations and the coordination of sector-specific exhibitions and events. These efforts aim to facilitate access to investment prospects for companies and investors in both markets. The discussions also highlighted priority sectors that offer strong potential for collaboration, with the real estate sector taking particular prominence. 'Your Safety is Our Goal' launched to prevent heat exhaustion
Covering Sharjah regions and important sectors Al Zarouni added that the campaign will cover all of Sharjah, including the city, central and eastern regions, and Al Hamriyah. Its goal is to enhance community awareness of the dangers of excessive heat and to provide workers with protective equipment to assist them in avoiding heat-related accidents. In partnership with the Health Education Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, as well as partners from the government, local, and private sectors, the campaign supports national efforts to improve public health and coincides with the directives of the "Year of Community 2025.". Campaign's goals The statement was made during a news conference held by the ministry at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was attended by Al Zarouni, Her Excellency Mona Al Hawi, Chairperson of the Friends of Kidney Patients Association (FOKP), and representatives from participating organisations. Targeting workers and vulnerable groups Al Zarouni confirmed that the campaign's goal for this year is to reach 10,000 workers, including households, domestic workers, factory employees, and field workers who are most exposed to sunlight, such as police officers, municipal inspectors, field engineers, and delivery drivers. To raise awareness of the risks of heat exhaustion, virtual awareness workshops and SMS advertising will be implemented. Highlighting value of collaboration He concluded by thanking the supporters who contributed to the 14th edition of the campaign and emphasising the necessity of collective action to ensure community safety.
