Sharjah HR Dept hosts events to promote ‘Waffer' discount card

This month's events were hosted by the Sharjah Fisheries Authority, Sharjah Media City (Shams), and the Sharjah Museums Authority. The exhibitions saw strong engagement from employees, who showed keen interest in learning about the benefits and services provided by the card. A range of companies and institutions participated in the exhibitions, including Zajel Travel and Tourism, Luxury Reservations, Shamil Trading, The First Collection, Al Fadil Auditing and Tax Consultancy, Emirates Airline, Invest Bank, Verona Wedding and Event Services, Jiwan Hotels and Resorts, Air Arabia, and Anantara Mina Al Arab Resort – Ras Al Khaimah. Expanding reach and enhancing benefits Through these events, the Human Resources Department aims to enhance the added value of the Waffer card and expand its reach by organising awareness exhibitions within government entities. These exhibitions allow beneficiaries to explore the latest offers across various sectors such as travel, banking, hospitality, and services. The participation of leading organisations from different sectors reflects the continuous expansion of Waffer's network of local and regional partners. The Waffer programme serves Sharjah government employees, their families, and other eligible cardholders, contributing to the programme's inclusivity and its role in supporting quality of life. These exhibitions also help to strengthen the relationship between the public and private sectors through interactive platforms that highlight the card's benefits and encourage opportunities for collaboration.

Al Hamriyah residents learn about local community associations

In a unique experience, participants had the chance to visit the Al Hamriyah Fishermen's Cooperative Society for an event called the "Al Hamriyah Fisherman" initiative. This special day was attended by Salem Al Mahrazi, the Director of the Sharjah Fisheries Authority, and Mr. Jamal Al Shamsi, the Chairman of the Society. During the visit, participants learned about traditional fishing methods and got to see local fishing tools, like the "gargoor," as part of an effort to teach them about the UAE's culture and heritage. The day's activities also featured a workshop on improving digital living, run by the Social Services Department of Al Hamriyah Area Council. Additionally, a session called "Hand in Hand," led by Haya Al Qassim, a trainer from Dar Shams who specializes in thinking skills, was included. Participants enjoyed various sports like football and archery, along with fun activities such as playing in a soap stadium. Issa Bin Rukun, a Board Member of Al Hamriyah Club and Chairman of the Cultural and Community Committee, mentioned that the main aims of "I Am the Community" Week are to foster connections within the community and promote cultural understanding among participants, aligning with the UAE's declaration of 2025 as the "Year of the Community.
